Booking my FP+ today, and although I would like to ride these, I don't want to forego FEA and Soarin, and TSM. Am I correct in thinking its smarter to FP+ these three and then hop onto the standby lines at GMR and TT, as early as possible? Or, is it possible I can get a same day FP for either of these once our first 2 or 3 FP are used? BTW, I booked by parks on a non EMH day for hopefully shorter wait times.

How early August? Local schools return the third week or so. Early August can be packed. I don't think same day will pay off unless you stacked all your FP's for the first possible time slots. I'd rope drop GMR (maybe TSM first if a true rope drop) since it is such a slow loader and just be opportunistic for TT by checking the queue periodically.

We're going the last week in August through the first week Sept, so not the busiest time of the month.

In that case you should be fine with a rope drop on a non EMH morning. We've done TT several time stand by in that time period of August.

We go around that time in August every year and usually do one stand by for TT before our FP. We waited a decent amount of time last summer but nothing crazy

A 4th fastpass for Great Movie Ride is very possible.
For Test Track, don't count on a 4th fastpass --- But if you want to keep down lines, you can save time with the single rider line, if you are willing to split up your party. You can also find manageable lines late at night, especially if you're willing to skip fireworks.
