Which DVCs have outdoor grilling areas? I know BLT does, but WLV doesn't (which I thought was strange, since it's an "outdoorsy" place). I'm not sure of the others. Help please? Thanks!!

Not sure, but I thought I saw grills over by the bike rental lakeside at VWL.

All DVC resorts have a grilling area. PP is correct, VWL has grills by the bike and boat rental.

I always wanted to do this but it seem like a hassle to buy the coals and stuff. Staying at BCV after the cruise mybe I will try it then.

Thank you for the correction! I could have sworn I saw a checklist of WLV annemities, and grills was not checked. May have been an old list? Thanks again!

Grilling isn't a popular past time at Disney and getting the supplies can be a hassle. I would guess that the grills pretty much go unnoticed by Guests and Cast Members.

Some charcoal comes with the lighter fluid already on it/in it. All you need is a match.

Is there any particular reason why they don't have electric or gas ones???
We have great push button electric ones in public park picnic areas.......

We saw charcoal, and fluid for sale at Fort Wilderness, when we walked over from VWL. Took the boat back with graham crackers, Hershy bars and marshmallows that we bought at the store at Fort Wilderness, and made Samoas in the microwave in our villa.

Because member dues would have to pay for the gas or electricity to run those grills.

Having access to a charcoal grill for the few people who use them is Disney's way of providing a cheap perk. Installing a more expensive electric or gas grill would cost a lot more. Electric or gas lines don't come cheap and the cost to replace the grills in a few years would be a lot more. I think that Disney made the right decision with the charcoal grill. :thumbsup2

I guess I just got spoiled by the Westin Kaanapali Villas and their massive proper gas barbeques. Not to mention every other apartment building in Queensland having Electric grills for owners and guests...sigh....
They don't have the mouse though:thumbsup2

IMO, DVC falls down on the grills. I think only VB has gas grills and they are not especially usable IMO. Marriott, Westin, basically almost everyone else does it better than DVC in the grilling department.

Yeah we stayed at Tiki Village in Vegas and they had a gorgeous stainless steel outdoor kitchen. Multiple built in units with sinks and
refrigerators. The maintenance guy spent an entire day scrubbing em.
We enjoy grilling at DVC. The markets sell Matchlight and the community halls have the utensils. Looking forward to grilling outside our Thv in december

We grilled for the first time at SSR in March. We had to go to three grilling areas before we found one that was free. We had a party of 10 to grill for and everything went smoothly. As stated by someone previously, all you need is a match. The resort stores sell Matchlight charcoal.Having my first hamburger of the season in March was great! We will be going down in March 2010 and I'm bring down grilling utensils to leave in my Owners locker. They do have grilling utensils available at the community hall, however it is first come, first serve.Since it might be only my husband and me this time, we will grill a few items at a setting then use them for lunches and/or snacks.:tinker:

There are BBQ grills at OKW by all of the quiet pools. We always use the grills, driving in it's easier for us to bring or buy charcoal. There's a BBQ scraper/brush permanantly kept in the car for just these occasions.

Since the BCV does not have a Community Hall, are there utensils somewhere else?
TIA
