Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I have just subscribed to your PTR because we will be going to WDW June 9-18, 2009. It will only be our second trip for my husband and I. The last time we went we were in high school. It will be the first trip for our two children ages 11 and 6. They just can't wait. We have our hotel reservations. They were booked through a friend that is in DVC so we are staying at Old Key West. I am also reading your other TR from this past summer so I can get as many ideas as I can on what to do & where to go eat.

Hey--I just wanted to shoot you a comment (I doubt CP will mind)--but we stayed at OKW this past June (around the same dates even) and I would HIGHLY recommend asking your friend to call Member Services and request the Hospitality House location for your reservation---that is the best area to stay! It is right next to a bus stop, the main hospitality area, the pool, marina, playground, and restaurants. We were in building 14 of that area (I believe the HH area is buildings 11-14). Have a GREAT trip!

MegansMom, I second Charleston Princess on that. Go and see the Christmas decorations. You will love it!

Well, I lost that battle last night---I still don't know where we are going, but DH ruled out a WDW trip for money's sake---even with all the glorious discounts, he felt it was going to be too much. WHAT!!! Men!!! ;) Luckily, our November trip last year was right after Thanksgiving, and we got to see all the GLORIOUS Christmas decorations and special events---it was wonderful!!!!!

Well, at least you have had the privilege of seeing Disney at Christmas. Isn't it amazing? I can't wait to see it again at the end of November!

What about Gatlinburg for a trip? There are many things to do there, and it's not quite as far to travel. Lots of unique shopping places, things for the kids, pretty winter decorations...

You could always pretend you are just spending a lot of time in Frontierland at Disney! ;)

I love your pins!! You are really making me want to go on ebay. I can't even go on there anymore because of the pin addiction. I did buy a shadow box recently for my pins and finally had the chance to put all the pins in them today. It looks awesome. I will have to take some pics of it for you. I got a 12 x 12 shadow box and it just fit my pin collection. Clearly, I have a problem. I got a special Chip & Dale Wilderness Lodge pin. I only found it at WL too. So there is something else to entice you to not resort hop. :rolleyes1

What a cool idea! (and a perfect reason for me to buy pins...it's art!) Please share a pic on how it turned out! :flower3:

I think that actually may be top on my list right now---they have all those pretty Christmas lights and decor up at the beginning of November. Maybe if I try really hard, I can imagine I'm down at WDW with you looking at those beautiful lights!!!! Trust me, we will try to make it as Disney-like as possible!!! ;) ;)

Ooh, I am coveting those chip and dale pins.

There's nothing like it -- I wish I could see them every year!

I did think of you, Jen, and your stay at OKW -- I was hoping you would chime in with your thoughts on it!

Sigh -- I guess sometimes it MIGHT be a good idea to go other places. :scared:

Yes, please!

My goal is to take a picture of it sometime this week so I can post it on my TR. :goodvibes

Hurray! :yay:

I will be eagerly looking forward to hearing about your vacation wherever you decide to go!

Ooh, I am coveting those chip and dale pins.

:welcome: Thank you! There are so many on ebay -- I am sure you will be able to find some, too. I think most of mine were around six dollars (that was including the shipping).

WantedJackie's list of souvenirs... yes before she goes so we can compare to what she actually comes home with:rotfl2:

No seriously... are all the great CBR pics swaying you to stay there? I love the idea of the zero entry pool, but with your kids that does not really matter anymore! I do however hope you stay at the WL.... I so cannot wait to get your opinion on it, plus we found it was so quick to the other parks from there. We got to MGM in less than 7 minutes and EPCOT quick too!

I am glad to hear you say that about the transportation from WL. We stayed there but only went to MK and Epcot from there since we did a split stay. It seemed much much faster and more effecient than the buses at Pop.

:rotfl: I am definitely planning on sharing my list -- I only have three things on it so far, so I will wait until I make it a little longer!

Yes, actually CBR is in close running with the other two -- I haven't seen a picture that I didn't like! That pool looks great! It's the horror stories about buses that is scaring me.

I like that you were able to get to the parks without much of a wait!

That's a big selling point since none of us tend to be patient at our house.

Joining in! The Chip and Dale pins are cute!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! Those pins may be my favorite ones right now! :thumbsup2

I'm going to have to find out what items people wish they'd bought when they had the chance... Lord knows I don't need regret AND post Disney depression simultaneously!

No, you don't. My mother's theory is if you see something you really like, you should buy it right then and there. It is usually the things that I thought were cute, but passed up that come back to haunt me. Like the address book with the castle on the cover and the cookbooks. Oh, and the tiles from Morocco that seem to have had a place made for them behind my sink. Those are the things I wish I had bought. Oh, and there was a Tinkerbell mug and...

Annette, you can jump in anytime! Please keep us posted and I think one day at a time is a wonderful philosophy!

I know all of you have just been on the edge of your seats to meet this year's trip binder. In the past my trip binders have enjoyed one look, but apparently this trip binder is a little more demanding. She has three outfits to alternate between depending on her mood (which is finicky to say the least). She wanted to show off all three. The designs themselves came from the thread Resort Designs by Crystal over on the DISigns Board.

When she is feeling rustic and outdoorsy:

When she is feeling adventurous and craving zebra domes:

When she is feeling a little more laidback and dreaming of a pina colada:

Today she has been kind of feeling like a safari-loving girl -- she has even been whispering of concierge level and sunrise safaris (I never should have showed her pictures of MickeyNicki's current stay, or told her about Christine heading there for Christmas). She really likes the purple and orange combination on her cover, too! :rotfl:

Not to be outdone, my signature also wanted options. Here are the other two:

Here's 2010's countdown for Chelsea's 13th. Isn't it just the prettiest thing you have ever seen? Sometimes I go to my email just to look at it!

Hmmm, which makes me wonder -- is it too early to start 2010's trip binder?

Oh boy. She sure is purty. I'm not sure which ensemble I like best. You are a tease showing us all three! ;) I also like your tickers. Especially the GF one. I don't think it's too early for 2010 planning at all! :rolleyes1

You.

You are going to be the death of me with these options! :lmao:

I must start the WL portion of my TR so that you can be swayed back over to the Forest Way. :rotfl2:

I love the fact that you already have 2010's ticker all ready to go. You are too adorable. It's never too early to start a trip binder!

I love your three trip binder covers!! All lovely options!! Just think, wherever you end up, it is gonna be awesome!! At least I only have to choose between POFQ or CBR. WL is only an option if great AP rates come out!

I am not sure which I like best, either. Although if I had to choose today, it would be AKL all the way.

You.

Yes, perhaps it is time to start the WL portion of your trip. That might help. ;)

It's really so pretty, isn't it? If nothing else, there will be no resort drama in 2010.

Hmmm, that is a loaded statement if I ever saw one. Is there something you aren't telling us, Lynn? Something to the tune of you are planning on buying APs again? (How I wish there was an eyebrow raised smiley)

You could just stay at Howard Johnsons on I-Drive :lmao:

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Funny girl.

Somehow this ticker would just not cut it:
