Hi all,

We'll be at the Grosvenor this December 8-13, and I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts about it. We got a sweet rate (I guess??) of $49/nite,and the location to Downtown Disney seems a big plus.

The last two years, we've stayed at Riverside and FQ, respectively. I'm a little concerned about not staying at a "Disney" resort, but what I can tell from the Website indicates it's a pretty good place.

Thoughts? I'd love to here them. Thanks in advance!

After 9/11, we had a last minute trip to WDW and stayed here for $39/night for a tower room. Room was clean and quiet and we were able to get LOS passes because this is considered "on property". Had a Disney store inside, but other than that, it was just a regular hotel. The price is great, but we really missed the "Zipidee Doo Da Day" on the TV every morning.

I had a reservation at this resort for Dec 5th-10th. I have since cancelled it. I looked this hotel up on www.tripadvisor.com and after reading the reviews I cancelled it and may a res at the Royal Plaza at WDW for $79 a night. I thought I would let you know.

I was told that if you don't get a tower room, the 'garden wings' are all set up more like a motel where you enter the room from the outside, etc.. If that matters...

We stayed here and loved the location! It's literally just a walk across the street to DD! The rate you got is great, (we paid double that and thought we did well...:) The rooms were clean, nicely appointed and are a nice size. Plus, they have many more amenities than the Disney budget and moderate resorts.

We stayed here 3 years ago and would never go back. The room was musty and dark, as was the lobby. We thought we received a great deal that included breakfast(Character). The problem is that they crammed everyone in the dining room into one small area, with tables that were too small for party size. We also had parking charges added on, even though my reservation listed parking was included. It took 2 billing cycles to get this refunded.
The hotel is in a great location, but in serious need of renovations.
If you could stay elsewhere, I would.

Last year, we had ressies at the Grovesnor. After researching the hotel further, we changed to the Hotel Royal Plaza. What a wonderful stay we had and I loved the location!!! There are still some good deals out there for the Hotel Royal Plaza.

Good luck with your trip and have a wonderful time wherever you end up!!!

We just got back yesterday from a week's stay at the Grosvenor and we loved it. The location is outstanding, the pool area (and bar!) was great, the service was very fast and friendly, and the lobby was gorgeous. Our room in the tower was a little old looking, but clean and very comfortable. (And the windows actually opened!) I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

By the way, the Pluto/Goofy breakfast was a lot of fun. The characters spend a lot of time with everyone and the breakfast buffet was delicious.
