A singing fish...or Big Mouth Billy Bass to be exact!

MIL(AKA, the queen of tacky) had bought that singing fish for FIL a couple of years ago when he first got sick. She thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread! It always drove me absolutely berzerk anytime we went to visit FIL, but of course my kids loved it(it has buttons to push and makes noise). So, DH & the kids were at FIL's place today with MIL and guess what she decided to give them to remember Papa by...the freakin fish! ARGH!!!!!! If I hear "Dont Worry Be Happy", or "Take me to the river, Drop me in the water" one more time I will scream!
The ironic thing is a few weeks ago, when FIL was making out his will, I joked around with DH saying "I dont care if I have to fight the rest of the family, Im getting that fish!". ;)

Ok, any ideas what to do with this thing?

no comment...what a thing to be remembered by
I dunno where you can put it, but not in the livable sections of the house!!!!

That's too funny!:p

I bet your kids are having a blast with it, I know mine would be. They'll eventually get bored with it, but for now maybe you could try ear plugs:D LOL
My SIL has one of them with a motion censor sitting on top of the back of her toilet. There's no privacy there.........everyone for 5 miles around knows someone is in the potty.

Take it fishing with you.;) If you catch anything bigger, throw that singing fish in the lake.:p (j/k, don't be singing Hoot Hoot, don't pollute to me:teeth: )

Boy, I guess I should count my blessings, it could be worse! ;)

I agree with the unlivable seciton of the house, glo. Along with the fish we also got a barking dog cookie jar and a cheering football stadium candy dish. Ya know when you see all those stupid gadgets and you say "Who would spend money on something like this?" Well the answer is my MIL! She thinks useless tacky knick knacks are wonderful!

Those are the kinds of things my Dad likes. He gets a kick out of all the gadgety, gimmiky things. When I was a kid I think we had everything Ronco made. :) I remember the Ronco bottle cutter the best, it was supposed to turn your glass pop bottles (before the plastic ones) into glasses you could use to drink out of. As a 9 year old that was a total blast! I was drinking milk out of a 7-up bottle glass & I was too cool!:p

He had the bottle cutter and every noise making thing known. He had jumping barking dogs, cymbol playing monkeys, horn playing clowns, you name it. He passed away before billy bass mouth or he would have had it too. My grandmother and all of us loved to get him these little things. My kids were practically babies when he passed, but they remember him always bringing out the toys for them.
I really do miss my grandparents.

RTFLMBO!:p :p Too funny! Love your "Inheritance." LOL!

Wow, I hope that you don't have any children like my DD4...my mother (in her infinite wisdom) not only bought one for her, she hung it on the wall in the toy area! I hear those songs all the time and we have had it for 2 years or so!!!!! The batteries don't seem to ever die....

MIL gave one to DH for Christmas 2 years ago, Billy the BigMouth Bass has lived happily in the attic ever since! :teeth:

:earsgirl: Krissy

LOL!
I remember when those things came out!! hehe!
those were awesome! :p

but it on the wall and listen to it all the time! ;)

CamColt,

My MIL gave DS a Poo-Chi dog 2 years ago at Christmas. *ack* When the batteries died, we told him it was broken. (shhh, I know, bad Momma, I just could not stand to hear one more version of When the Saints Go Marching In rendered in barking

Some friends of ours have one of those hanging on the wall by their front door (on the outside). Its a hoot to watch people walk up and jump when it starts to sing. Seems like no one pays any attention to it out there.

Maybe she did it to drive you crazy. :p I swear that's my sister's reason for sending DS noisy toys!

Well, hmmmm, I just don't know what to tell you to do with it!

"Be careful what you wish for....." Remember when you were laughing about wanting it??:D I would use it at Halloween...trick-or-treaters would probably get a kick out of it!
