Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Very cute, Jackie!

I had that same gingerbread house kit in my hands yesterday. I didn't buy it because I don't know how I'll keep my daughter from eating it as we go. She's not much on payoff and she's big on instant gratification..... so you'll have to post pix of the finished project!

So.... what of it for 2010? Hmmmmmmm?????

You have to take pictures to share with us of the kids and the elves making the gingerbread house. I have a feeling it will be more wonderful than the Grand Floridian one!

I am freezing up here in Tennessee today. I was going to go up to the attic to get some more Christmas decorations, but it is too cold to go up there. I have to remember next year to drag it all down in October with the Halloween stuff when it's a few degrees warmer.

I need to think Beach Club thoughts to warm things up!

Your elves are busy little fellas. My classroom elf left candy for the kids yesterday, and they were thrilled. It is amazing how one or two little pieces of candy can brighten a kid's day!

Your elves are SO creative! Wow!!! I especially like the batman/shaving cream scene but they're all great. And I'm sure your gingerbread house will turn out great! You'll post photos?? The house the kids made for the elves looks awfully cozy... they may not want to go back to the North Pole...

Isn't this terrible? It's about 16 here today. :scared: Our tree doesn't have it's tree skirt on because it's not in the house and I dont' want to go to the garage to get it!

Jackie the elves are so cute and the mischief they get into is too funny  I really liked the beach scene and the night they got into the shaving cream, what tricksters ;)

Today we had snow for the first time this season up here...it was super windy too. How about down there?

Thank God we don't get snow here! LOL It's pretty when it's falling but that's about all the snow I can handle.

Jackie: love the pictures of those mischievious elves!

Oh those crazy little elves!!!! They are quite the mischieveous pair!!!!!

I think your house will be BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW FUN!!!:thumbsup2 :cool1: What a great/clever thing to do!! I LOVE the elves and want some of my own! You are very brave to keep them around after the glitter incident:rolleyes1 The WORST mess to clean!:goodvibes

There were a couple of times I wondered if there was a way to send them back. Luckily Haddon and Ingrid kept the glitter confined to one spot.

Where do those mischievous little elves come up with these antics?!?!

I don't know -- they just seem to magically find things to do every night. ;)

I love the elf house! We had our own elf arrive this week by the name of Drew. He's gotten into some mischief himself. I've posted about his antics on my blog (link in my profile).

So much fun! :)

I thought the kids did a good job. They are suckers for an empty box -- I had an order arrive from Amazon the other day, and they fell on that box like a couple of hungry wolves. I went shopping on Saturday, and when I got home, they had made it. I will have to go check out Drew's antics -- maybe he can give Haddon and Ingrid some ideas.

That's funny that you said that about Rachel -- all day long yesterday Connor talked about how much he wanted to eat the gingerbread house. I can't tell you how many times he mentioned it, and how many times we had to explain to him that you aren't supposed to eat it.

I took quite a few while we worked on it that I will post soon. I don't know if it is quite on par with the GF one, but we had a blast decorating it.

It has been freezing here, too. Charles coaches the middle school soccer team, and he keeps wondering if it will still be this cold when practice starts in January. I need a tropical vacation.

Too sweet! It really goes to show that it's the little things that count, doesn't it?

Thanks! I will post photos -- I am planning an update later tonight since today was originally supposed to be my ADR-making day until the reservation system went down. I figure I will go ahead and post my dining plans and the gingerbread house decorating.

Ummm, they're going back to the North Pole whether they want to or not. ;)

It was freezing here, too. 24 this morning when I woke up. I don't think I stepped out of the house yesterday.

Thanks! They are fun to have around for a couple of weeks.

Snow? I want snow so I can have a day off from school! Lucky duck!

Jackie: love the pictures of those mischievious elves!

Thanks! We almost never get snow up here either -- I wouldn't want it all the time, but I do like waking up to a pretty wonderland scene and a scrolling ticker that shows which schools are closed. :lmao:

I love the snow, just not driving in it!

Down here in the South, there is no such thing as driving in the snow. When my parents moved to Ohio in 1994 (I had already moved to Georgia), my brother was 8. The first time it snowed up there Michael said, "What do you mean I still have to go to school???" We buy milk and bread and hole up in our homes like it is a blizzard. :rotfl:

I love snow.........if the end result is a snow day!:rotfl2:

Amen! :goodvibes

They might be running out of ideas. :scared:

Thanks! I think it turned out cute -- I was so nervous because we have had such a time with assembling gingerbread houses in the past, but then one went up like a dream!

We got our first noticeable snowfall over the weekend, but it was not much by our standards---only about an inch. Megan is so dying for a really good snow so we can go out to make a snowman. We are supposed to get snow off and on all week, so one can hope her wish will come true. I really enjoy the snow up until Christmas, and then I like the "pretty" snows we get in January and February, but the icy, messy snows that we often get can go find a new place to bother---they are SO annoying!!

Well, I thought I was going to be able to update tonight, but Charles is hogging the other computer (where I download photos) to play LOTR Mines of Moria. :sad2:

I guess hobbits trump elves tonight.

Hey Jackie - do you know about this thread?

Everyone posting about their elves. :)

Thanks, Carissa! I am definitely going to check this out tonight once the kids are in bed. My elves need some help.

Pretty snow would be super -- no icy mess though, thank you very much.

I hope Megan gets enough snow for her snowman this week. :goodvibes

Your elves are so cute and clever!!

How did the gingerbread house turn out??

It looks kind of like something out of a Salvador Dali painting, but we had a great time making it. Connor wants to eat it though and keeps getting mad at me because I won't let him.

I love seeing what your elves did!

I love your elves and their antics. I finally had to order my elf on-line. I went Christmas shopping in Des Moines over the weekend. Guess what? There is not a single elf (besides the creepy Elf on a Shelf) to be had in the entire city - trust me - I stopped EVERYWHERE to look. They must all be visiting homes in the area already. :confused3

Are the elves okay? No injuries to report in the remote control vs tree incident, are there? Can't wait to see what else the elves can get into.

Hi Jackie!!!

I've actually had your PTR bookmarked for a couple weeks, but I finally got a chance to read it and get all caught up!!

I love the elves... they're crackin me up:rotfl:
The leprechans visit us every St Pats day... and turn our milk GREEN.... so we have green scrambled eggs, and mac and cheese...anything made with the milk...for about a week:lmao:

:rotfl: In high school and the first year I was in college I worked in a supermarket and trust me, people act like the world is coming to an end when they hear anything about snow. They MOB the supermarkets and clean them out :lmao:
