Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

I'm looking forward to meeting you your first morning!! What time is the plan? I need to catch up on the CSR thread still.

We are having so many firsts on our trip too--we have not been to any special events at Disney or to the shows at AK. There are a ton of rides we have never rode or seen so I'm excited for the trip.

Our two trips are coming up so quickly!! :goodvibes

I think Day 2 looks fabulous. Lots of park time, lots of Dismeets, and just the right amount of downtime. Great day!

Thanks, Mary Ellen.

I'm glad to hear Mark is pain free and your on the road to recovery as well. :thumbsup2

As for the wait for Lion King, there is not a long wait, but I would get there about 15-20 minutes early so you can sit down in the air conditioner and relax. Since you have made the promise to see Lion King, I promise you that you will not be dissapointed to see it. :goodvibes

We did have a great time at the WL. As you know I love this place. However I will admit my most recent visit to the WCC was good but not as good as it had been in the past. The pulled pork in the platter was a bit on the fatty side, and so was the second serving I asked them to bring out. The service was good and so was the rest of the platter. So there you have it, a WCC fan who had to eat humble pie this time to a fellow DIS'er who is far from a WCC fan. :rotfl:

P.S. I still like WCC though. ;)

Thank you. Thanks for the advice on when to arrive for the Lion King. And I promise a full review of what I thought of it after we see it.

Sorry that WCC was not as good as your previous visit. See, I liked the pulled pork (but it was fatty) a little and it is all I really ate because I didn't like the other food. Mark got sick on the meat -- it was either the ribs or chicken--it was not cooked fully is what I think happened.

Kathy, I agree you must see The Festival of the Lion King - the first time my friend had to kind of drag me in, but what a wonderful surprise. You will LOVE it!

There can be a long line, but get there early so you are at the front, then when the doors open you get go right in and wait in AC, as goofy4prez mentioned.

So good to hear you and Mark are feeling better. Please remind me - sorry my mind's been kinda full lately;) - when is the angioplasty scheduled?

The angioplasty is scheduled for the Friday of Labor Day weekend (September 3); we have to be at the hospital at 7 a.m. :scared1:

Morning All !!! I have to agree with all the FOTLK talk it is the most amazing and colorful show at Disney!!It is definately a MUST DO!!!

Thanks, Rosie. I may steal your "favorite threes" later in my PTR. You just have the best ideas. ;)

Hi, Stephanie. I am looking forward to it as well. The planned meeting time is 7:15 a.m. I'm going to grab my cappucino around 7 or so and go sit at one of the tables by the lake. It is usually empty there in the morning and this way we shouldn't miss each other. Before we all leave for our trips, I'll post an updated pic so everyone knows who to look for. :lmao:

Day 2 looks great! I hope you get to see FOTLK, I haven't seen it either and everyone says it's great!

You're pictures from Boma just convinced me that I need an ADR there...I've been thinking about it for a while and now I know I need to go there! :cool1:

YES! YES! YES! You must try Boma. It is absolutely wonderful. :worship:

Monday, September 20.

Well, this day will start as the others have thus far. I'll be up at 6 a.m. to take a shower, get dressed, back my backpack and then wake Mark and while he is showering, etc., I will head over for our coffee at the PM. Now, Mark ALWAYS says at least twice during vacation..."I'll get up first and you can sleep." Yeah, right--like that's going to happen. Not only is he WORSE than a woman in getting ready in the morning, he walks slower than me and I'd die from lack of having my cappucino by the time he got back. :rotfl::rotfl:

So we'll be up, dressed and ready to go to the car to the Polynesian for our breakfast here at 7:30 a.m.

After we finish up breakfast, we will drive over to:

IMG_2453.jpg

This will be our one and only day at Epcot this trip so we will have to not take so many potty rests, water breaks, sit downs, etc. It will help that Mark won't be able to do Mission Space and we will probably skip Test Track to (we're going to wait and see what his doctor has to say when he sees him on the 24th and then what the cardiologist says after his angioplasty). We for sure don't want to miss Spaceship Earth, Nemo, Figmen, Soarin, The Land and, time permitting, Universe of Energy, before heading over to World Showcase for the afternoon. Mark also wants to see Captain EO (I told him I'd sit outside and wait for him while he did this...or I could go and do Figment again...as I am not a big Michael Jackson fan).

