Moving right along, I want to post my condo update today since Heidi (MRYPPNS) posted hers & we stayed at the same place! I thought it would be fun for those of you who are reading both of our TRs to see another example of a villa at Vistana.
It was time to find our home away from home for the week so we took the short drive over to Sheraton Vistana and checked in. I had received a phone call from a guy named Jay a couple days before leaving. He said he was our concierge for the week & offered us VIP check-in so we could skip the main check-in building, go right to one of the recreation centers and pick up our keys. Im not sure how we got this service it didnt happen last year. But it made it sooo super easy. Last years check in through Diamond Lane (pre-register online) was quick but this was even quicker. I gave the woman our name and she found our folder and handed it to us along with a little gift bag with a mug, samples of toothpaste & rasors, etc. and some coupons for local restaurants. I used the mug during our stay but that was about all. We were in building 23 in the Fountains Section. All of our requests had been met, we were in a refurbished unit on the top floor (which meant vaulted ceilings), near the pool (could have been closer, but definitely a quick walk) and away from highway noise. We also ended up with a corner unit which is always nice. The unit itself was great but the location (within the resort) was just OK. It was just inside the security gate but the traffic wasnt an issue at all we never heard anything.
We found our condo, dragged all of our stuff up the two flights of stairs (the only disadvantage to top floor but I felt more comfortable with the kids sleeping in a separate bedroom being up off the ground). Tim then offered to take the kids to swim for a bit. We had a 5:45 ADR at Chef Mickeys and it was only around 2:00 so we had time to kill. I stayed back and unpacked and started a load of laundry. Luckily I remembered to take pictures before the place got too trashed:
