Goodbye Mickey, Hello Freddy a Carnival Cruise Report-Update 4/1 Final Thoughts Pg10

She's back! Drea, that update was worth waiting for! :cool1: I can't believe it was that hard to get a towel. You're right - everyone on Disney would have bent over backward to help you.
Antigua looks like alot of fun! Loved the music with the George video!:rotfl2: I can't believe what they tried to charge you for the pics!
Good for you - pointing out to your kids how fortunate they are - I was still doing that a couple of years ago when we moved DS to Texas and drove along the Rio Grande in the El Paso area - we were in the truck and they were in a mini van - I called on the cell phone and told them to look across the river and be thankful for where they were born!
I don't like that kind of pressure sales - made us stop shopping in Mexico, and not want to go back to St. Maarten. Almost scarey - they take you to the "main store' where they have your size for sure....:rolleyes1 (okay, I've watched too much TV lately) ;)

You got some nice family pics! Oh! Oh! I hope your card doesn't give you too much trouble. Not a good feeling. :upsidedow

We woke up about 645am (the we being E and I) and got ready.

I went on the balcony to enjoy the quietness and pulling into port and yeah we are docked on our side (the left side which is that again Im too lazy to google it LOL)

^^I just did the work for ya, there! :)

Oh were not going to be alone 3 ships total will pull in
Were they ALL Carnival? Because apparently only Carnival does the GOOD itineraries.....just sayin....

We were worried room service would arived again but at about 715 am we got a knock on the door. Breakfast consisted of fruit loops for all 3 of the boys, bagel and coffee for me (with added kahlua yum).

Glad this day got started right!!

After we were all fed dressed we sent the boys to look for Tito our room steward as we needed 4 towels since ours were not replaced last night.... they said he was no where in site so we told them to find any steward and ask for towels and let them know ours didnt leave any. They came back with one.
So I went out to inquire and the first dude told me Tito doesnt come on till 745, but he would call him, no I dont have time for that I need 4 towels NOW as our excurtion is leaving asap. He just tells me he will find Tito, what seems like hours pass and no Tito or that guy I spoke with so I hit up the next person we see, does pretty much the same thing. Now I know this is cuz Carnival only lets you "check out" so many towels or else they charge you for them. But come on, just get me 4 towels and let Tito know so he can mark it and work it out with him later. I felt like such a burdon instead of a paying customer.

E had even gone down to the disembark area to see if they had any there and asked around but the coke/water/beer selling guy and the photo girl and spa lady all looked at him like umm not my job. He even said to me... you know on Disney this wouldnt have happened every person we asked would have got us like 8 towels not just 4 like we asked for (score one for Mickey already so early in the AM).

Eventually Tito came running down the hall with towels and appologies. So we started out the day a lil pissed off.

...until this.... What a PITA!!!! All of the cruise lines should just do like DCL and put the towels out with no restrictions. Take a hint Carny and Royal...if you put out the crappy scrawny towels nobody will keep them, and everyone will just be grateful for the convenience!!! Geesh.

But that changed quick... we were in a beautiful port how could you not change your attitude right.

Got off ship and started looking for someone holding a sign with our name as they had told us their would be. We, well I book through the Antigua Rain Forest Zip line copany, their combo tour. Which included pick up and drop off at the pier, zip lining, and then a mini tour of the island and time at the beach including lunch (hamburger, fish burger, or bbq chicken) & a drink oh also a beach chair per person.

Sounds pretty awesome to me! You have picked some really cool excursions!!

Traffic? In paradise.. is their such a thing?

Most definitely!!! Trust me!!!

Eventually we found him and met up with another couple and a family of 3. Then proceeded to wait as he was just the middle man and our drivers were still on their way. Eventually our guides came and we went in one car and the other 5 in another. Our tour orignally started at 815 but I got an email moments before we sailed away that said it needed to be changed to 730.

Even better we thought, as we would get back earlier to shop and kids could go swimming on the boat if they wanted. Well we ended up not leaving till 830.. Everyone was a lil pissed by then, we all could have slept another 30mins, or chewed our breakfast at least LOL.

That does stink, extra sleep is something that's hard to come by on a cruise!

Oh well we were on ur way. Our driver/tour guide Michael, was very quiet, almost shy, maybe not awake yet?
Haha! that's what my money is on!

Once we got to the zipline and were all signed up, it was no turning back we told the boys. J was all for it, but P was a lil timid still.
Woo hoo, go P!

