*Graduation Celebration*~Taking the Rat to see the Mouse!

That's my life exactly.

Let's just go back to Disney World and forget all of this real life stuff!

Sounds like a plan! But can we wait until after finals? I would hate to have wasted this entire semester :rotfl2:

For some reason I never sleep well the night before a trip, especially when I'm going to DISNEY the next day :goodvibes and this trip was no exception. I woke up early and had nothing to do until Ann arrived to take us to the airport, and it was horrible! I couldn't sit still because I was so excited! When she finally arrived we threw our stuff in the car and we were off to the airport!

We made it through security with out incident and decided to grab some lunch before getting on the plane (this was my grand plan, to feed us early so that when we got to POP! I could convince them that we should go straight to MK) Once we were finished with lunch we headed to our gate and we found that our plane had just gotten there and we would be boarding right away :cool1:

We had really great transportation for the most part of our first day! Our flight was non-stop to Orlando but it felt like forever thanks to the 4 year old that sat behind me and slammed the tray table up and down and kicked the back of my seat for the entire flight! While the mother said nothing for most of it!

When we got to Orlando we went right down to ME and boarded a bus almost immediately and were on our way! POP! was the first stop so we were there in no time.

Here's a plug for the on-line check-in! Its a real time saver! When we got there there was a separate line for those who did the online check-in, so instead of waiting behind 5 families we only had to wait behind one and they already had all of our keys printed and ready to go! We ran up to the room and dropped off our carry-on bags. At this point Ann and Patrick were saying that since it was 6pm and MK closed at 8pm we should just go to DTD because we would never get anything done, but I (the wise one :goodvibes) convinced them that if there was a bus to MK when we got down there that we should get on it and go!

And guess what! Right as we got down to the bus stops a MK bus pulled up with almost no one in line for it :worship::worship: We were in the MK by 6:30! And we walked onto HM and POTC! By 7pm we had done my two favorite MK rides! We got Dole Whips and managed to watch the end of Spectro! We then decided that we would go to DTD and eat at EOS.

This is where the transportation fairy decided to leave us for the night...

We decided that we would take the first resort bus that came to the MK and then get a bus to DTD...well that didn't work....we ended up waiting at WL for 30 minutes (we did get to see part of Wishes from here)...we then decided that we would go to EPCOT and just get a bus to POP! and eat there...bad idea. EPCOT had EMH that night, but was closing for non-resort guests by the time we got there, and apparently lots of POP! people had decided that they didn't want to stay at EPCOT...the line was huge :scared1: So then Ann decided that we could ride the monorail to the TTC and get a bus to POP! from there, now I said that you can't get resort busses there and Ann said that you could...guess who had their Disney facts right?

Yup, that'd be me! So we made it to the TTC and then ended up going back to the MK (where we started at) to get a bus to POP!....We made it back at 9:30, two hours after we had first tried to leave the MK :lmao:

We ordered a pizza and went back to the room....we had a tough decision to make...do we get up early for EMH at DHS to ride TSMM as many times as possible? Or do we take it easy and sleep for a bit?

UP Next: Do we beat the crowds and ride TSMM? Or are we too tired and decide to sleep in?

Yay!! I'm so glad that you started, with or without the camera. Thanks for giving me more of an excuse to put off doing my homework :rotfl2: (also...I found a new means of procrastination: baking! I can't do anything right now though b/c we don't have the stuff that I need for what I want to make)

What part of Pop did you stay in? I can't remember if you told me.

That stinks about the ordeal trying to leave MK -- I hate it when you try to save a little time and it ends up just not working. At least you were in Disney World though -- I think that anywhere else it would have been like :furious:

UP Next: Do we beat the crowds and ride TSMM? Or are we too tired and decide to sleep in?

I know this but I'm not gonna answer :upsidedow

Hope you're having a good day!

Thanks for the insight into the online check-in -- I was eager to hear from someone who has tried it -- you have now convinced me! :goodvibes

What a lovely way to start your Disney vacation with POTC, the Haunted Mansion, and Dole Whips! :thumbsup2

What a kicker about the bus situation! :headache:

Glad to see you started your trip, even if there's no pics yet. :thumbsup2

I'll just close my eyes and imagine you and with your Dole Whip! Yummy! :goodvibes

I think I'll give the online check-in a try. Anything to make it go faster and get to the parks right away. :)

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't posted any more TR stuff lately....Patrick and I came to a decision last week and have been going through the process of applying for the College Program. I have my interview today (Monday) at 1:20 and Patrick's is tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:40. Because of this I am busy trying to figure out what to say to the interviewer when they call me....Wish me luck! :goodvibes

Good luck and lots of pixie dust!!! :wizard: That would be so cool if you got accepted into the CP and went to work for the mouse! :goodvibes

Wishing you the very best of luck as you go through your interviews! :cheer2:

The College Program would be an awesome experience! :cool1:

Let us know how it goes today.

Good luck Katie! Really looking forward to hearing about it :goodvibes

ETA: You probably already know this, but the CP site has interview tips. Can't wait to hear about it!

