Hi Guys,

So we bought into the DVC last year and in a few weeks we'll be staying at our home resort, the Poly. We can't wait. :) We think it's a great investment considering the numerous times we've been over the last few years, and the fact that our kids are still very young... and the mouse is not getting any cheaper. So, the biggest question I have is what's the best way to have groceries delivered to the room? We eat out every night, but just want to stock up on breakfast items, water and snacks, etc. Any advice on this matter is much appreciated. Thanks.

We use wegoshop. Love love love it. They shop at the stores you tell them, will use coupons and also buy alcohol. They will also tell you if the items you pick are typically out of stock and will call you from the store if they need to go off your list. Highly recommend.

Dizzy Dolphin. They will shop at whatever stores you like. They will deliver alcohol also. Just send them a shopping list, they will send you a price quote within 24 hours. You also don't have to be present for your order to be delivered.

If you only need a few items, you can shop at the resort store or use the resort order form and for a small fee Disney will deliver your groceries to your room.

The non Disney delivery services have service fees, some mark up their prices, some authorized by Disney and they can leave your order with bell services, others are not authorized and you have to meet them. They all expect a tip in addition to fees.

We have longer stays so we rent a car for the day and shop for ourselves. The cost is about the same as delivery, no order mistakes, we shop where we want, when we want.

we're trying Dizzy Dolphin this year, they shop where you want & they have lots of positive feedback on their Facebook page

We've had excellent experiences with Garden Grocer. Their customer service is terrific IMHO. The prices are lower than WDW, but higher than home, but of course you're paying for the convenience. On trips where we rent a car, I generally go to Publix, but I'm not particularly fond of grocery shopping on vacation.. I just wish I had known about GG earlier!

We always use Garden Grocer when we fly and want a few things delivered for breakfasts etc - they will also deliver beer & wine. I used to get a case or 2 of water delivered too but no longer do that. We use the Brita refillable water bottles and when in the parks and want a new cold water refill we just stop at the closest CS restaurant and ask for a cup / glass of cold water. Sometimes I ask for an extra one & I pour it into my Brita bottle. While yes, their prices are higher than shopping at home they're still cheaper than buying stuff onsite in the resort stores. Garden Grocer will give a discount for pre-ordering way ahead of time too (order at 60 days out & save 10% / 30 days 7% / 15 days 5%). We always select a time slot for the delivery around the time our flight lands so that the order is there when we arrive (they leave it with Bell Services).

We just used them for our current trip. Our order was already in our room when we arrived. We will be definitely be using them for future trips.

Dizzy Dolphin somehow knew which room you would get and they got access to it prior to you checking in?

We arrive this week. For the first time, we are having groceries delivered. We used Garden Grocer. We wanted perishable items and beer, which is why we didn't use the one recommended through the resort (VGF). Within 5 minutes of placing my order on line, I got a courtesy call confirming my order and letting me know it will be delivered to bell services if we weren't there yet. Prices were slightly higher than I'm used too, but its about the convenience for me. We ordered many drinks (water, vitamin water, beer), breakfast items including eggs, muffins, milk, etc. I plan on cooking a dinner or two as well so also bought steaks, chicken breast and sides plus veggies.

They said, when I confirmed, that it would be with bell service. After check in, I went to bell service because we also had our owners locker delivered. Bell services told me both were already delivered to my room.

This is very unusual unless Disney has made some policy changes. I didn't realize that Dizzy Dolphin was an approved vendor who is allowed to leave orders with bell services and we have never had bell services deliver to our room without us being in the room. That policy was part of the union agreement used to increase tips.

DME is delivered without guests in the room because the tip is paid by DME to bell services.

I thought it was a little strange, but convenient, that my groceries and owners locker were both already in the room. It was nice to have the refrigerated items already put away.

I have seen some others on the board reporting that their order was already waiting in the room for them also. So perhaps a change in policy?

Interesting, what if you changed your room at check in? Did you check in online and did you use direct to room?

Then there would have been a problem. :rolleyes1

We used online check in, but I stopped at bell service before we went to the room.
