Hi everyone! Just went out to my mailbox to find my new confirmation from CRO for the new room I booked at AKL. I thought it was very interesting. First it's booked as a "code" package now with "room only" on it.

The other thing I thought was weird is that they don't want the rest of the money I owe them for the upgrade. I was originally booked at ASMo and sent in a flat $100 towards seven nights instead of the $86.24 for the one night. Then we decided to stay at BCV for all but one night (Fri=more points) and so I just figured we'd have a credit for dinner. Then when the codes came out I switched that last night to AKL, savannah view for a flat rate of $176 including tax. Well when I got the confiramtion today, it said deposit due- $0. I called them just to make sure and the CRO CM told me that nothing is required until check in, even though they prefer to have it paid for before then. Anyway this was a nice surprise since I thought I would have to send in that extra $76 right away!

Anyone else have this happen when upgrading?

Check, check and re-check. Hate to harp on an old sore spot of mine. But those printed confirmations don't mean squat and they won't stand behind them. (I know from personal experience with CRO earlier this year.)
Since you paid the $100, you may be fine. But don't assume and find out down the road it isn't.
Good luck.

We had the same thing happen. We were booked at Coronado Springs for last November. When the annual passholder rates came out, we upgraded to YC. At the time we switched CRO said there wouldn't be any additional deposit due and when the confirmation slip came it said the same thing. I was pretty nervous about it too! Sure didn't want cancelled, so I called back and checked again and was told everything was in order.

Everything worked out. We got our room at the YC and weren't put out on the curb;)

Glad to hear this happened to someone else. I guess they figure if you already have money invested, that you'll keep the reservation or cancel according to their policies. I also asked if I would need a DC card or anything, just in case, since it was listed as a package and she said no, not at all, they just list their discount codes as packages.

Maybe it is done as a nice thank you for spending more money on a more expensive room! Not likely but it's a nice way to think about it!

When I figure out what requests I want (made this ressie spur of the moment when I saw the codes so I didnt research it at all, very unlike me!) I will call back and verify again atha no deposit is due. Of course, having it in wriitng makes me feel like I have the upper hand and you know I always take my paper ressie with me!

I wouldn't take a chance. I'd send them the $76.00. There have been too many horror stories of CM's and Conf. letters saying one thing then you check in and find out they were wrong.
You know that CRO requires a one night deposit, they always have. So, I wouldn't care if Michael Eisner himself told me I don't need to send more money, I'd send it. Better to be safe than sorry.

I think Disney Club policies have changed and they only require a $100.00 deposit now. However, I would check again just to be sure. Other than that, take EpcotBill's advice. You've got to pay it later anyway.

Just some more reassurance for you. I made ressies for POR and sent in a deposit for one night. Then we changed to AKL and I was thinking the same thing. Couldn't believe they didn't want anymore money from us. I called and double checked and the CM confirmed that the original deposit was all they needed! :D

Thanks everyone! I still plan on sending it in, just nice to know I don;t have to rush!