So....My interview went really well. The girl was wonderful and was very positive and upbeat which made me feel more relaxed and confidant....Patrick's interview on the other hand was less then perfect. It seems like everything that could have gone wrong did...his problems included them having his name spelled wrong on his interview registration (comstock vs bomstock!) then his application had apparently never actually been submitted even though he had the email confirmation, then the computer froze so the guy had to call him back, then they had him registered for roles that he hadn't checked...it was just one thing after another and it only served to make him more nervous when they finally got to the questions!

I'm super anxious to hear back so hopefully it will be really really soon for both of us!

So...what did we decide to do??????? I've left you hanging for over two weeks now, so it seems like its time to let you know what we chose to do....

None of us slept well our first night at POP! In fact Ann and I were both awake at 6:30am...at that point I asked Ann if she wanted to get up, but her reply was that her feet weren't ready yet :rotfl: We did end up getting up and we made it to DHS by 8:30!

I had gotten my directions a little mixed up, so when we sent Patrick to get fastpasses for TSMM I told him to go left at the HAT, luckily it didn't take him long to figure out that I didn't know what I was talking about! The wait said 40 minutes, but it was actually about 10 from the door to our cart!

We rode TSMM and by the time we got out the line was really short so we hopped back in line and rode again! This ride is awesome! It is now one of our favorite rides at DHS (considering I don't do thrill rides, this is my favorite!)

After riding twice we decided that we were hungry so we went and got breakfast at Starring Rolls... the usual fair, muffins and juice. After that we went back and used our fastpasses for TSMM....

Once we had gotten our fill of TSMM we decided to walk through One Man's Dream...I had never been and Ann and Patrick hadn't gone in in a long time...

We then headed over to the Animation something or other to see Ann's favorite person...

After seeing the main Mouse himself, Ann really wanted to see the new American Idol Experience...it was better then I thought it would be, but I'm not sure that I would sit through more then one showing of it...When we got out of this we decided to see if TSMM had a long wait...and boy did it ever! I think it was up to about 90min at this point! Too long for us! We decided that it was time to leave DHS for the day, but we did run into a friend before leaving the PIXAR area...

We decided to catch a Friendship boat to EPCOT (first time on the boats!)

Upon arriving Ann found a few friends that we had to stop and see

(This is my last pic for that day, not sure why :confused3)

We managed to ride Soarin' twice, Patrick and Ann road Test Track and then Patrick headed to Mission Space. We then had lunch at Sunshine Seasons and I convinced them that we had to ride Spaceship Earth at least once since they have updated it (we didn't do it in Japanese though Meg!)

We then headed over to the Visa Meet & Greet and had pics with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. We got our pic printed and then decided to head over to POP! The original plan called for us to head over to either DTD or MK for dinner but we made a startling discovery...daylight savings time was starting the next day and that combined with the Princess Half Marathon meant that we had to be on a bus by 7 to make it to the MK for our tour (which was going to feel like 6am to us!) So we decided to just get dinner and stay at POP! for the evening and turn in early.

Up next: Do we make it in time for our tour? Or do the runners slow us down????

A 40 minute wait that turns out to be only 10? Now that's some nice Disney magic! :wizard:

6:30 a.m. is nice for peaceful walks around Pop. I've had one or two of those...or a few more. :)

Thanks for sharing Toy Story pictures!

I love your pictures, I was so excited for an update! Whenever we go there next, I NEED to do TSMM. The queue alone looks so cool.

Well why not?! :rotfl:

I think that we did it in German at some point, too, because Kailyn and I always ended up sitting together and we traded off picking our futures, and in Kailyn's case, the languages. Next time, I'm riding alone or with someone who cares about the narration :rotfl2:

I can't wait to see & ride TSM! It looks so cool and fun!
Your short wait time was amazing. :thumbsup2

My DD wants a pic with Sorceror Mickey and the Army guy....I hope we get as lucky! :goodvibes

Cute pic of you and Pooh, Tigger and Eyeore all together. pooh: :eeyore: :tigger:

GOOD LUCK WITH THE INTERVIEWS, I HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT! pixiedust:

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't updated...the end of the semester has a snowball effect, but luckily it will be over after Thursday...Saturday Patrick and I get to start moving in to our first apartment  I can't wait to be off campus!

I ended up getting a pending letter from Disney, which means that the latest I will hear would be June 1...I really really hope its before then, but who knows...

The next few days are going to be really busy for me, I have a paper due and a test tomorrow, two presentations and a paper on Tuesday, a presentation on Wednesday, and back-homework and a test on Thursday....oy, I am not looking forward to this week :scared1:

I will try to update this weekend! Have a great week everyone!

So Patrick got his rejection letter in the mail this morning....but luckily he is planning on taking a course in the Fall now, so he can reapply for the spring semester. My status is still pending, but whatever it is, I will most likely be turning it down.

Sorry to hear that, but most things turn out for the best with the right attitude. I'm sure that a year from now you guys will look back on it and know it just wouldn't have been the right thing for you at this time.

Hi everyone...

So I have decided that I don't like moving....way to much unpacking to do!

We have to be out of our dorms by Saturday, I have to have the apartment clean by Friday because Patrick graduates Saturday and all of our families will be up over the weekend, then Meghan is here on Sunday, so maybe by Sunday night I can update! Lets shoot for that, 'kay?
