Has anyone eaten at the Grand Floridian Cafe recently? I have searched threads about the restaurant but can't seem to find anything new. I was planning it for our second evening on our December trip because I want to order a cake for our 11th Anniversary and have it brought to our table for dessert (a surprise for DH).

I have read the menu and it does have a lot of item's we'd like.

Thanks for your help!

We just ate there for the first time in February. We were supposed to go to DTD that night but were just too tired so I got a last minute ADR. We were very happy with everything! DMIL and I had the Shrimp and Prosciutto Penne Pasta which was very good. DH had the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger which he thought was one of the better burgers he's had at WDW. DSIL had the Prime Rib which she like also. We actually plan on going back during our next visit, I give it a :thumbsup2

We had both lunch and dinner at GF Cafe three and a half months ago. Food was excellent both meals. Service was great at lunch. At dinner, our server was attentive but things things came out rather slowly. But it was very busy so the kitchen may have been overwhelmed....start of Marathon weekend.

We do lunch there virtually every trip. It is a family favorite.

I love it there. A girlfriend and I had drinks and dessert there while our dd's were doing the teaparty with Alice at 1900 Park Fare back in '01. Then, last Oct, we traveled to WDW, just the ladies and our dd's, to celebrate the girls turning 13. On my dd's actual birthday, we had lunch planned for GF Cafe. I had a beautiful cake ordered. Well, after eating breakfast at Crystal Palace, no one was hungry enough for a full lunch. But, we had drinks, coffee and the beautiful cake.
You'll be very happy with the Cafe...the service was incredible, and the GF Bakery is wonderful, the best in WDW IMHO!!!

We had dinner in November at the cafe - there were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our dinner very much - the pasta was good, the steak and the fish were all delicious. We were pleasantly surprised and will go back again.

Enjoy!
