Unfortunately, I agree (and having worked in the food and convenience store industry in years past), which is why I posted the comments I did above. Sad, but true. I can also tell you one of the stupidest things I constantly see is people doing stuff with beautiful new plastic gloves on, all nice and sanitary, then taking money with the same glove, then going on to the next customer. Explain to me how that works?Just a thought, but do you think this does not happen at many places you eat? The two issues here are that this happened when customers with cameras were there, and it happened at Disney.
Pay someone $8.50/hour and expect them to care. Think of places like Waffle House; They cook food in the open for all to see. I prefer that to hidden kitchens where I don't know if they sneeze (or worse) on my food. I do expect higher from Disney, but this was a contracted employee #DisneyCuts who probably didn't care and figured no one would notice. Under supervision of others that also don't care about their work, I suspect this happens way way way more than people know.
Used to LOOOOOOOOOVE Kenny Rogers Roaster chicken, and their roasted taters!!!!I haven't worked a food service job since high school, but back then I worked at Kenny Roger's Roasters for about 6 months before they closed. We only had one mop for the whole place. So the mop got used in the bathrooms, including the floor under the urinals, and then used on the floor in the lobby and even back in the kitchen. And we were all high school kids making minimum wage (I think it was $6.25 at the time?) so you can bet that mop was used on other things like the booths and tables. Oh, and when we were told to clean the bathrooms we were given that mop, a spray bottle, and one rag. No other supplies or assistance was given and I know for a fact some of my coworkers would clean the toilets first with that rag, then use it on the counter, sink, mirror, and baby changing station. My advice, based on my only experience with the food service industry, is that the outside world is dirty and gross and should be avoided at all costs.
