Great deal: 37% RO discount at Poly w Travelocity

So you can't cancel or change your trip if you book the hotel and tickets together through Travelocity? Are you just out the money for the tickets if you have to change your reservation? If you purchase trip insurance, will that cover the costs of the tickets if you have to change the trip?

I want to book through Travelocity, but I'm worried something may come up and we'd have to move our dates a little.

Granted I can't set up FastPass+ prior to arriving but I will be happy to be able to do it when we arrive. By Nov, if everyone staying onsite is getting Magic Bands and if I have a smart phone, it should only take me a little while to set my FastPasses for the rest of our trip.

If you think about it, that is the real benefit to FastPass+, getting to reserve a pass without have to leave the restaurant you are eating at or run around the park like a "chicken with your head cut off". I would guess that many people who set up their FPs+ prior to arriving probably change them once they hit the parks. Right?

We don't have a lot of information about FP+ yet. There may be a period of time where they have regular FP and FP+... but I may end up losing out completely on FP+ because of the Travelocity tickets. The Travelocity tickets are actually just ticket vouchers, so until you actually use the voucher to obtain real tickets, I don't think there will be a way to link them. Undercover Tourist gives you actual tickets, right? You should be able to link them.

15% off code is GETAWAY15E

Rocky- You're right. If you book hotel with the tickets, you cannot change or cancel your reservation without losing the $$$ you paid for the tickets.

The travelocity tix are a will call tix that you print out of your computer as soon as you order. WDW site has the capability to link will call tix, but I can't get it to accept the travelocity number.....emailed Disney.
I got insurance through Allianz to cover the cost of the tix. Of course, it wouldn't be covered if we decided to change our dates, but will cover that cost if we have any emergency situation. I got the insurance to try to put my mind st ease a bit.

Oh that's great that it can link will call tickets! Didn't know that. I'll be super interested to see what you find out!

Hi! I just got off the phone with the 5th Disney person and might finally have a way to link them.... She said that they link easiest if you scan the ticket into an iphone or ipad with a camera. (I have neither so I'm going to find a friend who does....I figure there are enough of those things around that somebody will let me try it on their phone...I hope...lol!) She did say not to panic if it doesn't work bc sometimes it doesn't work. I told her I'm just paranoid and want to see my travelocity stuff in Disney's system to feel better that all is well :-).
Anyway, here are the directions (If you do it...let me know if it works, and I'll do the same)....
Download the my disney experience app.
Login the same way you do on the computer.
Look for 3 little bars in the top left of the app.
Click on tickets and passes.
You should see an option to input or scan the ticket.
Choose scan.
Scan ticket.
Should load ticket.
Then you assign a ticket to each family member.

I just canceled my GF rooms that were rack rate but with FD and with the tickets. After breaking down the costs of our package, backing out the price of the dining plan and taking off tickets, we were paying $444 for a room with the Disney res.

After working my way through travelocity, we got two rooms at GF for $361. If you include the $198 cash rebate I'm getting in the mail from ebates, that brings the per night per room cost down to $339.

So we went from rack rate of $497 to my orginal price of $444 to the great price of $339!

That comes to a discount of 32% which isn't bad considering WDW told me there were not more discounted rates left. Even when we add in the dining plan, we're still saving $900! So happy with travelocity and ebates!

Wow! Are you getting tickets through travelocity? Are you planning to buy the dining plan? I got tickets through travelocity, but am having trouble linking them to Disney's website. We did a chart for all of our meals we anticipate having at WDW, and the cost of FD would actually be more than we anticipate spending, so we're not doing that. I'm always interested in hearing other people's thoughts/opinions about those things....thanks!

