Rum cake?- I'm looking for a good recipe ladies

Warning: Beware trying this Rum Cake recipe
Rum Cake Recipe:
1 or 2 quarts rum
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup dried fruit
baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
lemon juice
brown sugar
nuts

Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Good, isn't it? Now go ahead.

Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the rum again. It must be just right. To be sue rum is of the highest quality, pour one level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat.

With an electric mixer, beat 1 cup butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanwhile, make sue that the rum is of the finest quality. Try another cup. Open second quart if necessary.

Add 2 arge leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat till high. If druit gets stuck in beaters, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the rum again, checking for tonscisticity. Next sift 3 cups of pepper or salt (it really doesn't matter.) Sample the rum again.

Sift + pint of lemon juice. Fold in chopped butter and strained nuts. Add 1 babblespoon of brown thugar, or what ever color you can find. Wix mel. Grease oven and turn cake pan to 350 gredees. Now pour the whole mess into the coven and ake. Check the rum again, and bo to ged.

I have made a decision at the ripe old age of 39 to go back to school and get a bachelor's degree!!! I will be in college with my son in January!!

I have my AA, I actually have two of them, one is an AS, but I REALLY want my Bachelors also, so I went back to school this semester. (That is why I may not be around much or it takes a few days to get a reply sometimes). It will be a slow process for me as I dont' have the time (with 3 kids) to go full time, but it is a goal...and gosh darn I'm a gonna get it. So good luck on your future path! Good for you!

Carolinamomof3boys: I did the same thing at 36.. finished my Elementary Education degree 2 years ago and am now a full time first grade teacher in my second year - and I am now 40. To top it off, I will have my Masters in Education by JUNE !!! You certainly can do it and I say GOOD FOR YOU !!!!

I say hats off to all of you! I often think about how hard it would have been to ever head back to school after marriage and adopting our two sons. I went straight from HS to college and got my BS and MA by the time I was 24 and prior to our marriage. So I'm TOTALLY IMPRESSED with your desire and dedication to working toward a goal.
