So does that mean that the travel one that Wayne posted a link to, just plugs into the phone connector thing that normally plugs into the laptop, and then that its we have wireless in the room??

At hme before you go set up the router on your home connection just so you know your phones and stuff can connect.

I'm aniticipating needing to plug the WDW cable into my laptop first to activate the line, then I'll switch the cable over to the router.

No reason to connect at all. Just plug it straight into the router, laptop should find it wireless and take you to the acceptance page.
