gradtchr's back on track (comments welcome)

We have am/pm and the regular one and I'm switching back and forth, easy to say since I've only h ad them a few days. :) Have you seen results from using them? Granted we're using them with a lot more activity but was wondering if they really work as advertised.

Yes! I think that if you do it as instructed (ie proper breathing, holding muscles tight, etc) it has FANTASTIC results! Have you done any Pilates? I think that you get similar results (lean, toned muscle but not bulky) but I think they are a bit quicker because it is a bit harder. If you are doing extra activity (maybe for cardio, etc) that sounds like a GREAT combination!

Wow! :earseek: 270 minutes of exercise is wonderful! :goodvibes It sounds like your bike ride was a good one. ::yes:: You are definitely adding lots of minutes to your exercise challenge! Way to go! :cheer2:

Hope you have a wodnerful Monday! :sunny:

Yikes I didn't post last night what was I thinking??

Tink-I own a pilates tape but haven't really used it because I start laughing at the instructor so hard that I can't breathe which really does in any type of workout. I might need to find a new one if I keep this up (which I am going to I shouldn't even say if anymore)

Toystory-yeah 270 minutes I was impressed!! and the majority of it was constant motion which is great for me.

Well yesterday was our 100% free day on BFL eating wise. Saturday kind of was too but yesterday was our planned day off.

B-none
60 min callanetics w/ hubby (I love the fact that he is doing this with me)
l-jasons deli-spud au broc lite w/ cup of fruit and a small ice cream
s-none
d-chili's. I ordered a steak fajita pita w/ fresh veggies and hubby got a cracked peppercorn burger. I got half his burger he got half my pita. We split spinach artichoke dip (I am addicted to that stuff and if we see it as an appetizer at a place it is guaranteed to be on our table) and then took the molten chocolate lava cake home to eat. Mmmmmmmm sugar shock.

I did do bicep and triceps at home last night but did not get the full workout I had wanted. Laziness kicked in, darn it!

Oh well that was yesterday and today's a new day so I will get that weights workout in today no worries.

I'll post tonight about the day but so far it's off to a good start. I learned a valuable lesson this morning do the WATP before doing a callanetics/stretching tape. I did the AM workout of the tape and then tried WATP that didn't work so now I know and will switch it for next time.

Huge feeling of accomplishment here: My shoulder has hurt and ached for a long time. There was one Christmas I didn't think that I would be able to go down for the family christmas because I was in so much pain. I went to PT for 6 months and it improved but didn't go away. For the first time this week the pain had disappeared. I noticed it when I woke up one day and felt different and I finally realized that it doesn't hurt anymore. YEAH!!! I am apparently using my muscles the correct way now and the knot that was in it has untied. WHOOO HOOO!

Glad to hear your shoulder is getting better! I think that so often when we get in better shape some of our "ailments" heal on their own! Keep it up! :goodvibes

Well Halloween wasn't that bad for me.

30 min workout
b-egg enchilada
s-apple w/ low fat caramel
30 min walk to and from lunch
l-french onion soup, peas, beef bourgenouis (sp) roll, potato, chocolate mousse w/ chocolate ganasche (sp) ate with my dad (I love being able to eat with my parents, this time dad only)
s-no way could i fit food in after the lunch (portions at lunch were NOT large but was very filling)
d-small omelette w/ ham, potatoes, cheese, onion, pepper, 1 lofthouse cookie, 3 corn tortillas
s-1 lofthouse cookie
evening callanetics with that I will have gotten 3000 workout minutes completed for October. OMG!! I never would have thought it was possible.

Thanks for stopping by my journal. Man, oh, man do you work out or what? You remind me of Sunny (plutosmyfav)!

I am just trying to make exercise a truly regular part of my life each and every day right now. It makes me feel so good when I do make it a priority too!

Hope you have a great day!

Happy Tuesday! :sunny:

Hi There!!!!!

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Sorry I am a little late. I am still so crazy busy!!!!

You are doing such a great job. Keep up the good work!

Congrats on the Size 10 jeans! Isn't that great to fit into stuff that you never could have before? I have a pair of Size 6 jean shorts I'm still waiting to get into...

If you like Pilates, I know of 2 DVDs that are awesome. One is Pilates for Dummies (the intermediate session, not the beginners) and the other is Pick Your Spot Pilates. You are doing great, keep it up!

jay-nee Thanks for stopping by. Making excercise a daily part of the day is so hard!! Hubby asks me everyday what happened to me because he has never seen me this motivated.

eeyore25-glad to see ya dropping by. I understand a crazy busy life!

lovinaz-fitting into clothes is definitely the most important thing to me right now. I am going to look into those vidoes as soon as I can. Got to let my paypal account build back up after the big spend on it this month. :)

Well today I woke up with a renewed sense of I can do this! I got on the scale this morning so I could see what my weight was for the Christmas Challenge. I was at 152 and I'm not thrilled but ya know what I am not going to focus on that number anymore. I also did my body fat today and it was 36% which is so much lower than it was when I started my weight loss journey three years ago it was at about 52%. So that's a great and wonderful thing!

I got up 1/2 hour earlier today so I could get more done before work.
30 min WATP
30 min callanetics/stretching after
b-1/2 english muffin, 2 slices canadian bacon, 2 slices tomato, 1/2 orange
s-apple w/ lowfat caramel
l-3 oz barbecue chicken w/ 1/2 whole wheat bun and 1 cup cucumber/tomato vinegar salad
s-ff/sf chocolate pudding and 100's pack cookies
30 min walk to and from gym
30 min walk/run (I ran my first mile only walking 1/16th of it and made up for that at the end)
30 min weights
30 min callanetics/more stretching
d-turkey burger patty, 2 slices tomato, onion, 1 slice cheese, 1 small potato cut into homebaked fries, coleslaw, pickle
s-cookie

I am loving this workout schedule/routine I know this is sojmething I am going to be able to keep up this month!! Hubby and I have to figure out turkey day plans, we know we're going to see his family but we need to figure out how to incorporate workouts while we are there especially since there is going to be a ton of food around.

Wow you are doing GREAT! Keep up the good work! You're an inspiration to us all!!!

I posted the recipe for Speedies in my journal in case your interested! Have a great day today! :sunny:

Thanks Desiree I'm going to go look now!

You are doing great with your eating and exercising! I wish I had all that time to work out, but with 2 kids, there is no way!

Congrats on lowering your body fat percentage by so much! What an accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself. :cool1:

Keep it up! :cheer2:

Sounds like your crazy workout schedule suits you well. Great job! Yeah, I can just see my ex-H thinking I was insane. Funny thing is before I met him, I exercised like crazy. Some people like to watch TV, I like to be busy! Harder with 2 kids at home all the time (homeschooled), but my DS likes to be busy too, so we hike, bike, and snowboard together. DD isn't as active as I'd like her to be, but she'll rollerblade occasionally and sometimes walk and hike too. She's taken snowboarding lessons and is talking about trying it again this winter (praying)! That would be so awesome. I'd love her to be more outdoorsy, but she's so cool anyway I can't complain! ;)

Well, I really do have to get outside and feed the pony - it's dark already! Argh! 5:10pm and dark, just not fair...

Happy Wednesday! :sunny: Keep that momentum going! To 145 we go! :teeth:
