Will I Save the Galaxy? - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 8)
Meanwhile, Trevor had apparently gone back to the Legends of the Bayou tribute store? He doesn't take as many pictures as I do so honestly, no idea. I just like this picture:
About to be electrocuted!
Meanwhile I was starting to flag...it was hot! But I had one more ride I wanted to do - Buzz Lightyear! I headed that way and ran into another photographer in an unusual spot:
Right outside Space! Weird, but not gonna hate it.
Woo!
Despite my best efforts, I didn't get Galactic Hero my first time.
The face of intensity! I only got 750k.
But they let me go again, and this time...
Success! I'm a galactic hero! Had to take a well deserved rest:
The theming inside Buzz is really pretty good; I just never notice 'cause I'm so focused on the game. LOL
Proof of my hero status. If you ever do get 999,999, definitely take a pic and show it to the CM at the gift shop!
Trevor was still hanging out at the Tribute store, getting sucked in by sucker signs:
LOL.
Beach Club Lunch Offerings - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 9)
With the galaxy safely saved, I decided to head back to the hotel and take a rest. I was walking out through the gift shop (cause A/C) and then the slushy machine in the Confectionary called my name:
Cherry icees are one of my favorite things. And at Disney? perfect!
Trevor sent me a picture he took of the Wicked store at Universal -
We missed those posters last fall!
I waited about 10 minutes for a bus, and by 2:36, I was back at the Beach Club. I figured they'd be wrapping up the lunch service so I quickly ducked in to see what they had:
Cheese, veggies, hummus, cookies...nothing super exciting but a nice little snack.
Then I went to our room - we were super close to the lounge, about 4 doors away, which wasn't bad at all! I opened the door to see:
So sweet! They put balloons and such on the bed to celebrate our anniversary.
Cute little swans, and a card with Snow White! That was such a nice, unexpected touch.
The room itself was really nice - not quite as unusual as our previous room, but very nice.

Dinner at the Beach Club Lounge - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 10)
More room pictures:
The view:
Nice little balcony with a view of the entrance (or exit?).
Also, look at this cute little touch:
a boat on the toilet paper roll!
Room checked out and approved, I took a nap for a bit. Well, tried - I dozed for a little bit and then Trevor and I were texting, and then I watched Bluey for a bit. It was great.
In the meantime, Trevor had been looking in the various gift shops, and then rode Forbidden Journey in the meantime:
He then got sucked in in the gift shop and bought a Marauder's Map pillow and shirt.
My plan for the evening was to head to Animal Kingdom to watch Tree of Life Awakenings, with the park closing at 6. I did want to stay at the hotel until 5 though, when they started serving dinner in the club lounge. I figured I'd risk it, so at 5 pm on the dot, I was in the lounge (to be fair, I wasn't the only one. )
Crab dip
Pot roast with mashed potatoes
Parker House rolls! Pork sliders
75 minutes at Animal Kingdom! - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 11)
More food offerings:
Shrimp cocktail; cucumber salad.
Charcuterie.
Not a bad spread! The parker house rolls weren't the same as in the Ale & Compass Lounge, but still good. I grabbed a smattering of things, wolfed them down, and headed down to the bus stop. At the bus stop, it said the next Animal Kingdom bus wouldn't come for 20 minutes. Boooooo - that meant I'd arrive 15 min before closing. Which was probably fine, but just later than I was hoping. I kept debating whether or not to uber, but really I just wanted to see the show on the Tree of Life, so I ended up waiting for the bus. It arrived at 5:25, and despite the bus stopping at the Boardwalk, we got there at 5:45.
Arriving 15 min before closing means no entry lines.
While I was on the bus, Trevor rode Velocicoaster - he got the front row! And since I find this hilarious - his heart rate in line was 84 bpm, but at the end of the ride, it was 101! Definitely a thrill ride.
Since I still had a few min before park closing and the Tree of Life Awakenings show wouldn't start until at least 6:30 (since it was too late), I decided to head back and ride Everest! Why not.
First time I've ever noticed this height marker - the kids are measured in yeti feet. Absolutely no line, which was super nice.
They close up Everest fast - I got off the ride at 6:01 and walked VERY quickly to the front of the line and they were already closed up. Oh well! At least I got one ride. I headed to the front of the park, while Trevor was grabbing food:
Classic theme park burger. I think my dinner in the lounge was better.
At the front of the park, there were kind of a lot of people!
I was surprised by how many people there were. I didn't realize people were that interested? But cool! They kicked off the Tree of Life shows at about 6:40ish.
