gradtchr's back on track (comments welcome)

I have recommitted (AGAIN) but this time I mean it I am on this for life and I am going to lose the pounds. I've done good with exercise and need to update my times but not so good on the eating.

Today:
B-cappucino shake

d-something with chicken (barbecue chicken w/ grilled sweet potatoes and a salad)
s-maybe pudding we have that at the house

workouts: biggest loser dvd will be warm up boot camp cool down (became just stretching)
I also see the elliptical being used tonight as well.

That's great that you are getting your food back under control. It's amazing how easy it is to let it go and how hard it is to get back on track. But you can do it! :cheer2:

Way to go with recommitting. You're going to hit that 149! You were right about the taco pasta salad. Its delicious.

My day today:

s: bar
d: grilled chicken tenders w/ buffalo wing sauce, salad, i massacred the brown rice so none of that

Goal for tomorrow 120 minutes of workout

Rice is tough. We have a rice cooker and I love that thing! It is a pain to clean, but makes perfect rice every time. I usually make a big batch that will last all week...

Great job on the food intake! Those 140's are closer than you think!

Workout plans for this weekend: 23 mile bike ride

Wow, a 23 mile bike ride? My butt gets numb after about 5 miles... Have fun!

I agree with Amy, thats one long bike ride. The furthest I've ever ridden at one time has been about 10 miles and that was a few years ago. Nothing gets my rear end & upper legs in shape like bike riding. I don't know why I don't do it more often. You're going to be in awesome shape!

One year ago this month Dennis and I started our journey for life following the Body for life. Weight wise I am slightly lower than I was last year size wise I am a lot smaller so I am really thankful for that. Last April I was wearing a size 14/16 wedding dress (motivation for losing weight) by June 1 my dress could not be altered down. I am now happily in size 10 shorts and some size 8 shorts. After reflecting on this all day I have a plan in mind. I am not upset that I am not lower in weight I have done a good job getting in shape and I aim to improve that as training progresses but I do have some new goals in mind that I want to achieve.

Starting April 1 (today) I will work out 540 minutes a week
Starting today I am changing my weigh in to Saturdays (if April 1 was on a Wednesday that would be my weigh in) so during April I will weigh in on Saturdays. My weigh in this morning was 151.6 my goal for next saturday is 151.1 I want to challenge myself to lose .5 each week and I know I can do that if I focus on what I am doing. I am going to start doing 100 crunches each day during April which is also doable. Making little changes to my daily schedule is going to help me in leaps and bounds. I have a new pedometer on it's way from Amazon so that I can make sure I am walking 10,000 steps a day. I am also going to add in some jumping jacks after trips to the bathroom at work (that will help wake me up). I can't wait to see what April holds! I am going to be successful!!

Now for my day today was a free day:
b-none
s-chocolate marshemmow egg
l-steak (large) mashed potato salad, grilled asparagus, and a piece of apple pie
s-banana
d-cappucino shake

We had my parents over to show off our new grill. We have used it so much this week and I absolutely love it! Our cats also showed off with all their tricks and they got to see the bunnies and verify that Middie was doing ok. The bunnies used to live with them and were spoiled so they love seeing them. :) Midnight aka Middie is still doing great and I love her so much. She is really an inspiration to me and she's just a bunny! She's really shown that you can overcome obstacles and keep on shining. I love her!

Those are awesome goals Beth! You can do it! :cheer2: You have made great progress already and I know you will continue to get healthier every month. Jumping jacks at work? There is no way I could pull that off without someone turning me in to Medical...

You are so great with your pets, I bet you will make a great mommy someday (if that is in your plans of course ;) )!

I'm lucky my office mate already knows I'm nuts and she's even more nuts. If I start doing them she will too. :D

My day:
b: shake of the cappucino variety
s-none
l-2 cheese enchiladas, some chips, and abuelos' papas YUM!
s-south beach diet bar
d-wrap

Workout: we forgot to reup our park pass this year and we can't get one at the state park we visit so we went and rode our bikes at the park. We did not go 23 miles because it gets really really boring riding in circles. We did ride on a nature trail and I am very proud to say that I was able to ride down the rock stairs without stopping or putting my foot down then I took a very steep hill full force and made it to the top without falling or stopping (dh struggled with this one)

I had another huge non scale victory today as well. There is a dress that I wore for a wedding about 8 years ago that represents when I was at my smallest size. I have not been able to wear that dress in many years to say the least but I have kept it in hopes that one day I would be able to. It has gone from not being able to fit over my legs to where it was today I was able to not only get it on but I was able to zip it ALL the way up. I can't breathe in it yet and don't like the way it fits quite yet but being able to get it on and zipped is a MAJOR accomplishment for me so I am THRILLED!!!

I also got my 100 crunches in. :D

Good morning,

Wow Beth, you have some great goals! I know you will be able to stick with them!!!!

hope you had a great weekend. Keep up the great work.

Happy Monday!

Beth, way to go with the dress!!! :cheer2: Definately a major accomplishment! Thats exactly what I did with size 12 shorts when I first started losing weight. At first I couldn't get them over my hips, then I couldn't zip'em, then I couldn't sit down in them - Now, I wear them zipped, snapped & sitting down! It was a great way to measure the changes we've made.

You're in size 8-10!! We weigh close to the same and I'm still in my size 12s. I posted in my journal today that last time I lost weight I wore a size 8 when I was 139. I'm 10lbs heavier and 2 sizes bigger now. At this rate I don't think I'll be in those 8s when I hit the 130s. I want to get back there again!!!

That nature trail sounds fun. Wish I could get dh to do stuff like that!

My day:
b-oatmeal to go bar
s-banana w/ 2 cheese sticks
l-wrap
s-south beach diet bar
d-soft turkey taco w/ an avocado
s-fruit w/low fat cream

Workouts: I am back in the groove and I am so HAPPY!!!!!!
At work I kept my goal of doing jumping jacks after every trip to the bathroom and did a whole lot of them thanks to all the water. :rotfl2:
Then DH and I took a 45 minute walk 2.3 miles to be exact. It is hard to walk on campus at a fast clip like we are used to because everyone slows down right in front of us (think slow motion and that's how it feels)

Then after work I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the arc trainer, 15 on the elliptical, and 15 minutes of upper body weights.

I will be doing crunches in a few minutes. YEAH!!

Great news about the dress!! Isn't that the best feeling when you try on something you know was too tight? I have some Size 6 shorts I still can't squeeze into - that is my goal for this summer.

I'm glad you are back into your exercise routine. That dress will fit perfectly before you know it! :cool1:

Woo Woo! Great job with the workouts! :yay: :yay: You fit in all kinds of exercising all thru the day. You are going to look amazing this summer! After yesterday's post about trying on smaller clothes I went thru my closet, found my old size 10 shorts and tried them on. I could zip, snap but not breathe. I've got awhile to go until those fit me.
