Great Alamo Rate!

Hi, if any of you need a good van rental rate for your holiday in Orlando there is a thread on the Transportation Board. From what I understand you need a COSTCO membership. I signed up for one as it saved me another $100 off our rental in March. We are now getting 2 full wks for $285 in total for a minivan.

I know you cut and pasted the link from the Transportation Board, but you only cut what shows on the screen ... not the WHOLE link. You need to take the link off of the TB and then cut it from the browser URL (like I did) or you can off-click on the link and select "copy shortcut" in IE.

You could STILL use the Costco coupon with the Vacation Outlet ID#.

I'm sure you *will* help someone and I know that many folks appreciate the heads up. I just want people to know that they can probably get the SAME RATE with the Vacation Outlet ID without buying a Costco membership.

Yeah..Alamo is the champ right now!
We got an Uplander minivan for March and its cheaper than all the other companies economies and compacts.
We also are using Alamo for our August trip and I've snagged a Equinox SUV (again cheaper than econmoies and compacts at most of the others including Alamo themselves)

Rates change all the time. I would suggest that you book a rate that you are comfortable with and then continue to check rates. If you find a cheaper rate, book that one and cancel your other one.

I would also suggest that you check MouseSavers (http://www.mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html) for car rental discount codes. I with Alamo for my Hawaii trip, but with Thrifty for my New Years trip since it turned out to be much cheaper.

Can I ask....are you flying? renting the car there? I've not been able to find such a great rate. If it is here can you PM me and help me. I've only got as low as $400 cdn. for almost two weeks as well.

There is no advantage to waiting.
As the previous posters mentioned,when you see a good rate...book it. You can book and cancel as many times as you want ,so there is nothing to lose.
I've booked,cancelled and rebooked 4 times for my upcoming March trip.

I just looked up the price of a minivan for the one night we need it (Sat Oct 14 and will drop it off in the morning on Sun Oct 15) and it quoted me $57.30 for a minivan with the costco discount - is this a good price?? We need a minivan b/c there will be 6 of us and only really want it for the one night/day.

Oh and is Alamo the only rental company to rent a car On site at disney?

I thin $57 for the day is expensive. Where are you picking up? The Car Care Center? Only Alamo and National service the Car Care Center. I get $42.87 (including taxes) for a minivan from Alamo picking up and dropping off at noon using the Vacation Outlet code I previously mentioned. Are you keeping the car more than 24 hours?

Nope. Only going to keep it from 10am until 10am the next day.

I got $57 with the Costco code picking and dropping off at the car care centre. I'll go back and try the other code!
