Great update, Jackie! I understand that waiting place too well! I was there just two weeks ago!

And I hate the waiting...but I think the worst of it might be over after I got our great package today!

Ohhh, I loved the update. Isn't Dr. Suess the best? The good thing is that you will be soooo busy the next 3 days that the waiting place should not be too painful!

As soon as I can start the final preparations I will be fine! It's just the downtime today that is driving me nutty!

Oh, and I'm not sure about the shovel in my purple locker........I'll have to "dig" down to the bottom and take a look!

I was just out getting coffee and randomly thought, "Jackie's just three days away, she must be going crazy"...and then I come home and log in to find an update about the waiting place. I hate it there too, but you'll be out of there really soon!

That's too funny! Yep, I am going crazy...with waiting!

Urggh! The 3 day wait! It'll go by so fast! I always stress during this time...do I have everything done?

That will be me tomorrow and Friday!

Ok, that book always makes me want to cry too. I don't know what it is but your post made me all teary. Hormones perhaps? We'll all hang out with you while you're in your waiting place Jackie. Not much longer now!

If you're just waiting maybe you should make the wait shorter and leave early. Then you and wigd could hit the World of Disney sale on Saturday morning!

I thought of that, too! I even went and priced a value for one night -- do you know values in summer are $140 a night!!! Sadly, that stopped that idea right in its tracks.

UGGG. I know exactly how you are feeling. The waiting is so hard becuase you are so close. But once you are out of the waiting it will go so fast that you might wish you were waiting again LOL.

I am not very patient about waiting either -- whether it is in a waiting room, in line at the grocery store, or waiting to be able to do things. However, on the flip side, I hate feeling rushed so I guess I should be enjoying the calm before the storm.

Only 3 more days! You can make it through the waiting place!

by the way, that's an awesome book. my boss bought it for me for my high school graduation and i thought it was so cool. i got it for my sister when she graduated and she really loved it too.

Oh what I have missed the past 24 hours!!!! Okay what a cute pickie of Chelsea in the Pirate ears I haven't looked very closely at the make your own Mickey ears, I may have to check it out now! I can't believe you are now 3 days away!!!! Car "ears" cute, btw Very sweet goodie bags, too! LOVE the animal theming and of course literary references always big in my book, and waiting waiting waiting will be over before you know it!!!!

All I can say is "D..G..E" The final three!!!! I didn't even expect that to rhyme !!! Ha!

SOOOOOO excited for you!!!
And totally understand that your family is just not the same level of excitement as the DIS crowd!!!!

OH want you to know that the Bali Gold is the most beautiful pattern, I love it too! That is the one I want to get, still looking at that Mickey bar bag, though!!!

I missed posting yesterday, so here is Day Four's pic:

As you know, today was one of those waiting days -- when I have done everything I can do to get ready except for the last-minute big things like laundry and packing.

However, the mailman saved us from our boredom by bringing a package.

A special Disney package.

From special DIS boarders, Lady Lallie and Jenjolt.

With special Disney goodies.

And a special friend to take with us on our trip.

NOBBY!

For those of you that haven't met Nobby before, he is a gnome that likes to travel to Disney World. He went with Jen a few months ago (her TR is titled Hobnobbing with Nobby), and he went with Lady Lallie on her very recent trip (Tut Tut It Looks Like Rain). Now, he has come to stay with us and accompany us on our trip.

LL and Jen outdid themselves with the Disney goodies: Mad Libs, princess pens, Cars pens, Disney giftcards , Disney magic towels, and Grow Your Own Pirate and Princess. Thank you, LL and Jen! Your generosity overwhelmed us!!!

Yes, when you are in the Waiting Place it is okay to still be wearing your pajamas in the afternoon.

Look! I even got my own Indiana Jones Mad Libs!!! (And yes, make-up is also optional in the Waiting Place. )

So, what did Nobby think of his new surroundings?

Well, beneath his stoic exterior, there was a panicky little gnome who was a bit disconcerted to find his traveling companions submerged in tubs of water.

Deciding to see just what kind of place Nobby had found himself in, he went exploring.

"Hello, ladies, my name is Nobby."

"What's in this next room?"

"AGGHHHHH!!!!"

"They'll never find me in here!"

Nobby eventually got over his initial shock as Chelsea coaxed him out with the promise of his very own mouse ears.

Meanwhile...

Our Resolutions for Our Summer Vacation
1. I will not become impatient when my family wants to do something not in "my" plans.

2. We will slow down and savor the sights, smells, and sounds of Walt Disney World.

3. We will explore every nook and cranny of our resort, and we will make time to try some of the activities offered.

4. We will try new rides, new attractions, new parades, new nighttime shows, and new foods.

5. We will do our very best to enjoy every second of every minute of every hour of every day of our vacation at Walt Disney World.

Three Days!!!

Times like these are too few and far between and you should milk them for all they are worth!

Every year I read Oh, the Places You'll Go by Dr. Suess to my departing 8th graders. It is a wonderful book, and I always get teary-eyed as I read it to my students.

Well, this morning I have come to the realization that I am in the dreaded Waiting Place that Dr. Suess writes about:

"The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a yes or a no
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake,
or a pot to boil, or a better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants,
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.

Only I am not waiting for my hair to grow or a better break.

I am...

Waiting for the mail to come with Charles' checks (why the man doesn't have direct deposit is beyond me).

Waiting to go to the bank.

Waiting to do the laundry the last time.

Waiting to pack the clothes.

Waiting to take Nala to the kennel on Friday.

Waiting to do my last three updates.

Waiting to put the maps in the car.

Waiting for Nobby to arrive.

Just waiting...
