Well, we made reservations with a very rude CRO who asked for all of my personal information, which was just inappropriate. Luckily, our requests were on the reservation when we got to the desk (after nearly an hour wait) but none of them were granted. I'd requested a dehumidifier for my allergies, an obstruction free view(there were huge trees right outside the balcony), two double beds (my husband sleeps in a different bed at home so that's what I'm used to--put us in a king and forget it! No sleep!), smoking and extra firm foam pillows for my lower back. Nothing was right and the rate was still the full amount. I fumed. We couldn't cancel because couldn't make an earlier flight without penalities, so we were taken to our concierge level main building room and were prompted by the rude bellhop for a hand-out. He didn't actually put out his hand but I got that sense from him after he put down our luggage inside the room, so I gave him a few dollars. You think that the room rate would be enough, but no. You were nickel and dimed everywhere.
So anyway, I knew I was in for a vacation with no sleep but I wanted to see the concierge lounge. The food was okay...just some hors d'oeuvres but I'm on the Palm Beach diet and nothing was in my plan. I asked for other selections and they suggested room service (for an extra fee). No surprise there. :rolleyes1
We walked around the first night but the sand on the resort's beach was the man made kind that really sticks all over you. Hubby wasn't happy about all the sand I tracked in (though I actually saw more on his shoes than mine).
The parks were okay but I was always tired because of the bed situation. We had a magic kingdom view but the castle has the monorail line in the front of it so it kind of ruined the effect. I did like the electric parade. Aside of the trees, we had a pretty good view. They need to update the music though--it's like "Little Mermaid theme" circa 1989. I'm not kidding. Madonna age.
I thought the hotel was stuffy and overpriced, the stores in the lobby were ones I'd never heard of (come on, what about a nice Victoria Secrets?? It's supposed to be a Victorian hotel!!!), and the elevator always took forever. They should put a monorail to get to places around the resort like they have in the Contemporary.
The worst part was hubby and I got sick and were charged extra cleaning fees for our sickness, which wasn't our fault. We got to drinking at Epcock and after a loooong monorail ride, our stomachs were pretty queasy, to say the least. We even got charged for messing up the concierge lounge, and hubby only got sick in there once. It was horrible. Then our room was so bad smelling but they wouldn't move us. We spent the last day recuperating by just eating the snacks out of that refridgerator, but then they charged us for all that stuff, too. Blew my diet and my budget, and how are you supposed to know its not included in the room if its in your refrigerator?????
My last stay on-site. Never again. 7000 and no sleep for a week!!!

I'm sure it's obvious but this was meant to be a joke :). Just having some fun lightening up the mood for newcomers who hear so many bad comments. Disney resorts are great! (and grand!)

Ladyhawke10, I knew your post was all tongue-in-cheek. Thanks for the chuckle. I hope that if you did vacation in Walt Disney World, that you had a wonderful time.

Janet

:rotfl2: I second what my friend Janet said...LOL :rotfl2:

Oh my!, I started out thinking who on earth does this person think she is, then about halfway through I started to chuckle and realise that it was tongue in check

I'm lovin' your requests

Particularly the dehumidifier for the allergies and the smoking room - classic!

Wow,

That was great. You really got me. I'm usually the one that does these types of pranks.

From one prankster to the next. Very well executed. I still can't believe you got me.

:rotfl: :rotfl2:

You had me going - thought you guys were nuts :wave2:

:rotfl2: That was funny! I didnt know it was a joke at first! I was sitting here reading it thinking, wow....this cant be for real.... :rotfl2:

LadyHawke....did you steal those ideas from trip advisor? :flower: That about says it all. However...I'm sure there will be people that say "I know just how she feels" :rotfl:

Yikes! You got me. I didn't realize this was a joke until I got to the part about barfing all over the concierge lounge. LOL.

Gotta admit, you had me. I was thinking "this chick is too high maintenance, no wonder her DH sleeps in a separate bed." :rotfl2:

Oh man, you definitely got me, I was so ready to fire off a scathing reply. Well executed.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You got me too until I reached the part about the manmade sand. I was thinking...this doesn't sound like Ladyhawkw10?! :earseek:

Thanks for a good laugh.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You almost had me... Right from the start I was wondering (hoping!) it was a joke...but then I wasn't sure until I saw the part about wanting a Victoria's Secret in the lobby!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Very entertaining! :teeth:

Well you got me good. I loved the part about Victoria's Secret onsite. Good job for poking a little fun. I've been reading too many serious complaining posts lately.

All I kept thinking was this lady really is from the whine country.

LOL :rotfl: :rotfl:
