Anyone ever notice that drinking Green Tea actually benefits you? And how? And how much do you drink to see 'results'?

Just wonderin....

I tried it once but I thought it tasted like grass clippings soaked in bathwater.
My FIL makes green sun tea in the summer, but he has never claimed any specific health benefits. And he is already on Lipitor, and maybe some other meds, so I would not know what was attributable to the tea and what was to the meds even if he did note something positive in his health.

I do all kinds of things that are supposed to benefit me. I'm a real live tree hugging, organic eating, vitamin chomping, wheat grass guzzling fool, and I'm still fat, tired, depressed, and stuck with a couple chronic pain conditions.
I like green tea though. The good stuff tends to have fruity notes to it.
Who knows though, maybe without all this stuff I'd be dead. :scared1:

It has anti-oxidants and is supposed to help with your metabolism. I don't know if it does anything really beneficial, but it doesn't have some of the negative side effects that coffee has. I like Stash green teas-- chai and morrocan mint. Their White Christmas white tea is also awesome.

I used to drink it a lot. The taste definately takes getting used to. Can't really say if it gave me any extra energy for the day. I will say it made me pee like a race-horse....maybe that's where the benefit is...excercise in running back and forth to the bathroom. :confused3

:lmao:

I drink lots of tea daily. I read that people who drink about 4 cups of green tea a day seem to get less cancer. Black tea is supposed to be good, too.

I remember the poster, Wishing upon a star, or something like that (sorry!), had a good discussion a while back how too much tea is bad because it's too much flouride or something to that effect. You might want to look it up.. if the search function isn't broken. :headache: ugh

:surfweb:

The sweetpea swears it helps her cough. I like it, but it makes me pee a lot.

Some of the popular green tea drinks have lots of caffeine, which can suppress your appetite and increase your metabolism, but isn't healthy besides that.
