We'd initially planned to have dinner at Le Cellier, but reading about all the nations' offerings makes me not want to waste the opportunity to sample them. I suggested to the kids that we buy a snack-sized tidbit from each showcase instead, and they loved the idea! Now I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this?? Would it be worth the money compared to Le Cellier? Would it take up a lot of time (standing in line at each place)? What do you think?

Why that is exactly how the Food and Wine Festival is done! Sampling your way around the world will fill you up far quicker than you may think! Lines are tough to predict. Weekends see longer lines. Cost? Again, tough to predict. You may want to share one or two samplers from the booths that appeal to you instead of everyone having her/his own. This will allow you to taste more and could be less expensive.

The samples range from $1-4.50 generally speaking, so yes, you could end up spending more than you would on a "regular" dinner at Le Cellier. (A wonderful restaurant by the way!).

Have a wonderful time and this terrific event! The best the world showcase has to offer!

We love to eat that way. I think that you usually get a little more for your money, since you'll be stopping at counter service places instead of full service. (If you're not going during Food and Wine, you'll have to select from the restaurants that are always there.) Of course, there's also the temptation to try more than your tummy really needs. It probably works a little better with a larger group (DH and I don't have kids yet, so we're a party of 2), like it sounds like you'll have. That way you each don't have to eat half of everything.

This is the way we always "do" Epcot. We always have the samon from Norway, tacos from Mexico, egg rolls from China (my boyfriends sons favorite), french fries from America, beer from Germany, cappachiano (?) and biscotti from Italy, fish and chips from United Kingdom and pastries from France. We do this throughout the day and usually end up back in Mexico to watch Illuminations. Have a wonderful eating time.

We do this every trip. We try a little something from every country. Usually we are spending the whole day at Epcot so spacing your treats throughout the day helps. The pastries in France are phenomenal !!!! Loved the tiramisu in Italy. Tried the sushi in Japan. Margaritas in Mexico are a must !!!!

:p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p :p

We grazed the WS the year we visited with my 72 y.o. mother. The snacks and frequent stops every few "countries" was less tiring, along the fun of sampling the various cuisines.

Surprisingly, we also found OURSELVES relaxing/enjoying the atmosphere more, and noticing more details of the park than during our usual "quicker" pace ;)

Denise < ---- also a resort "theme" junkie, especially at xmastime!. On another trip, did the "monorail pub crawl/appetizers" tour once night, and another night visiting the EPCOT resorts, stopping for drinks and snacks. Was great adult fun!

We love to graze!!!
We go to Epcot a few times each visit to WDW & mainly because of the food (& shops) in the WS!!!

Gave loads of fun MickeyMonstersMom.

lisadam: LOL! I do the same thing!

My favorite grazing snacks are: nachos & frozen margaritas from the Cantina in Mexico, Egg Rolls in China, Lemon Ice from Italy, Lefse from Norway, Brats & Kraut from Germany, Kaki Gori from Japan, Beaver Tails from Canada, Fish & Chips from England, and Candied Pecans & Almonds from the cart vendor!

so is it bad that I graze AND eat full meals?

Not as long as you have at least one pair of pants that you can fit into for your trip home! LOL! I'm always afraid I will have to wear my jammies home!
