GPS for Iphone

Does anyone use a GPS app and accessories for the Iphone? I see that the standard GPS companies offer them (Magellan, Tom Tom, etc). If so, what do you like/dislike about yours? Recommendations?

We just replaced our Garmin GPS with the Navigon app for iPhone. So far we like it, but it's only been a few months and we haven't used it extensively. But it works well on our iPhone 4 - better than it did on our 3G phones which we just replaced.

My only recommendation is that you DO NOT purchase the in-app add on ($9.99) for the 3D maps because they have not updated it yet for the new iPhone OS. So we have that, but at the moment it's not working - which is getting more irritating all the time, but it's not a thing that's needed to use the app - it was just a nice extra thing.

I use a nice little (free) app called "around me" Its not as nice as my stand alone gps, but it does give you turn by turn information, and highlights traffic areas.

Vicki, I'm getting the new Iphone4 this week, so thank your for the tip. I'll save the money on that one.

Elfbo, I also have the Around Me app on my phone, but I'm looking for something that will function like a full GPS (talks to me, etc) on my dash.

I just bought Navigon USA and Canada for $39.99 (regularly price at $79.99). Other USA regions and countries are also on sale until 08/15/2010 per Navigon sites.

also Copilot Live USA for $4.99 + $2.99 text-to-speech (TTS) lifetime can't be beat. I don't need one-time in-app purchase of $19.99 Live Traffic and Fuel Prices.

Neither TomTom or Navigon has this offer: 30-days free trial for full featured GPS navigation app with premium features such as 3D maps, Lane Assist, etc.

Copilot Live Directions (USA and Canada) has a 30-days free trial. After 30-days, if you choose not to continue using the premium features (turn-by-turn voice navigation, live traffic via in-app purchases), Copilot still gives you standard turn-by-turn, door-to-door directions throughout the USA and Canada for FREE - along with the option to upgrade to the full version (Copilot Live North America) at anytime.

I prefer Copilot Live Directions (USA and Canada) and Navigon USA & Canada.

Since this thread popped back up, I thought I would just say that Navigon has fixed their 3D map problem with an update (the $9.99 add-on) and it works just fine now on the new iPhone OS.

MotionX GPS Drive is 99 cents, then you pay as you go for live voice guidance. I think the first month is free, then it's $2.99 for 30 days of live voice guidance. It's doesn't bill you every month -- so you only pay when you use it.

I think it's a fantastic app and the best pure value in GPS.

mapquest has a pretty good free map app. It does has voice turn by turns.

Beautiful display Panorama View 3D with valley and mountains using NASA stuff.

Can't imagine how it will look in future updates for Retina Display.

I wrote to Navigon asking when are future in-app purchases for City View, Landmark View, and Red Light/Speed Cameras, etc....their response is work in progress...

I have the Navigon for my iPhone 4 too and love it,
It was all on sale recently including the in app purchases of traffic live (for $9.99) and 3d Maps were $4.99

I think the app is $39.99 on sale,

I did a LOT of research before buying a Naviagation app and found the Navigon one to be the best reviewed out there,

and every charge is lifetime, there is no monthly or yearly charges for anything, I like that
