I finally did a "true" b2b this weekend. I walked 8 miles on Saturday (half of it up and down a steep mountain road) then drove 3 hours to Tulsa for the Route 66 half-marathon on Sunday. The Tulsa route had a lot more hills than I thought it would. Needless to say, my quads are a little sore today. Ha! No PR but I did maintain a 14:30 pace for the half so I'm happy. And sore.
I'm really glad that I don't have to travel this next weekend. I've been traveling quite a bit lately and it's catching up with me....I'm tired. Has anyone tried those little 5-hour energy or something similar? I may need to try these things. My energy level is not what it used to be and I need something to help build it back up. Don't tell me to do more exercising.
Becky - a little late but congratulations on your PR and 3rd place finish! That is awesome! You are getting quite speedy! Way to go!
Diane - you are a machine! Are you going to do a full before Disney? You are way ahead of me in the mileage schedule. There's no way I could keep up with you. Way to go!!!!
Tricia - Hope you're having a good time in the Keys. Congrats on your 5K. Does this mean your legs are doing better? It's frustrating when aches and pains kreep in. I have a cyst on my left foot that's been giving me problems. According to the podiatrist, it's resting on a tendon. I feel tingling and numbness a lot. After about 3 miles into a run, I dont' seem to have any problems. However, the cyst seems to be getting a little bigger. I'm just hoping I don't have to do anything about it until after the Goofy. Sending some

your way just in case you need it.
Jackie - way to go for hanging in there. When I completed my very first race ever - the 2007 WDW half-marathon, I swore during the last few miles that this was it for me. I developed 4 blood blisters and I felt miserable. However, three days after the event, I signed up for the 2008 WDW full.

I guess, like you said, the post-race high can keep you going.
Christine - yay on the change from Delta airlines. Were flying on NWA to Orlando and I've received 2 changes since I made the reservations. Not much difference from the original, though.
Syko - I'm sorry you are having so many problems with your chair. I can't imagine how frustrating all of this has been for you. Glad that you were able to find a part from the factory for less $$.
Anne - I hear you about the DLF at these smaller races. If I'm not last, I pretty darned close to it. I did a PR for the year at a race a few weeks ago but I was still close to last. Most of the participants for the half had finished by the time I was at mile 10. Thank goodness for the marathoners behind me.

Keep up the good work and have fun walking those 16 miles with Pat. It's a lot more tolerable (for me, at least) when I can train with someone else.
Charles - I was there for the San Antonio run. It was HOT & HUMID. Reminded me of Florida weather. I was glad to finish that race!
Duane - good for you for sticking with the mileage. As Anne said and you well know - part of it is the mental game. Way to go for hanging in there. Hope to see you in Vegas! By the way, I eat those pop tarts before a race as well!
Kirsty - Great job on the race and congrats on your PR as well! Awesome!!!! I sometimes wonder what the heck I was thinking about when I signed up for the Goofy. Then I remember - it's the 5th anniversary and the special medal!!! Oh, the crazy things we do for a piece of metal to wear around our necks.
Chris - you sound like you are back to full swing in your training.

Keep up the good work!
Lily - get 'r done...any which way you can. I still haven't done anything longer than a 13-miler. Way to go for getting the miles in! Are your shoes working out better for you?
Pat - as always, keep up the good work. Way to go for following the schedule the way you should! I have no doubt that you'll be able to complete the Goofy! Way to go!
Hope everyone has a great training week and a very Happy Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be grateful for and the WISHers are right up there at the top!
