We are planning a trip to Hawaii September 2023 with a stop in Disneyland on our way back. I’ve looked at the point charts and why is there such differences? This year ithe points were a fraction of what they are for 2023. Does anyone know why? It seems like they are missing the standard point chart

That’s the hotel exchange. So Disney can set that however they want. Basically the rack rate of GCH increased so the point cost has increased, or the value per point (think of rental rate) decreased requiring more points to cover the rack rate.

The VGC are the only rooms when booked through your membership that won’t change costs on average. Unfortunately the hotel rooms have only gotten more expensive at DLR

You might be better off renting on your own. Take the cash rate for your trip divide by the points for the trip that’s the per point that Disney is paying you. Sometimes that is more than what you could get renting on your own sometimes less. But the advantage here is no tax implications and simplicity so how much are you willing to give up for that is on you.

Thanks. I am a dvc owner and I was going to rent from an owner at GCH to insure getting a studio but I was trying to figure out the number of points I am going to need for the end of September 2023. Hopefully it will be the same as 2022.

I just found this on the Points Charts page, which implies that the 2023 charts for VGC are the same as the 2022 charts:

The 2023 changes only affect Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. They do not impact Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi.

Thank you. I wasn’t sure if that’s what they meant because the aulani point chart was up.

Our April welcome home stay will be our first actual stay on property.

Coffee any good or should I bring my Nespresso machine from home?
You're going to love it. I bring my own Williams-Sonoma stainless steel French Press.

Very nice. Walked through there many times but never stayed. Our April welcome home stay will be our first actual stay on property.

Starbucks. Just drove over for dinner and decided to sit in the lobby and enjoy my java before heading home.
