Has anyone done this at the Floridian. I know my DD6 will love it and DS9 is the one I'm unsure of. A couple of years ago, I wouldn't think twice. But is he too old? Are the kids closer to the 10 year age limit girls?

Do I pay for this when I make reservations?

Thanks

Well, in 20 days my 6 yr old dd will being doing it for the 2nd time. She LOVES it. There where mostly girls and they all seemed to be 10 and under. I would let your son deside if he wants to or not. There where some boys in her class, but mostly girls. They make their own chef hat (decorate one that is) and they make their own apron (decorate again their own to keep) and then serve the parents and others before being dismissed. You are given a beeper so if your son wants out they will page you. As for paying, they make you give a Credit Card on the phone when you book, but then you can pay cash if you want when you get there. She said she felt like a CHEF! It was cute.
I hope this helps.

My DD (9) will be doing this activity in March, so I don't know too many of the details. But, I do know someone who took their 9 yr old nephew and he really enjoyed it.

My 2 DD's, 9 & 5 did this on 12/23 just before we left for the airport to come home.:(

I do remember seeing about equal amounts of boys and girls, but oldest DD and another 9 yo girl where the oldest there. There were quite a few younger kids, so I think having some older kids helps out with the process. They did run alittle over 5 minutes late.

They made worms in dirt and had a blast. They ate it in the car on the way to the airport and I ate mine when we stopped for gas and DH filled the tank. It was good and DD's love their hats and aprons. Actually had them on yesterday afternoon when they decided to play "chef" while DD9 friend who is a 9yo boy was over and they came across Emeril on TV.

If it is something that DS would like to do, I wouldn't have him not because he might feel out of place. Isn't that we all love Disney so much, cause we can feel like a kid again?

My 7 yr old DD did the Cooking class for the first time in October and she really had a great time!!!! Again, there were mostly girls in the class (maybe one or two boys). On the day Allison did the class, the age range of the kids seemed to be about 6-9.
All the kids seemed to have had a great time, when we went to pick them up!!

Also, I did have to give my credit card # when making reservations; and when we went to check in, the credit card had already been charged - all I had to do was sign the receipt. (Same thing for the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party)

I would also suggest leaving it up to your son - if he wants to attend, I'm sure everyone will make him feel welcomed. If not, maybe you could do something special with him!

Enjoy!!!

My DD has done the class twice, loved it both times. Both times mostly girls, both times ages 5-9 yrs with a 4 yr old the first time. Have you looked into the Pirate Cruise that they also do from the Grand Floridian? Maybe he would like that more?

Thanks everyone!

DS did the pirate cruise when he was 6. DD, 3 at the time, did the Tea party. I am still not sure what to do. He might like it. Well, I'll have to pick his brain a little. This trip is a surprise for the kids so I can't just come out and ask him.

Thanks again.
