Jackie...I'm another vote for rechargable batteries I love them...they were such a godsend and I didn't have to worry about having a lot of batteries...just remembered to charge each evening and I never had to worry about low battery once on my trip!!

Well, this was the weekend of changes for me.

First, Saturday morning I went to get my hair cut. It was too long and frankly, just out of control. I told Danica, my hairstylist, to work her magic, and she did.

I really like it. I can straighten it or curl it or pull it back with a hairband or wear it with some cute rhinestone clips that I bought at Kohl's.

Second, after spending the weekend drooling over Trixiequilt and 2excited2sleep's AKL photos, I realized that while Beach Club is super nice, it isn't my heart's desire. I kept trying to convince myself that it was, but it wasn't working. So, I went to my second favorite website (after the DIS boards), the WDW reservation site, hoping that there would be an AKL room for the 4/3 deal. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. However, WDW kindly kept showing me Caribbean Beach Resort instead.

For $875 less than my current Beach Club vacation.

That's a lot of money. That's a lot of money that tends to make me feel a tad bit guilty in today's economy.

I talked it over with Charles over morning coffee -- mine in my Tinkerbell mug and his in his Mickey Mouse mug (yes, he picked it out himself) -- and he agreed with me.

But I still felt bad about switching, because it is Beach Club at a pretty substantial savings.

I hemmed and hawed and soul-searched for most of the day. The bottom line? We are moderate people. We like our large food courts and our parking close to the room. If I can't have AKL, then, I would rather save money and lounge by the pirate pool.

Yes, I am addicted to resort changing.

I called Disney and changed to CBR. I feel better and the kids are just as excited -- especially after we revisited the pool pictures. Connor also likes the idea of his kid's meal being served in a sandpail.

I am done switching...unless...AKL...suddenly...has...a...room...available. Then, all bets are off.

And look: I even covered my bases by making an all-purpose ticker -- I even felt bad about sending Tink back to the beginning of the countdown.

Aw, CP. I think you made the right decision for your family and yourself. I will cross my fingers for you that AKL has a room available but I know that you will be happy at CBR if that doesn't happen.

I know you were looking forward to the Beach Club, but you were partly to blame with your gorgeous pictures of the grounds. I even went back to your first day and looked at them all again earlier today.

Chicken nuggets are his favorite meal!

I totally support your economics... but am sad you cannot get the resort you really wanted. (part sad too you left my beloved WL a long time ago) I too am a Moderate girl and the Carribean Beach pool could make me cave in too!

$875 is certainly not small change, so if we don't get AKL (sniff, sniff, sniff), I am certainly reconciling myself with that.

I figure we are bound to make it to all the resorts before we are finished. The pool looks so neat and since they have a pool bar, I decided we would have everything we need.

I think you made the right choice in switching, if it saves you that much money! Think in fuzzy Disney math- the money you saved can now pay for souvenirs and food for the trip!

FYI CBR is really nice, just make sure you check out the online maps and get a room thats good for you, its rather a large resort and when we stayed there we had a walk and a half to the food court from where we were. If you go in knowing where you wanna go then it shouldn't be any problemo for you!

The new pool looks awesome, you will have so much fun in it!!!!

They only had standard, not preferred, rooms left so I requested a room in Aruba or Jamaica since it looks like it is just across the bridge from the main area. We are such pool people when on vacation that we are looking forward to playing in that great new pool!

My dear Jackie---I knew the resortitis bug was still running amuck in your system!!! I could JUST tell!!! I am seriously crossing all fingers and toes for you that an AKL room opens up---keep checking and calling---you just never know!!! Alas I will miss hearing about BC, but CBR is good too!
