GorillaPod

I love it. I can't wait to try it at Disney next month.:woohoo:

It's the SLR version even though I have an S5 IS but he thought the regular one looked too dinky.

Does anyone here have one? Do you like yours? Do you use it?

Love them both! It was definitely a good idea to get the SLR version for the S5, the smallest version probably would have worked but not very well.

Should be nice for some video snippets of osbourne lights.

CODE...Send that pic into the Joby web-site...I bet they would use it for advertising. It rocks.

Do you use them a lot?

This is on my Christmas list. They have them in the L.L. Bean catalog priced under $40 and are offering free shipping.

I love my Gorillapod! I have the regular kind. Last trip, I had it hanging off of lightposts (with my hand underneath to help keep it from sliding), rails, chairbacks, whatever would provide a support so I could get the shot I wanted. It helped quite a bit. Here are a few examples:

(Gorillapod was stood on a Leave a Legacy stone)

Gorillapod was wound around my cousin's stroller handle.

Never heard of this before, but the name intrigued me so I opened the thread.

WANT IT!!

My sister bought me the baby one for my birthday, wasn't specific enough to get the SLR one, oops! It works great with my little Olympus which I use when the SLR is too bulky.

My gorilla-pod gave way on me this past weekend for the first time...

I had my 40D w. a canon 24-70mm F2.8 L on it... and one of the legs snapped.

Hope your camera is alright. Was the gorilla-pod very old?

Mine seems to be a little looser than when it was new (only about a year old) and has trouble holding my 30D and 24-105 securely. I think Gorilla's weight ratings are optimistic, very optimistic.

Do you guys have the SLR or the ZoomSLR one?

I went up to the SLR even though I only have an s5is.

I can't wait to use it. We leave for Florida on Dec. 11th then are there from the 13th till the 22nd.Then off to my folks' place in Southern Florida for 10 days.:woohoo:

I have the SLR-Zoom model. The 24-105 lens places a lot of weight on the front of the camera, you should be fine with the S5 and the SLR model.

I wrote to Joby regarding the issues with my Gorilla, I will let the board know what they say.

I have the ZoonSLR which I purchased early in 2007.... i guess i could have gotten a bad one but I will never risk it again. I'll haul the Benro tripod out there....no cutting corners again.

That makes me afraid to buy one & i have been wanting one for my S3.

Has anyone else had any problems with their gorilla-pod?

Search for discount codes online before you buy. I found several when I ordered a couple of weeks ago and saved $5 plus the website was offering free shipping. I am enjoying mine already and I haven't even taken it out of the house yet!

Good for you!! But please don't do what I did - I forgot to take the shoe to fit it to my camera!!! So, I carried the gorillapod to WDW and couldn't use it at all!!! I still managed to get some good photos, I think, but I would have liked to at least try the gorillapod!!

Have a great vacation.

Hi everyone

Only just noticed this board today!

We will be going to WDW on Tuesday and want to take some great pics.

I have a panasonic lumix tz3 and an slr gorillapod.

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for getting good pics of wishes and spectro?

Where on main street would be best for taking pics? Where could i attach or lean my gorillapod?

Any tips regarding the tz3? Settings etc? I realise its not comparable to the professional cameras you all probably use, but if anyone has any tips of how to get the best out of it, Id really appreciate it.

Laura
