Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

I was a couple pages behind, so here is my late CONGRATULATIONS on quitting smoking!!!!!!!!! That is an incredible hurdle to overcome. GO YOU! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I cannot throw in a vote for the Great Resort Debate...but after our trip IN ONE MONTH, I will give you more pictures and details on how WL is. I've never heard a poor review of it yet!

Now, I'm off to read Lady Lallie's TR for a bit (or at least subscribe, gotta get some sleep soon!). I love reading TRs of those staying at the same resort I am! Makes me soooo excited!!

Oh, and I'm with ya on DVC. Someday when the economy is more stable...

I am really looking forward to your thoughts on Wilderness Lodge since you stayed at and loved AKL the last time. Although, to be honest, I started reading Out of Africa this evening and now AKL is looking better and better. I am hopeless. :rolleyes1

So you're the logical one? If Mitch said let's go, I'd pack right then! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, I am the logical one -- although with Disney my resolve never really holds up. ;)

Mental note: Need to start "storytime" with BF to:
a.) coerce him into next year's currently "solo" trip
b.) stop calling Disney "THAT" place and
c.) buy me shoes.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Storytime has so many uses.

The other day Mitch and I were out at Epcot and he randomly said something that sounded like he really liked being there. I was totally shocked and then he tried to act like he didn't say it. :goodvibes

Tonight, Charles tried to claim he had never okayed Rose and Crown -- which he so did when I showed him punkin413's photos -- incidentally, tonight's storytime was about the best desserts at Disney World according to the Unofficial Guide.

DVC is definitelyyyyy a dream of mine too...but at 21 there's no way for me to afford that now. How about in 10 years when I have a nice cushy teaching job, 3 little kiddies running around and a hubby who loves Disney like I do...until then we can only dream :cloud9:

That's such a nice dream, isn't it? :goodvibes

You are going to drive me bonkers over the next 8 months! :lmao:

The resort changing/waffling is too funny. I am so the opposite.

The more time that passes since I grudgingly booked WL over my dream resort BWI the more I'm really looking forward to it and don't think I want to even look into renting DVC points. I'm even contemplating changing one of my POP days to another WL day.

Of course all bets are off on my 3 night POP stay. I've been tempted to switch it over to POFQ, because I think I'll be missing my home away from home too much if I don't stay there. Sigh. Maybe the waffling is contagious?

Book more WL nights! :wizard:

The other day Mitch and I were out at Epcot

Oh to be able to say, "The other day as I was approaching the big drop on Splash Mountain...."

or

"The other day as my GMR tour guide was run off by some mobster with a HORRIBLE Jersey accent..."

or

"The other day as I contemplated the Yeti's pedicure, or apparent lack thereof..."

::sigh::

Why yes, I AM envious of your proximity to the World!

I wish I had your fortitude! I think part of my problem is that it is just too easy to change resorts -- one phone call and a "have a magical day" later, and I have a brand-new resort.

Book more WL nights! :wizard:

I agree!

The dis boards are just filled with enablers! It's so dangerous around here!

Very, very dangerous -- at least we are a fun group.

Me too! :goodvibes

Our problem is that all of our family now lives within minutes of us (my parents even moved here a few years ago), and we would miss them sooo much! We need to convince a whole lot of people to move with us. :scared:

Yea, all our family still lives in Memphis and we miss them, sort of. :rolleyes1

How did I miss your new PTR???
Ok, now I'm going back to read!

Hey sorry to butt into the trip report, but I am also from Memphis. My sister just moved to Austin and Mom is on her way. I think we've convinced all the family. But we can't get our friends to move here. Do you know anyone who still likes Memphis? I loved it when I grew up there, but it just isn't the same.

 Yeah, there are some days that the family feels too close -- not too often, though.

:welcome: Cherie, I am sooo glad that you made it over here!!! :goodvibes

I remember driving through Memphis when I was little to go see family in Arkansas -- I was always awed by the Mississippi!

I lived there 25 years and never liked it. I think the main thing my husband misses are his friends. It's much harder to meet people when you're older and all the people he hung out with, he knew from elementary school. ;)

I have a new obsession that has developed since our June trip...I think I am going to blame Lady Lallie because she mentioned it on her PTR. ;)

Buying Disney pins on ebay is a very dangerous addiction.

I have not actually ventured into the bidding wars -- I like to "Buy It Now!" There's less stress involved in just clicking that button.

Here are the ones I have gotten so far:

This was the first one that I wanted and found very easily. Chip and Dale eating a zebra dome.

At the same time I thought, "Oh, look, I need the tie-dyed cheesecake pin because Chelsea and I loved eating it when we stayed at Pop!"

Then, I had to continue the theme with the Kitchen Sink -- one day I would love for us to get one of these.

Chip and Dale also apparently enjoy Mickey Bars -- had to have that one, too.

Sadly, I do not have Chip and Dale eating a Dole Whip yet -- but I will have to get it at some point. However, I will not be getting Chip and Dale with the giant turkey leg -- it's just not my thing.

I am trying to contain myself and only buy the pins that were cast member exclusives -- that's how I justify it at any rate!

Oh no! Not you too?!?! I've so far resisted the temptation of the pins but these pictures may send me over the edge. I love Chip and Dale!

So what's your plan for these pins? Are they for display only or will you be a trader?

And totally with you on the turkey leg. :scared:
