We've been to GK only once for dinner. We had a PS for their opening time of 5:00pm, and wandered over there about 15 minutes early.

There was an enormous line already, and it took forever to get 'checked in'. They just confirmed our PS, took our money, and had us sit and wait to be seated. I think we were finally seated close to 5:30.

Is that typical? I'm asking because I made another 5pm reservation, thinking with two little ones, it's best to eat earlier rather than later. :confused3

It's been like that pretty much every time we've gone. I must say though, we did wait the least amount of time when we went to the dinner opening. What was fun that trip was when Minnie Mouse walked my daughter and I to our table.

I would say that's pretty typical, sorry Alex2k!

I also have a 5pm PS for Goofy's Kitchen for our upcoming trip. What time should we get there to maybe avoid being in back of a long line? I'm wondering how early people start lining up for a 5pm seating?

I wouldn't get there any later than 4:45!

Really pretty much the experience each time we have gone. With a 1700 opening I would agree with getting there at 1645 and things may go smoother. AAA discount of 10% off.

Actually, Alex2kMommy went about 15 minutes early and still encountered a long line so I'm thinking maybe we might have to go about 30 minutes earlier, like at 4:30pm. Do you think people start lining up earlier than that?

I agree, I was thinking one of us should wander over and get in line around 4:30. Though maybe it doesn't really matter. Now that I think about it, it took awhile before the characters began making their rounds. I think we all had our food and were eating by the time the first character came. But once they started, it was take two bites, take a few pictures, take two more bites, here comes another character! :rotfl:

It really is an awesome way to see a lot of characters in a short period of time. And I felt less rushed than I do in the park with a huge line behind us! :)
