Groundhog Day at Walt Disney World - New 5/2 - pg. 20 - 3 Updates/new PTR link

I just love Epcot for the F&G, so pretty with all the colorful displays and topiaries. I hate those cranky/out-of-sorts kind of days. Hmmmm, did you make it to DHS? I'm thinking - No.

:rotfl: Love the pic of Zach & Beverly!!

That's funny how Tim got into buying the pins. I love getting them for my bulletin board at work. It puts a nice Disney touch to my office.

We are eating at Teppan Edo on our first full day. We are starting it off with Crystal Palace & TE for dinner. Jeff & I ate there last year but the boys have never been so it will be new for them.

I am thinking you did not make it to DHS...

I am subbing. I can't get all caught up right now, but I am definitely looking forward to readying your TR. Your boys are so cute! I have two boys who are teenagers now and seeing your pictures takes me right back to that time.

ok I subbed when I got back, but finally got to read and get all caught up today. Our boys are very similar because what you are saying and describing is pretty close to how our trip went too.:confused3:) Love your Chef Mickey's picture. And your Epcot PP pictures. Can't wait to read more, and I'm so excited for you getting to take an anniversary trip:banana:

There's nothing quite like Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival. So beautiful!

I love the PP pic of Zach alone...the one with the Mickey balloons in the corner. Very cute! ;)

Nice Beverly face as well....it's always the aftertaste that gets ya'!

Oh Amy, I am loving your pictures. It makes me so excited to see Epcot in May.

I didn't know Teppen Edo had an opening ceremony. I learn something new every day on the boards.

Oh My Goodness I love the Beverly picture! :rotfl:! I like the watermelon kind too.

The F&G Festival colors really do bring Epcot to life. :hippie:

I'll have to share a picture of Zach's bulletin board... Juts before our trip we went through all of his pins & sorted the keepers & traders. We put all the traders on his board. He has quite a collection.

The boys will love Teppan Edo! :thumbsup2

:welcome: Glad to have you along! Time definitely goes by fast... I'm trying to squeeze in as much Disney as I can while the kids are still little-ish. ;)

Hi Jess! The complaining got old fast... I think that's what wore me down the most on this trip. I'm hoping that by staying on-site we'll more easily be able to split up or take Alex back to the villa if needed.

I loved the little photo session I had with Zach. He's such a good sport about stuff like that. :goodvibes

Zach wanted to trick Daddy with the Beverly but we never made it back - it's definitely on my list for November. :thumbsup2

I didn't know about the opening ceremony either... we ran across another one later in the trip.

Epcot is gorgeous in May!

Hurray for a fun time at Chef Mickey's -- the one time we ate there, we were seated in the same section -- it was a nice out of the way spot!

Wow! I have never seen all of those backstage areas! I want to go to Disney University. LOL!

I do think Tim needs a lanyard! There are so many neat pins to be had! :thumbsup2

Did you ride SOAT, too? It is so much fun!

A one bedroom at the Boardwalk will be great! I really think I want to rent points for the next trip when it happens!

We found the car and decided if we wanted to go to DHS. It was only about 3pm so we decided to stop but just for a couple rides. We knew if we didn’t, we’d hear about it all day the next day since it was our MK day and DHS wasn’t for two more days. We found the car and decided if we wanted to go to DHS. First stop… TSM. Someone was happy to be there:

Zach wanted to ride the Great Movie Ride so I did that with him while Tim and Alex rode RnRC again.

It was now about 4:30 so our way out we grabbed some snacks. Alex got an Itzakadoozie popsicle (one of those recurring themes), Zach got a Mickey head ice cream bar, I got a pretzel and Tim got some popcorn. We shared a coke too. Once we got back to the condo, Tim took the boys to play a little basketball then we planned to all swim. I went over to the pool & bought a ball for the kids to play with in the water then headed over to the bball court to take some pictures:

The boys were wearing crocs to play basketball, which was a big mistake.

