Grand Floridian photo sessions

I was wondering the same thing about a group photo pass.

I am hoping some one gets this done and shows us the photos before we leave.

I made our appointment for a 3:30 PM slot...now it just better not rain!

I was told to wear coordinating plain tops. Nothing wild!:rotfl: :confused3 GARSH everything I own is wild! Plus we are eating at Kona after that and I was thinking a bit floral and festive. I guess lime green will have to be calm enough!

They took photos next to a railing, by a fountain, on the beach on a hammock, sitting on a chair witht he family around dad, on a patio. It was like 18 shots maybe? Only ended up with like 3 or 4 "good" shots because the kids squirmed and everyone closed their eyes here and there.

I just called and scheduled our GF photo session. I was told that there is now a $24.95 sitting fee even if you pre-order the CD. If you don't pre-order the CD, the sitting fee is $49.95. So, it looks like the free sitting fee days are over. :sad1: At least they are giving 50% off. It's better than nothing, I guess...

If you've done a GF photo session already, please post some pictures! I'd like to see if it's worth it...

Thanks!

This is also the information I was given when I booked today for 10/19.

My guess is this is much more popular than they originally anticipated, and therefore no longer need to give a discount to get the word out.

Even for $24, it should be a great experience.

Also, I was told that in the case of "bad" weather, they would simply take more indoor photos.

Just got back from WDW and did the photo session at the Grand Floridian. It went pretty well..I don't know...not too impressed with the pictures...unless you're a big fan of the Grand Floridian:confused3 ...the backrounds weren't all that impressive...I added some borders on photopass website so it looked more Disney :). I probably wouldn't do it again..even though it was free (I pre ordered the CD)..but it worked well since we ate right after at 1900 Park Fare.

I called the other day to book the session for October. I was told that there was a $25 sitting fee if you prepay for the CD. I do plan on checking that when I call to confirm the appointment just prior to arrival.

I just pre paid the cd , but why did I get a confirmation that it was being shipped?

I think the following will help clear up any confusion. It seems that they send you a certificate with a number to enter when actually purchasing the CD, which will make the cost at time of purchase $0.00.

"PhotoCD - There are a couple of big ways to save on the PhotoCD. First is by pre-purchasing PhotoCD before your vacation. By doing so, you will save $25 off the price of PhotoCD. You will be emailed a coupon code specific to you that will zero out the cost of the PhotoCD when you're ready to order it. The best part is, it's satisfaction guaranteed. If, after your vacation, you decide you no longer want to purchase the PhotoCD, you can get a refund (restrictions apply, see site for full details). "

P.S. Last year our luck with photo pass photos was big time YMMV - out of 40 shots there were only 5 truly good ones worth printing - I would recommend like the others getting as many shots taken by each photopass CM as possible to increase the chances of having more "keepers".

Okay so if I pre-purchase my Photopass CD this week for my December trip, I can still get the GF photo shoot for $25 instead of $50? I know they just changed it from free to $25, so if they change it from $25 to the full $50, will I have to pay that, or since when I pre-ordered it was only $25, just pay the $25 for the photo session? Also, does anyone know for sure how far in advance you can pre-order the PhotoPass CD? Thanks!!!

Do you still have to wait 30 days to book your session?
Yes you have to wait 30 days.

Yes if you pre-purchase CD, bring email confirmation and photo session is 25.00. 50.00 if you don't pre-purchase CD.

For all of you who have used this service already, do you think that it is worth the cost? I'm still trying to decide what to do.

Any thoughts will be most helpful.

We did it for free last week. I do think it is worth the $25. I believe you would pay more than that for a sitting fee at Sears or JCPenney. We got several good shots worth framing or with Christmas Card potential. For our shoot I felt like the backgrounds were generic enough it just looked like a nice photo shoot--tight shot of the staircase, a window at Mizner's, fountain, beach, garden. Only 1 or 2 that were really GF, but I like the GF decor.

Plus, for the $25 plus the pre-purchased CD you get the copyright so you can make as many prints in whatever sizes you want for a reasonable price, rather than what a lot of phot studios charge for prints.

My DH and I booked today for 10/23. The girl who helped me was not very helpful. I was hold that if I preorder the cd I will have to pay $25. We will be on our honeymoon so I am hoping that we get so nice romantic shots. If anyone wants to share some of there pictures, that would be wonderful.

I'm wondering if it's worth it, too. I was really excited when it was free with the pre-ordered CD, but I'm not sure if I want to spend $25- having the photopass photographers take our photos is fun, but we took our own GF photos for free last year with great resuts, so it's hard for me to justify the cost.

Anyone have any to share yet?

My Photopass CD shipped out today!! As soon as I have it I will upload some shots.

I agree that I could've taken photos just as good of my DSs, but having all 4 of us together was worth it to me. Plus, I'm not very familiar with the GF, so I would've gotten the beach & fountain shots, but would've missed some of the inside areas. If you're very familiar with the resort you could probably do even more.

Thanks so much, booking mine tomorrow for late October. We are staying at the GF, so this will be great to have some nice pics of us at our resort! Maybe one will be good enough for a Christmas card pic! Thanks again to everyone posting info! You DISers are great!

Can someone explain something for me? If I do not pre-order the CD, I pay a$49.95 sitting fee. For that I get the pictures on a photopass card but I have to purchase anything I want to print out later, right? Or do I get a CD with just the GF pics on it?

Also, the prepurchase price of the CD is $99 plus the $25 sitting fee or you can just buy the CD there for $125, so essentially no benefit to prepurchasing now, right? Unless we hear that you can do a photosession on a shared photopass CD deal, right?

We will be there in December so I am thinking it would be great to get some family pics near the holiday decorations. :) I just want to be sure I am understanding this correctly before I present the idea to DH. ;)

I ALSO called this morning for 10/25 photo session and they told me tht there is now a $25 sitting fee with the pre-purchase of the photo cd...That is still a great deal! We are so excited to get some great photos at out hotel, the GF! I am so excited!
