For 13 nights, the Magic Kingdom View is about $500 more than the Lagoon View. Is this worth doing? Can you see the fireworks or Electrical Water Pageant from a Lagoon View? Are you guaranteed to see fireworks from MK View?

We ended up in both types of rooms last August (due to a leaky pipe). We had paid for GV, so the upgrades were nice.

From our lagoon view in Big Pine Key, we could see the Polynesian and wedding pavillion. It was very nice.

From our theme park view room in Boca Chica, we could hear the music from Main Street and the train whistles. We could also see the castle and BLT over to the side. We also saw the fireworks. I don't remember about the water pageant.

I'm not one to splurge on views because we do not spend a lot of time on our balcony, but both views were nice, especially for us since we did not pay extra for them.

I'm not sure what's worth it to you. Certainly, seeing the MK was magical. The lagoon view room was very nice but not as special as that MK view.

I absolutely love the mk view rooms! It depends on your budget but whenever my budget allows I always do the park view! Its the best!

No you are not guaranteed to see fireworks or the EWP from your MK view room at the GF. This was our view when we checked in last month:

Behind the tree is Cinderella Castle. Since we paid for a MK view room, not a tree view room, we went back to the front desk and very nicely asked to move as the view was not acceptable to us. We couldn't move until the next day. This was our second room's view:

Hope this helps.

I am so glad you got that castle view the 2nd day! That TREE view would of really mad me ill!:headache:

Mousefan1972, what building were you in? The first one looks like Conch. At least you got the good view the second night. Were you able to see the EWP from that room?

Thanks! I was a little perturbed at having to deal w/ the hassle of changing rooms after 1 night, but in the end, it was worth it.

Both rooms were in Conch Key. The first room (aka "tree view") was on the 4th floor and was a corner room with a vaulted ceiling. It was HUGE, and had a second balcony facing the marina. Very pretty, but I paid to look at the MK, not the marina. The CM's at the desk seemed surprised that I wanted to give that room up, since it was so large. Had we paid for garden or lagoon view, I would have been thrilled with it. But since we paid for MK view, it wasn't cutting it. The second room was on the 3rd floor of Conch Key, a few doors down from the 1st room. We could see the first half of the EWP. The second half was blocked by Narcoosees.

We changed our upcoming trip to garden view. I don't understand how the GF charges so much more money for a MK view if it's not of the castle. That's the whole idea. At the Polynesian, an MK view is the castle. If a tree is blocking or if it's not a direct view of the castle, that is called a lagoon view.

If castle view was guaranteed at the GF like it is at the Poly, I'd get it. But even at the Poly, I would just do garden view near the pool. From the pool and the beach right by the pool, you have a great view of the castle. At the GF, it seems just as easy to walk outside and watch the fireworks.