Zach fell down (although not in the picture above), Tim tripped over him & I didn’t know if he was going to get up on his own! Luckily he was OK but it scared me! I had a momentary flash of us riding to the ER & me pushing him around in a wheelchair for the rest of the week! After the scare we decided to go swim. We only got to swim for a few minutes because there was a “code brown” from some ducks! I guess it’s mating season and two boy ducks were fighting over a girl duck and somehow they ended up leaving a present in the pool. It all worked out OK because it was getting late & we needed to hit the food court for some dinner. After basketball & swimming Alex was coughing really bad so I knew we needed medicine & hoped it wouldn’t turn into a trip to the emergency room later in the week. Basketball had probably been a mistake – all the running around made it worse. We all went in to the food court and ordered then Tim stayed for the food while I took the boys back to the villa. Zach had a pizza & Alex got… chicken. After Tim got back I ran out to Walgreens for some cough medicine. Tim & I didn’t eat with the kids, he ran out later & got me a salad and some chicken at Chick-fil-a (I’d had this at Jeff’s and it was good!). Tim got Wendy’s. Alex got his game show fix before bed watching Wheel of Fortune & Jeapordy, then it was 8:00 and time for the boys to go to bed. At 9:00 we could hear some fireworks… I think it was Illuminations since Wishes was at 8:00 that night. I couldn’t see them, but I tried.
Before bed we prepared for our early MK morning and the rain that was in the forecast.

How scary about the accident on the basketball court! Glad everyone was okay!

Don't boy ducks know that's not the way to impress a girl duck? :lmao:

The kids always enjoy Chef Mickeys! I don't know that we'll make it there in November, but we'll definitely have a character meal. I'm trying to decide between Tusker House, Garden Grill and Cape May. :confused3

Yes - I rode SOAT - it was really fun! :thumbsup2 We'll definitely be doing that again!!

The backstage area was pretty cool.

I think renting points is a great way to get more space & stay onsite.

some good updates there Amy...as usual I LOVE all your pix around the World Showcase in EP...so I guess it wasn't an overnight transforamtion for the F& G show then... guess it makes sense though...

so sorry the coughing is getting worse and his "cranky" side is just not approving...poor kid and you :sad2:

I just love the Photopass pix's of you and Zach...so sweet!!!!

You guys managed quite a bit actually for this EP/DHS day...good for you! :thumbsup2

I hope that staying on-site next time will work out well:goodvibes

Love the pictures in the TSM que, the boys look so happy. And RnR. Sorry no one wanted to ride ToT, I'm trying to get over my fear and give it another go if I go with a big party of friends.:rolleyes1

Scary about the BB court incident, glad everyone was ok.

Hope the MK day was magical, can't wait to read about it.

I'm glad the basketball fiasco turned out okay in the end. Scary! Visions of pushing the hubby through WDW in a wheelchair are never good! ;)

Looks like stopping at DHS did the trick...but no TOT...so sad! :sad2:

Can't wait for the MK update! I hope the coughing gets better for Alex so you can all enjoy the day!

Guess I was wrong on the DHS but it sounds like you got a good few things done. :thumbsup2

Yikes on the BB accident, glad it didn't turn out to be a bigger issue. LOL on the ducks! :rotfl:

We just ate at Chick-fil-a last night, told DH I was going to check and see if there were any on our route to/from WDW in June. ;) They are new to us around here and we love 'em!

Hope the rain stayed away from your MK day.

Loving your report so far. My oldest has Autism too. This time we know more and will plan a little better. He is also on a way better med now, so I hope this trip is more relaxing for him and us :rolleyes1

I missed a few updates!

OK, when I saw you went and saw the Globetrotters, the very first thought I had was "I wonder if they got to see Flight Time and Big Easy?!" Huge Amazing Race fan here, so I totally got it!

Love the pictures of the F&G festival. Such a pretty time of year to go.

TSM is one of my favorites. :thumbsup2

Glad you did make it to DHS. No ToT though:sad2:.

I meant to tell you I love those PP pics of you & Zach also. Very cute.

I hope Alex's cough did not get too bad!!
