Hope you find some good shoes.!!!
Do I remember right...you had new wheels for Princess? Were they ruined?
Pat: Hadn't decided where I was staying yet. I am meeting some folks that are coming in from Alabama and was hoping they would know the place to stay, lol. I haven't registered yet, but my plan is to fly in and do the 1/2 in NOLA and then fly from there to WDW for the Princess.
people!!

The holidays are always the bad spot in training for a WDW Marathon weekend event. Looking to blast right through them and keep my eye on the prize! This will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime event for me.
AnneThis will be my first full and first and ONLY Goofy!!

Hello, fellowpeople!!
Chris, PLEASE remove the question mark from my status. This will be my first full and first and ONLY Goofy!! You are waaaay too kind to think that I could have EVER done this event before!!
Wow, there will be a fantastic WISH group showing their Goofy medals around the park next year!!
Next week starts official training for me. I'm on Pat's training plan..a half marathon a month prior to Goofy. Although, SHE is doing 2 in Dec...The holidays are always the bad spot in training for a WDW Marathon weekend event. Looking to blast right through them and keep my eye on the prize! Keep up the good work, but don't be overstressing..yet!!Anne

I can't respond to everyone (much as that is my MO), so here's a few shout outs!
to everyone who's new to WISH, Disney races, or Goofy. It'll be a wild and crazy ride!
(Hi to Stacey and Henry, which are the last names I saw!)
Not as much as you registering for the Princess 1/2
, since I knew you'd be there in January regardless, but still....
Did your doctor recommend alternate exercise that might help you keep your running conditioning up a little? Maybe an elliptical machine? I used that last year when I injured my back and while I lost a lot of conditioning, I felt the elliptical did help. And, of course, you do have a strong base.
I'm glad to hear you're okay and hope that the repairs to the chair aren't too expensive.
I wish I had an answer for you, but I tend to follow plans for my interval pacing to the best of my ability, and fudge what I can't do. Left on my own devices for speed training I'll default to a fartlek strategy, which isn't the best thing to develop speed. (At least for me. It makes me complacent.) I will say that I think I'm a stronger runner since I've been training on hills--which doesn't necessarily make me that much faster but does allow me to complete distances on flatter courses more easily. Maybe add some hill training? Oh, and I think you deserve a big
for doing so well. Remember you STRONG for 14/16 miles (your words). And that's nothing to sneeze at.
I've done one and said I'd never do another. Heck after the 2008 Marathon I said I'd never do another Marathon. Now I'm saying after my second Goofy I'm done with Marathons and the goofy Challenge. We'll see!
Half's are more my speed. Slow
Why don't I believe you'll be done with them?
I hope to maybe add another 1/2 in November, but I don't know if expenses will allow for that. I didn't realize it was the Pat plan, Anne!
Adding the XT is slightly more challenging, although like Pat and Duane I need to concentrate on such things.