We originally had a 1:30 lunch at Biergarten, but Mark looked at the menu and liked the "add ons" at dinner, so I changed it ot the first dinner ADR at 4 p.m. This will work fine as we should be half way through WS by this time and we can sit and cool off while we eat and then finish the other half of WS.

After we are done at Epcot, we will be heading to Downtown Disney to do some SHOPPING! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I have a list of people I want to buy things for -- Mark's secretary and her son, the gal who fills in and takes care of my 84 year old boss while I'm gone, that's nice's daughter--Ana, my best male friend and his colleague. I'm not sure if I'll get our boys anything because half the time they don't use/wear. We got Markie this great Donald Duck shirt that says "I failed Anger Management" and I don't think he has ever worn it; Andy did use last year's gift -- golf balls. However, I think he proceeded to lose all of them in the lake the first time he went golfing after we were back. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I also want to buy one or two ornaments, a new shirt and sweatshirt for me and maybe hubby will buy me the wallet that goes with my new Disney bag???? And DH will probably get a t-shirt or two at the place at DTD where you make your own t-shirt. It's hard for him to find shirts in his size (2X's fit just right, but they always tend to shrink no matter how we wash them and he is more comfortable with a 3X).

We figure after all the walking at Epcot and strolling through all of World Showcase and then our shopping, we will be hungry. So for the first time ever, we are going to eat at Earl of Sandwich. I've been wanting to try this for a long time and I looked at the menu last night and I was drooling over it.

So that's Day 3. What do you guys think? Anything I'm forgetting?

Up next, our Revised Day 4 and last day at the World.

Love that you are going to try Earl Of Sandwich!! We had it for the first time in December and then again when we were in Vegas. We walked A LOT just so we could go to Earl of Sandwich for lunch that day.

Earle of Sandwich sounds great, Kathy. I so wish I could be there at the same time as you for a CSR Dismeet, but alas...I don't think that will happen anytime soon as you are now blessed with the ability to go at non-peak times. :goodvibes And Mark and I love Beirgarten...gotta see if I can squeeze it in during our trip somehow.

Love your plans :thumbsup2

You won't be disappointed with Earl. It's very yummy.

Fingers crossed that you get the wallet to go with your bag. :goodvibes

Loving your revised plans for Day 3 :)

Shopping at DTD is always good :teeth: Hopefully you will get that purse to go with your bag, just hover around it long enough :teeth:

You will NOT be sorry at EoS!!! So yummy!! The one with bleu cheese is simply scrumptious!! :lovestruc

Biergarten is a long time favorite of ours. But with trying new places some of the old get neglected; therefore, I'm glad we are going back this year.

Love your plans :thumbsup2

Thanks, Sophia (I'll be crossing fingers, legs, etc.). I sent you a PM on the type of car you want.

Mmmm Kona...I could go for some Tonga Toast this morning...or that fruit platter...YUM

NO Tonga Toast for me, but Grumpy is considering that instead of the Big Kahuna. :confused3

Thank you, Stefy. I think I'll just stand there and stare at it for about 30 minutes and see if that helps.

Your plans look great Kathy!

Thank you, Stephanie. It's getting closer...I can't believe it.

You will NOT be sorry at EoS!!! So yummy!! The one with bleu cheese is simply scrumptious!! :lovestruc

Ok, I didn't get breakfast this morning because I had to go see the oncologist and have blood drawn, and you are making me drool all the more. I can't wait.

That's funny about Mark telling you twice a trip you can sleep in! Sounds like me and Joe...except I'm the one sleeping! :rolleyes1

Day 3 looks fantastic! Another excellent breakfast, dinner and post-dinner! YUM!!!! EoS is so very, very good! I need to go to DTD twice a trip so I can eat at both EoS and WPE.

Thanks for your help with the car! Cha-ching....I now have 25 more dollars to spend at Disney! :woohoo:

Happy to help (and keep checking as you get closer to departure day).

He cracks me up. Then he hears the alarm, doesn't really "jump" up and I end up getting up anyway. :rotfl:

We've never done WPE either...but that will have to wait for another trip.

Mmmm...Earl of Sandwich. We loved it so much last year that we went twice in one trip. I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happens again this time.

I don't think I've ever read a bad review of EOS...I can't wait to try it.

Here are a few of the items I want to take a look at. If I can't find the shirt or the sweatshirt in my size, I may get some of the other items:
