Great moments for first time at WDW?

Although I haven't been to WDW in about 8 years, I am a long time park fan and I'm familiar with most of what's there. My BF, on the other hand, has only been to DL a few times and has never been to WDW. He hasn't been on very many vacations either, since his family didn't travel much.

I'm trying to plan special things that he'll enjoy. I think there are probably lots of things at WDW that are really exciting and cool if you have never seen them before. I'll never forget my jaw dropping the first time I saw the Swan and Dolphin. :-)

But I know so much about the parks that I probably don't notice many things anymore!

Here are the things I have "secretly" planned (i.e. things that I plan to do that I haven't even hinted to him about):

Eat breakfast our first day at the CR so he can see the monorails come in and out, then ride the monorail to MK.

Eat dinner at Cindy's (my first time there too).

Visit the Sci Fi Dine In (he's a big fan of 1950's movies and old sci fi).

Is there anything else that old-timers might tend to skip that someone would really enjoy his first time at WDW? For those of you who took a 30-something man to WDW for the first time--what things did he really get a kick out of that may have surprised you?

Thanks!

Perhaps you could have a gift basket of candy, personalized mouse ears and balloons waiting for him in the room when you arrive. I think the Disney Florist can do that.

You'll love dinner at Cindys! :)

Another thing is try to get Rose & Crown pub in the UK pavillion at Epcot for dinner. Time it so you are there when Illuminations starts and request to eat outside. Get there early to request this if you have to. It's amazing.

I really packed it all in for his first time and came close to overkilling by having TOO MUCH planned!!

Anyway, here's some highlights:

Did the KTTK tour - awesome!! I think it's a great tour for the money with lunch included at CHH.

Lunch at 50s PT - Mom made him set the table and he loved the restaurant itself, both food and decor.

Breakfast at CP with Pooh and friends (he's a closet Piglet lover)

As I mentioned, just don't plan too much - a little down time is good and that way he'll want to come back again and do things that he couldn't get to the first time.

Enjoy!!!! :teeth:

My DH was pretty amazed at RnRC and ToT. I think he thought it was all "its a small world" and as you know, he was wrong!