Ok...so, I tried this this morning on my friend's iphone, but it didn't work. It said that it didn't recognize my tickets and to call the help desk. I was on hold for quite some time, then was told that Travelocity buys tix in bulk, so the ones I have may be old (still valid, but old....for example, from 2005). If so, the new Disney online system will not be able to read the tickets. I shared that I am quite concerned about how anyone will help me at Will Call, since I've called at least 7 times now and no one recognizes my tickets or can help me to get them recognized. I called ticket services at 407-566-4985. The man there told me that he used to work in a different dept of tickets so he understands this a bit more than most people. He said that Travelocity and Disney have a very tight security agreement. He said the tickets are in the system, but are securely locked away for security purposes. He said that beginning 3 days before the tickets become valid (they are only valid for our travel dates...as are travelocity tix), then the exchange will occur and Disney will be able to see our tickets in their system. So...I'm going to sit patiently (and bite my nails down to my elbows!) until Oct. 2nd, then try again to make sure they can see my tickets for our trip Oct. 5th. If anyone knows anything about this, or has a similar experience with travelocity (or orbitz or expedia or?), can you let me know? I'm beginning to think I should have spent the extra $409 to stick with booking through Disney. :confused3

Well I'm concerned because I attached the tix to the second half of our vacation and if I can't get my tickets on our first day there, I will be livid. Trying to call Travelocity again.

Oh...I feel for you! Have you checked the will call ticket they emailed to you? (I think you have to sign it to travelocity, then print it out.) If so, check the dates listed on that. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you can adjust it! Let me know how you make out....good luck!

I was actually up until 2:30 a.m. last night working all this out. I have about 5 pages of numbers and notes scribbled all over.

After researching the price of what the dining plan cost (55.50 per person per night?) I added up the week, keeping in mind we STILL had to purchase breakfast and pay tips. We mainly drink water,so the refill mug wasn't such a great deal and honestly, getting that dessert with so many meals was a big waste cause we are all trying to be super crazy healthy right now...SO....we are choosing to pay for our food.

I ran tickets costs, with Disney's quote, AAA quote and the mousesaver's discount with undercover tourist and no one could match their rate. I am NOT going to purchase tickets through travelocity because I don't like reading some of what folks are experiencing here. I am hoping I can link my tix with U.T. but honestly, the fact that we are saving $900 total for the week is what I value the most! :thumbsup2

So the rep at Travelocity said it would be good for our check-in on 11/21 even though the voucher says 11/23 (which is the check-in day of our split stay).

I will try what another poster suggested and see if I can scan my voucher on 11/20 before we leave. Stinks that the big savings I was so excited about is making it impossible for me to register my tickets and take advantage of all the new stuff happening online (FP+).

Not getting tix through travelocity is probably a wise decision....bummer for me to have learned that lesson now. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for us with them, but the stress this has caused me (and the insurance I bought to cover them since they are non refundable and are only good for the exact dates of out trip), was not worth the 15% savings. Good luck to you!

Hopefully, you'll be ok. I was the one posted the other thing, too....the guy told me they getexchanged to disney from travelocity 3days out....the timimg out that 3rd day out depends on when the exchange actually occurs. So, if you try it early in the day and it doesn't work, I'd try again later in the day. I go before you....if I remember, I can get on here and let you know how I make out. Good luck!

Wow! This is all good to know. I'm surprised more people on this board haven't had issues with tickets purchased through Travelocity. Sorry you are going through all this and I am hoping it all works out! I will be looking for updates and wishing you a magical trip!

I've never booked through Travelocity before? If I book hotel and change my mind, do I get a full refund? What if a code comes out later with more savings? Can you cancel and rebook?

Ditto. And I only saved 10% on the largest purchase. I am usually a much better planner than this, but excitement and fear of missing a discount had me rushing the purchases.
And thank you for all the info you have posted when it comes to linking the tix, etc.

Well I bit the bullet and booked two rooms at YC for our trip. S nervous as I've never booked outside of Disney before. Going to get tickets separate too and o dining plan:( oh well. I haven't canceled my Disney reservation yet so I can still change my mind:)

So do you have to call Disney and link the Travelocity hotel ressie to the system? How do you get Magical Express? Who sends it?

My travelocity hotel ressie was linked toMDE almost immediately... I didn't have to do anything for that. I signed up for magical express on line. There was an online form to enter your info into (from disney....I saw it on another thread....you probably could google it), then I got an email confirmation from Disney saying they got it.
The last CM I spoke to said the only prob he's seen with the travelocity ressie's are people trying to use their tix outside the dates specified on their travelocity tix and people showing up at the wrong hotel....so I guess just make sure your hotel is listed right on MDE. Good luck! When do you go?

What the CM told you goes against what Travelocity told me. Now I have a problem! On hold with Disney right now to get this ironed out.:confused3
