Gratuity @ Buffet?

We tip the same amount at buffets and table service. I am a grazer and a sampler, so I am constantly getting new dishes. The CMs have always been great about clearing things in a timely manner. I have no problem leaving 18% for them.

We tip the same for buffets and TS. Since we will be a party of 6 this trip and also have the DDE so now we will be tipping 18% every meal. I do not like this cause generally we give 20% and the % goes down if the service isnt up to par. Now we have to tip 18% no matter what.

No you don't. You can still tip above 18% anytime you want. I personally, will probably be tipping above 18% a lot less because it will be more difficult and I won't go to the trouble to tip a couple of percent more unless the service is exemplary. If you don't believe the service warrents the 18% talk with a manager. Explain why you are not satisfied and express that you would like to tip less. Provided you have a reasonable reason for not wanting to tip the 18% they should work with you. If it is not an acceptable solution to the manager for your tip to be reduced ask how they intend to please you as your experience has not been up to par. If they can't or won't make you happy; don't go back. That's not a restaurant you want to frequent if making their guest happy isn't in their top priorities.

Yes you tip at a buffet, how much is anywhere from 10-20 percent of the bill. We will tip at least 15% unless we get a horrible server.
