I just called to add my day day to my next years December reservation. I did not have my card available. I never do by the way, And generally give my SS number. Well I guess theres a new policy. You can no longer do that he says. He needs my card, New privacy act he says. Ok fine no problem.
We book the rooms adding one night to each. ANd he says that will be 64 points for the 1 bedroom, 36 for each studio. I say WHAt???? I start to panic . am I wrong on my dates? AM I using the right calender? Why am I booking weekend points? I should be only on Tuesday night? Of course I say nothing this is what is running through my head at a mile a minute. I say somthing must be wrong...64 points for a Tuesday night. And he said yes and I said it should be 16. And he responded no. listen to my Entire statement 64 for the stay so far.
Ok dope slap.

I called two days ago and they accepted my SSN as an ID, as I didn't have my card with me (I usually do).

Same old thing...."policy" can change from CM to CM.

And I always cut any grouchy CM a lot of slack....I figure that I've had contact with hundreds of CM's and if a few are grouchy, that's a lot less than then general population percentage!! :)

Keep in mind that people are booking those December trips right now and MS is extremely busy.

The main thing is, I'm glad you got everything straightened out and the points right! :)

The only privacy thing they are to be using from what I have been told is asking for the last 4 of your social security number. I too have called and not had my member card on me and been asked for the last 4 along with my current address and phone number as it appears on my account just to be safe. I still don't like the idea of everybody using our social security numbers but it's the only "good" form they have right now. . .

You must have had the same grouchy CM I had when I called to add on to my day by day ressie too. I couldn't get a straight answer regarding my point total.

I had a really, really grouchy one yesterday too. She said the last two members didn't have their cards... ( only kidding- LOL!:D ) I really don't like it when I get a grouchy one... The last few times I have called, mine were not happy Disney folk...

Today I called twice & everyone I dealt with was perky as could be! Was it the weather?

I had my card & they still asked for address & last 4 #s of SS# too, which wasn't any problem. I'm glad they go to lengths to make sure they are truly dealing with members.

I too have had a MR. Rudepants as a CM at MS lately. Both times a gentleman (term used very loosely) and I think it was the same guy. Very short, cut me off mid-sentence, and extremely condiscending! He is definitely not cut from the same cookie dough as the other CM's....thank goodness!!!!

i know we all have our days, but there should be no excuse for the cookie dough to be bitter:sunny:

I am always super cheery after all I am booking my trip! He was very condescending. Listen to my entire statement!!! I did cut him some slack, As I said nothing, Probably why I complained here.... Had he been my hubby I'd have slapped him.
I guess he just had his knickers in a twist.::yes::

Anyone know WHY they can't send us periodic 'points statements' to show us transaction history, points transfers, points balance, etc.? To me the risk is just too great to not view this info on a regular basis. E.g., what if I forget to bank all of my points by my banking deadline?? Very 'caveat emptor'...

I also got an unhappy CM - on wednesday. I too am calling day by day for my december ressies ;) Anyway I called right at 9 and I was not put on hold, so I must have been her first call of the day. If she couldn't be cheerful to the first call, I wonder how she was later in the day

As a side note, I asked this morning if I really needed to call day by day for dec at BCV (a one bedroom). I can understand for BW standard or BW views, but I thought maybe I was being a little "over the top" by calling day by day for BCV. The CM told me I am doing the right thing, that those days fill up fast. So, I don't feel like I am being so anal anymore :teeth:

Probably because it would cost a lot to do it (therefore impacting our dues) unless they could do it electronically and we all know they are a little behind the times on that.

But the good news is that you can request such a document. I asked for one after about three years of membership. It is very good to have and review every once in a while.

If the phone queue wasn't very long and a CM at MS was rude to me, I might simply break off the transaction and redial to get somebody nicer on the line.
