Ok, this is going to be just a really quick rundown of our weekend in NYC. I have about a billion things that I have to do this week and not enough time to do it in. The point of this trip was to go with the Art Club (I'm VP) and come up with an exhibit for our academic festival that is in April. We had decided ahead of time that we were going to do NYC through the Artist's Eye so all of my pics are really random stuff and weird angles, not your typical touristy photos hence no pics at this point in time.
Friday 2/27
We got to the airport at about 6:15am and boy were we glad that we went early! The security line was three rows deep

Luckily they opened up spare rooms to get people through in time! Some of our group were even bussed to an alternate location to get through! We made it to our gate and only waited about 20min before they began boarding. The flight was uneventful and we arrived in NYC on time.
Once we got to the hotel check in took about 45minutes because there was some issue with us being a large group and them needing money for bellhops (who never actually touched our luggage). After getting to our rooms Patrick and I decided that we were going to go off on our own for the afternoon. So we headed to Times Square. We had lunch at this really great pizza place/deli called Carve then we headed over to the theater where The Little Mermaid on Broadway shows. We were able to get student discount tickets for that nights show for $30, front row.
After buying our tickets we decided to head out to Rockefeller Center and do some shopping there. We visited Nintendo World and the World of Disney. I bet you can guess which store I purchased stuff at
By this time we were getting a bit tired and hungry (again) so we headed back to the hotel to change and get ready for the show. The Little Mermaid was awesome! The ship in the opening scene is one of the coolest pieces of scenery I think I've ever seen! If you get the chance to go I highly recommend it

After the show we were supposed to go to a comedy club with some friends but it was late and we were tired, so we ended up just going back to the hotel to go to bed.
Saturday 2/28
Some how we managed to get a somewhat late start each morning of the trip, but I still feel like we squeezed a lot into 3 days. Friday night before we went to bed we had made up a lose game plan to follow for the day.
We started out by taking the subway up to Central Park where we were planning on cutting through to go to the Met. Some how we managed to get lost on the curving paths but we did end up making it there. We spent a couple of hours wandering through the Met before we got a call from some friends who wanted to know if we wanted to go to Grand Central Station.
So we made our way back through Central Park to the subway and on to the hotel to meet up with them. We ended up taking a break at the hotel for a few minutes to rest up before heading to Grand Central Station (by this point just about everyone in our group of 19 had aching feet!).
We ended up eating lunch at GCS (Juniors had wonderful cheesecake

) then we split up again. Patrick and I walked around GCS for a bit then decided that we needed a couple of pictures of the Flat Iron Building, so we headed there. We literally got off of the subway walked up, took a pic, and got back on the subway to go to the hotel.
By this time it was about 6pm and we were tired. So we ended up resting at the hotel until about 8pm when we decided that we were going to go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for dinner. It was really really good! And we only waited 15-20minutes and got a table looking out on Times Square! After dinner we went to Toys'R'Us and Virgin Megastore for a bit. We were back to the hotel and in bed by 12:30am.
Sunday 3/1
In our defense this day we were forced to get a late start. We had to meet our group at 10am to move all of our luggage to one room and go through the check out process. By the time we finished this it was almost 11!
When we got done with that we decided to go with a bunch of friends to GCS (again) for breakfast/lunch and then to MoMA. GCS was mainly uneventful and we made our way to MoMA (we would have been there a lot sooner if some members had gotten off at the stop that I told them too, but oh well).
After spending a few hours at MoMA we decided to head out on 5th Ave to FAO Swartz (sp?). They have a giant stuffed dragon that I would love to own, but I didn't feel like buying 12 plane seats to get it home, it was huge! After shopping around for a bit we made our way back to Times Square where we decided to duck into ESPN Zone and just have some appetizers before meeting up with the rest of the group to head to the airport.
We were able to make it to the airport with time to spare, but we could have taken longer. Our plane was coming in from Boston and we ended up being delayed 10minutes. When the plane finally did get there we then had to wait 40minutes to de-ice, so we were a bit late getting out of NYC. We arrived in Buffalo a bit late but otherwise fine.
That was our trip. Sorry that its not very detailed, but there really isn't much to say. Hopefully I will have more to say about Disney
3 Days!!!!