I was miffed that they make you put your cameras away so I knew this is where they are going to kill us in the picture/video prices (boy did they).
Boo Hiss!

The 1st zip line was short basically to get your footing/handeling down. P LOVED it as did everyone else. We did 7 lines total, and the last one both boys turned themselves to go backwards and I went no hands, but E he's mister go by the book and follow the rules so he didnt do anything cool LOL.

How does that saying go, something like you can take the man out of the military but you can't take the military out of the man? LOL @ E. 7 lines, really awesome!!! Did i tell you I was impressed with your excursion choices??;)

Once we were done it was time to haggle for pics. They had 22 pics taken and 4 videos one of each of us. These were the BEST ONES... (my suggestion is take a camera and smuggle it on.)

Mmmm..yeah not the best work. I understand photographing an activity like ziplining is difficult but I feel ya on these. Ya pretty much *have* to get them though.

They wanted $30 a person = $120 for 1 cd, not like they were going to put them on 4 different cd's either. So we haggled with them and got it for $60 still killed me after I spent $119 for each adult and $85 for each kid total $408
Whoa...yeah that is crazy $120 for 22 pics and 4 vids? Ouch! good job haggling it down. Who has the poker face in the family (let me guess, you Drea!) I totally suck at haggling. They can read me, they know I will buy them anyway. Sucker tattooed on my forehead, ya know.

I tried for $50 but he wouldnt budge so E just said fine. Then they had the ordasity to have a tip jar at the register.. sorry charlie! P got a shirt that said ME Tarzan for $15 they wouldnt haggle that one either.
LOL don't get Ron started on tip jars. He hates tip jars at counters (for something like this-a shop where you aren't getting service, just checked out) and drive-throughs. He gets fired up just seeing the tip line on the receipt!

We loved zip lining though, feeling like we were flying over the rainforest... my scardycat P enjoyed it the most. E who never says anything was smiling ear to ear the whole time, and J couldnt stop saying that was AWESOME. Overall minus the price gauge, a great experience, another thing crossed off our bucket list.
It really does look amazing. I look forward to trying the "jungle" zipline experience to see how it measures up to my over-water-super-high-up-zipline experience in Labadee!

ah, I'm at work I'll have to watch at home. Hate that. ;) ***Edit Another great video production, love the music, and J's "That was Awesome!!"

We then got back into the vans and they took us to Wellington Well. Our guides told us about the trees, and land etc. It was pretty interesting (again dont ask me about it... hmm wonder where the kids get their study habits in one ear out the other LOL).

A well, huh? O-kayyyyyy....:lmao:
Then we drove about 30mins to Turners Beach.

Postcard perfect
092.jpg

Oh yeah....stunning!!!

We were shuffled to an upper patio and had our drink order taken sodas, beer, or rum punch. Boys all had sprites, I went for an island beer the Wadadli. Equivalent to a Corona maybe I would say. Not my fav.
Interesting!

A while later our food came. Hamburgers were drier then dry like they had been cooking them for hours. My chicken was pretty tasty, I had origianlly wanted to fish burger but they were out... guessing someone didnt go fishing LOL. All had a choice of fries or rice. I chose rice.. when it came with fries I was told they were out... glad they had an endless supply of drinks for me to make it up on.
Looks yummy!

Once we were done eatting, E went and got us beach chairs you just have to tell them your with the tour or its $10 each. He got 4 but we really only needed 2, oh well we gave the other 2 to our excurtion friends who didnt get one.
What? you mean you didn't chair hog up two extra lounges for your boys who will never sit in them? LOL! <- that whining and complaining comes to you courtesy of Cruise Critic...where I am apparently spending way too much time!
Es going to kill me but he was sitting on the beach relaxing when all of a sudden a huge wave came from no where and knocked him over .. I told him it looked like he was trying to do some type of gymnastics/yoga LOL

Ha! Rogue wave, right?

E tried to get the boys to take a pic like our last cruise when we were in Cozumel, but apparently either E's gotten weaker or the boys have gotten bigger.. Im going with both.

This Cruise Last Cruise
134.jpg
scan0049.jpg

Judging by that beefcake "E starring as.....The Rock" pic you posted on FB, I am going to go with the kids got bigger. Plus I don't want to be on the bad side of a Marine with big guns and a big gun, KWIM???

Our driver dropped us off a few steps from the souvieor market place.

We were now on a mission to find tshirts for E, shot glass for me, thimble for my mom, post cards to mail and whatever else the boys may want. E found some and they didnt have his size in the type of design he wanted so he talked them into taking him upstairs to where they do the tshirt press and picking exactly what he wanted...

