Grizzly River Run

We are definitely a poncho family. We always chuckle at the people walking toward Soarin' with soaking wet jeans and drowned rat hair! DH and I went on a ride similar to Grizzly (at Magic Mountain) in Sept. 07 and he was wet to the skin. The inside of his belt didn't even dry until 2 days later - that's how wet he was! :scared1: And he even hung it up to dry in the hotel. :confused3

We had 8 people in our group the beginning of Dec. and all of us but my dad were wearing ponchos - he chose the full rain gear. Waterproof socks, Crocs, rain pants and waterproof jacket with hat. I think he was the driest of all. Even our 4 year old wore a poncho and howled with laughter when we went spinning down the drops. I think we rode it 4 times in a row one day.

Funny off topic thingy - DS 4 was tall enough for Grizzly but not tall enough for Mulholland Madness. Both are a 42 inch ride. He was terribly disappointed about Mulholland but ecstatic about Grizzly!

ETA: DS 6 didn't like the kid-sized Disney poncho DH bought him. DS 4 wore it instead. DS 6 preferred an adult poncho for more coverage. He loves Grizzly - hates to be soaking wet!

Thanks everyone for your replies. I think we will wear ponchos and be proud to look a little silly!!!!

I usually wear a poncho. I like the ride, but don't want to walk around with water dripping off me.

You'll be having too much fun to look silly. :)

To each their own. What ever constitutes fun. I do not think it would be as much fun if you rode the ride without the chance of getting wet. My son virually has never gotten wet( maybe a couple of spots) but my DGFm always gets soaked no matter where she sits.

"Tell me the truth.....will I look silly if I ride Grizzly wearing this?"

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a chihuahua in a scuba gear on GRR. I mean, think of all the people staring . . .

At least everyone has a great sense of humor. With all the gear I wear when I am working, I am afraid they would laugh forever if I put a poncho on. I is like doing Soarin with your eyes closed, but I guess some folks do.
