Just a quick report.

I had a great week from August 1, 2004 to August 8, 2004. Fortunately, I escaped before Hurricane Chuckie came blowing through. Although my mother decided to stay an extra week with her sister in Orlando. Let's just say that was a bad idea.

Stayed the first few days at Saratoga Springs in a 2-bedroom, room #1611 in Congress Park. Requested a water view of Downtown Disney. Got a courtyard/garden view with no water. But heck, it was a great room. SSR, when it is complete is really going to be a fantastic resort. For those of you who made SSR your home resort, it was a really good investment of your money. ::yes::

CM gave me the rumor de jour....that SSR will eventually have a 1,200 room lodge built on the property. Always love the rumor mill.

Stayed at my home resort, BCV, in a 2-bedroom. Room #250. Huge balcony, and a partial few of the Epcot fireworks at night. Storm-A-Long Bay was wonderful as always.

Parks were packed and lines were long. There's no place like home! ::MickeyMo :earboy2: :teleport:

Glad to hear that you had a nice trip!

Hope your Mom and aunt came through the storm OK...must have been scary.

1200 room lodge...interesting! Was the CM a DVC rep or a CM specifically at SSR? I'm waiting for details on Phase III and the amenities that will go along with it.

Our home is BCV also, glad to hear a positive report about it for once! Glad you had a good trip and made it home safely...Lacee

Sounds like you had a great trip! Hope your Mom & Aunt have recovered from their experience weathering "Charlie".

Thank you for posting!

Glad you had a great trip. BCV is one of our home resorts as well and we have never had a bad experience.

Welcome back! Thanks for the report. I haven't been to my home (SSR) yet but I liked hearing that I've made a good investment. ::yes::

Thanks for the report -- glad to hear you missed the hurricane even if your mom wasn't so lucky.

Glad you had a great trip. Very pleased to hear you liked SSR. Cannot wait to get there myself! Check out my timer!!! Can I start packing yet????

Glad you had a good trip & got out safely before Charley got there. Thanks for the positive review of SSR seems like alot of folks are dissappointed with it. We just purchased SSR points last month, glad to know we made a good investment.

We were in #1514 on those same dates. We did have a water view, but it was a first floor, so had a patio rather than a balcony. I thought I'd hate it (my coffee on the balcony is a big part of any trip), but I got used to it pretty quickly. We moved to an OKW grand villa for the remaining days, and were on the last flight out of MCO before they closed the airport on Friday. It was pretty scary. I did *not* want to be in the air. (Actually, where I wanted to be was back in my grand villa. <g>)

I loved the SSR quiet pool, the convenience of walking to DtD (especially to grab a bus to dine at another resort), the breakfasts at Artist's Palette, and the boys liked the pool table in the Turf Club. I think they'll need more quiet pools and eating places (and maybe a few more pool tables!) as the resort grows, but it was perfect for the 200+ rooms that are currently open. I'd definitely stay there again.