That's pretty cool. I remember back in the 70's my dad used to take me to a T-shirt shop where you picked the design and they would make it for you right there. I thought it was just the neatest thing, especially when I could get the ones with the glittery designs. LOL!!!

When E went to check out the lady told him $42.. and he paid, didnt try and bargen or anything I would have said how about $40 even at least.. actually I would have said how bout $30 and tried to meet in the middle no he was fine paying that. Said they needed it more then we did, ok.

Yea, we did the same thing in Haiti.

I went and found my shot glass, moms gift and post cards got them all labled and ready to mail. Then J took a turn for the worse and was beyond tired so he and E headed back to the ship.

P and I went to mail the cards and find an xmas orniment. Also I wanted to find a cute dress, but couldnt find any that I really liked so this women draggs me to the main store and tells me she has one in the size/type/color I want cuz the one I had in my hand was 2 sized 2 small. When we get there is not the same color/type/style/SIZE most importantly LOL. So I say no thanks and she keeps pushing it on me. I said I cant even fit into this my left thigh cant either. She keeps going on and on for me to buy it, I say no 1)it has a hole I found & 2) I cant fit in it 3)its short I was looking at long. Sorry trying to be really nice about it and thanking her but if you dont have my size you cant help me. Thats when things got ugly. She is cursing at me and trying to hand me the dress so I have to take it I finally tell P to turn around and lets go. Some other tourist follows me and said she was having the same issue.. it is almost scary.

O...M...G that is crazy! That would have freaked me out! and I thought they were pushy in Cozumel ...:scared1:

Once that was done, we hit up the B-Hive bar for a few libations and to cool my nerves. Its the 1st bar right off the pier.

They had a deal going on 2 beers for $5 for the Wadadilis and I got P a shirley temple

And all is right with the world again.....

Bartender asked him if he wanted to have a beer also (jokinly) and P looked at me like REALLY I can? ha no we just like to mess with ya LOL.

Nice try P!!!

The bar had free wifi so I took the time to check emails and log into facebook it felt like a link back to the world that way.. plus its nice to rub into everyones face while they are on their way to work and Im on my way to drunkeness LMAO. Im sure some of you saw those post/pics

My face was quite rubbed, thanks.....

P & I went up to the lido to get some chow and a DOTD (today was the Riviera Delight). Then headed back to our room to watch for walk/run of shamers. As the moments passed we kept waiting and waiting and not one single runner, I was so bummed that was pretty much the #1 reason why I booked a balcony to begin with. Seriously that and coffee alone in the am.
That is a bummer. I made sure we picked the side of the boat that overlooks the port too in hopes of catching me some red-carpet WOS'ers.
hope I'm not dissappointed! I gotta figure with 3x the number of peeps on the Magic, the Allure is bound to have 3X as many last minute panicked runners, right??? :rolleyes1

I then talked the boys into taking some pics, nice casual jean pics. Was hoping they had a white or black background like last night but nothing, they had some funky backgrounds, so the boys picked out a few to do.

Aw, you guys look great but you're right that bright ol background is kindof busy behind ya.

We found out that on Nassau day they will have the nice white backgrounds so we will be making the boys do another session then. This is in the atrium up 2 decks.

Wow, Nassau too? Where *didn't* your cruise go? I swear Carny has the best Caribbean itineraries!

P went to his club where they were having a dance in the 70s club, then Karaoke, and he skipped out for watching Twilight with his buddies and watched Grown Ups on the big screen, then... wait for it, wait for it.. Iron Man.
Iron Man...? you don't say....!

Eventually we made our way to the Posh dinning room for dinner ourselves. (I swear it sounds like all we did we eat but there was a lot of time in between since we didnt catch the show they had. Since the 1st one was so bad.)

Dinner was good E had some type of steak maybe pork?

Yup I'd go with the other white meat!

I had a pasta

For dessert bread pudding... not what I was thinking

Not what you were thinking it was...or not what you were thinking of having?

We caught up with the Fun Patrol in the main theater doing a game of Liars club, basically you try and figure out which of the 3 fun patrol people is lying and which it telling the truth. Its really cute game, and we learned a lot about them, their jobs. Lots of audience participation which I love games/shows like that. Point for Freddy since E and I were rolling.

That does sound like fun, kind of like Clue? E did it with the beer bottle on the Lido? Not quite? don't laugh at me it's 4:30 AM and I'm getting quite punchy!

