I love the Grinch and plan on going to IOA this year for it - missed it last year. :(

So what is added for Grinchmas? What is it like - is the Grinch around alot or just certain times? Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

Barry - now I know you probably have a huge trip report on it so being on the info dear! :)

The grinch in normally in his laher (sp) in Seuss Landing. The only time that he is out side is when or if they have him in one of the shows.

I found this for you

Holiday Festivities at Universal Studios Orlando

Yuletide music fills the air. A beautifully decorated tree graces Gramercy Park. It's snowing on Delancey Street! And St. Nick himself is visiting Battery Park. From the Super-Dee-DuperTM "A Barney Christmas" show to The Blues Brothers singing Christmas carols, nobody does the holidays like Universal Studios Florida.
UNIVERSAL STUDIOS "GRINCHMAS" CELEBRATION

November 17 - December 31, 2000. Location: Universal Studios Orlando

At Universal Studios' celebration of everything Who-vian, Grinchmas takes the delightfully off-kilter residents of Dr. Seuss' Whoville off the screen and brings them to life. Featuring freak snowstorms on Mt. Crumpit to Whovillians, Who pudding, Who singing, and who knows what else. Takes place nightly, featuring processions, a singing and dancing cast of Whovillians, a nightly tree-lighting ceremony, Who feasts, the Grinch's faithful dog Max and -- snow!

Guests will actually see the film come to 3-D life as they enter a snow-capped Whoville. Visitors will enjoy seeing the Whoville Whobilation area, where singing and dancing Whovillians teach The Grinch the true spirit of Christmas. Revelers can slip down the icy Mt. Crumpit Snow Plummet or meander through The Grinch's Cave Maze, the dark, cavernous home of the Grinch, where taunted by the Grinch's disembodied voice, they interact with pop-up Grinch decoys and contraptions from the Grinch's workshop.

Your welcome. I see your a Swan fan. I'm thinking of staying there next 4 of July and spliting my stay betweent the Dophin and PBH so I'll get over to your board and ask you tons of questions between now and then.LOL

Well I have only stayed @ the Swan once. I am kinda an adopted S/D cheerleader! LOL I will try to answer whatever questions you have though. :)

I was at IOA this weekend and the decorations are going up and I am getting excited!! I am going to Grinchmas the weekend after Thanksgiving - I will probably regret it but that is when I am going. :)

Christine:

Grinchmas is so much fun. My fondest memory was waiting to see the Grinch for the longest and being the first in line to see him. The Grinch was talking to some people, saw my son and snorted "what is this? I thought we SPRAYED for kids!"

Tammy, we've stayed at the Dolphin and the Swan. It's a wonderful property! I can probably answer most of your questions or you can run over to the resorts board and check out my friend glo's FAQs. They are awesome!

I'm considering the swan and dophlin for our July 4th trip. Thinking of spliting the stay with three nights at WDW and 5 at US/IOA. If I don't talk myself into the CR. The kids will be three June 30 so it's there b-day trip and I want to be able to get into the parks often.

Thanks Robin!! I take it the lines to see the Grinch are long? ugh!! :)

Christine! I'm sorry I gave you the impression that the line was long. We had to wait for the "exhibit" to open. We were entertained by the inhabitants of "Whoville" in the meantime. We were first in line.

Oh, ok. I confuse easily I guess LOL! I am just not a very patient wait in a long line type of person. I try to be but I have this issue with needing space! I heard the Grinch is pretty funny so that will be great. We had a CM (do they call them that @ Universal) talk to us for about 10 mins about lasts years Grinchmas. You could tell that she was excited! :)

if you liked the walk around whos, you will be greatly disappointed, as they will only have the walk arounds during select days

Is this at IOA or Universal? We will be at IOA one day between 1/1 and 1/4. Are there other special events to know about?

Grinchmas is at IOA. USF is having the Macy's parade. both parks will have a lot of Xmas decorations.

I believe there are fireworks on NYE too.

the fireworks are also for the week leading up to NYE, barry. both parks will have fireworks

I remember last year fireworks were only during NYE that week. I remember IOA was very quiet at around 10 pm. I see things have changed. :)