Yes, I stayed for all three. It's just such a cool show idea - I love it. When the shows were over, a little after 7, I headed out of the park and decided to go to Epcot. I had a couple FARTS booths I still wanted to hit, so I figured a second dinner from FARTS booths would be a good idea.
Meanwhile, Trevor got in line for Hagrid's! We subscribe to the "hop in line for rides with long lines right before closing" strategy.
Still took him about an hour, with that line winding around outside, but better at night vs in the hot sun.
Meanwhile, by 7:35 I was back at Beach Club, heading towards International Gateway. I figured that would be slightly less walking than taking the bus to Epcot and walking back to World Showcase. My first stop? Germany food booth!
The line wasn't bad - we'd definitely seen it worse this week.
Round and Round and Round We Go! - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 12)
7 minutes later, I had my food!
I got the short rib and the black forest cake. The short rib was good and tender - not quite fall off your fork, but nice and very good flavor. And I really like the parsnip puree. The cake was also good, but honestly had too many cherries for my liking - I wanted just a little hint of cherries and there was a TON. Probably good for those who do like cherries.
I'd gotten a boarding group for Guardians, so after getting the food and eating it, I decided to head over that way. Ending the night with Guardians is always a good thing! But I couldn't help looking in all the art booths. There was a restock of this mini print of the carousel, so I bought that, and some other prints by Caley Hicks. But then I got to the Promenade Gallery and everything was so pretty!
Cute series! I also like how the Snow White one is still in progress there.
Sleeping Beauty! I liked this one, but unfortunately, no prints to be had - only originals. It was like $5k, and even I can't justify that for something I don't LOVE BEYOND MEASURE. And even then....
Then I got to Guardians and it was down. Womp womp. It was about 8:20, so rather than hang around, I did another crazy thing - I'd seen on instagram that Disney springs had the new Cinderella 70th collection, so I decided what the heck, I head over to Disney Springs! So I started heading to the front of the park. I took some pictures:
Then one of the light shows on Spaceship Earth started so I stayed and watched that.
When it was done, the app said Guardians was back up so I was like "forget Disney Springs!" and I headed back that way.
This was the line. I bailed immediately. No way - that's gotta be at LEAST an hour in line. Back to Disney Springs it was.
Trevor meanwhile had just made it back to the hotel, and he was checking out the late night snack offerings:
cupcakes!
(dang picture limit!)
Beach Club Desserts and a Foolish Trip to Disney Springs - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 13)
More snacks:
Peanut Butter Marshmallow Maracron
Muffins/pastries
Fruit
Cookies!
Trevor grabbed himself some snacks and enjoyed the fireworks from the lounge:
Definitely a unique view.
Meanwhile, I'd made it back to the front of Epcot and called for an uber. I took a chance and called for it while I was still a ways from the rideshare area, but it worked out cause the uber was 8 minutes away. I hate waiting. LOL But pretty soon, I was walking into Disney Springs:
I was walking over to Disney Style cause I thought that's where the Cinderella collection was.
Saw this step and repeat as I was walking over - go Sam!
No Cinderella collection at Disney Style, so I headed over to check the Marketplace and hit success! They had the Cinderella sweatshirt I was interested in, but they only had XS or XXXL, and XXXL was too big even for me, especially since it was already meant to be loose/oversized. Loose/oversized + being too large - it was crazy big. I decided against buying it. Oh well!
Headed to the bus stop and OF COURSE, Beach Club was the furthest bus stop away. As it feels like is always the case when you're tired and it's late at night. And weirdly enough it wasn't my feet hurting, but my knees?! I blame the water park. I ended up waiting about 10 min for the bus, which wasn't bad.
By 10:25, I was back at the hotel. Though not gonna lie, at the end of a long day, I really hate how far away the Beach Club bus stop is from the hotel - such a trek when one is tired!
But back in the room, dessert service at stopped but Trevor had gotten me some strawberries, so that was delightful. And we had Beach Club chocolates!
(only one more post, I promise!)
Good Night Chocolates - Thursday January 30th 2025 (part 14)
Since we had two, of course we had to sample them right away (and by we, I mean I was definitely the instigator ):
Yea I took no notes on what these fillings were, but they were good.
Overall, Trevor and I had both had fun days. He had done lots of rides and so had I. And of course, delightful club level snacks! Tomorrow though, time to go home.
Fun with Metrics:
Steps walked: 26531 steps (10.4 miles)
Ride count: 8 for me, 5 for Trevor, though Trevor probably did ride more he just didn't tell me about/take pictures of (Me: Jungle Cruise, Tiana's Bayou Adventure x2, Haunted Mansion, Tron, Buzz Lightyear x2, Everest, Trevor: VillainCon, the Mummy, Men in Black, Forbidden Journey, Hagrids)