When that was over we went to the lobby to hear some music, and get a drink. The bartender and I started chatting as she was from Croatia where my grandfather came from. She took a pic of me and E

We asked her for a refill were told our sign and sail cards werent working. So after we finished and they gave us a recepit via old paper format we hit up guest service to see what the issue was.

Apparently our Disney Visa didnt like that we were sailing on Carnival with Freddy and was revoking the charges.. lmao no just that Chase visa thought it was stolen. We called them and let them know it was all good we were the ones using it and they stated all would be good, or so we thought...

Uh oh....

I went to get J from his club and E finished up with guest services. We met back in the room and P came in around 12am. Party animal wonder where he gets it from lol. It was lights out as we had another fun filled early morning tmrw.

This is what we came home to (no Ellen I didnt kiss him... tonight that is...:rolleyes1

Smooches!!! (im my best Jay from Clerks voice)

UP NEXT: Taking a Bath, before a Walk O'Shame

W00t! Walk of shamers, coming right up!! They are gong to be coming right up, correct...as in before next month...:rolleyes1

OK, forgot to quote your quote, so I'm going off memory (cause scrolling down is sooooo hard!)......:rolleyes1

1) We learned to always call credit card companies before any big vacation any more. They are all locking down accounts even for travel within the US lately. Jeff was on a business trip to Vegas (yeah, right!) and his debit card was locked when he was trying to get cash to gamble! :lmao: After that little fiasco, we called Amex and Visa, and the bank our debit card is with, before our cruise to let them know. And they wanted to know EACH STATE and EACH ISLAND we would be in! I guess better safe than sorry, and it's okay now that I know, but I wish they would advertise this.

Oh yeah, they probably do in that annual thingamajig they send out......

2) Zip lining.... looks awesome! Would you do it again? The video is of a very short line. If I paid $100 to sail across my family room (and believe me, there are times that my family room looks like a rain forest, complete with critters and undergrowth!), I'd be ticked. Please tell me there was a longer line somewhere.....

3) Oh, can't wait for the walk of shame!!!! In St Thomas it's a drive of shame. You are personally escorted to your ship from the entrance to the pier......

4) I'm kinda likin the B-Hive bar, but then I kinda like those touristy areas right by the port. But I would not have likes Push McPushaLot with the dress! I'm thinking you are way nicer than me, cause I would have given her "that" look. Yeah, uh huh, YOU know that look. Just imagine your boys talking back to you. Yeah! That's the look!!!! Now remember it next time Pushy hits you up in a crazy Caribbean land!!!!

She's back! Drea, that update was worth waiting for! :cool1: I can't believe it was that hard to get a towel. You're right - everyone on Disney would have bent over backward to help you.
thank you... I really want to finish this unlike my WDW trippy.. maybe someday i will revisit that LOL

Antigua looks like alot of fun! Loved the music with the George video!:rotfl2: I can't believe what they tried to charge you for the pics!
parts of it are beautiful, parts of it you really appriciate what you have back home. Thanks thats the song we all kept singing there... one of the other guys on our tour started it. Cuz when you come to the end of each line it sort of whips ya like your going to smack into the tree

The part that they really got was that the kids were still in school.. I was like seriously... how bout the fact that some of their homes were the size of YOUR ROOM!

I don't like that kind of pressure sales - made us stop shopping in Mexico, and not want to go back to St. Maarten. Almost scarey - they take you to the "main store' where they have your size for sure....:rolleyes1 (okay, I've watched too much TV lately) ;)
looking back i think to myself what was i doing with my child ... thats like a Natalia Hollaway case in the making. Something about just seemed like none killer. Ya be ware there they are UBBER pushy.

You got some nice family pics! Oh! Oh! I hope your card doesn't give you too much trouble. Not a good feeling. :upsidedow
I figured all they could do was keep me on the ship., as long as they didnt cut off my drinks I was ok with it LOL

^^I just did the work for ya, there! :)
OH GEEZUS... im a dork, Port so easy.. yest so hard

Were they ALL Carnival? Because apparently only Carnival does the GOOD itineraries.....just sayin....
no umm one was holland and... hmm i forget the other. I had them all written down at one time before we left, hows that for mad planning?

Glad this day got started right!!
give me kahlua and coffee and no one gets hurt :rotfl2:

...until this.... What a PITA!!!! All of the cruise lines should just do like DCL and put the towels out with no restrictions. Take a hint Carny and Royal...if you put out the crappy scrawny towels nobody will keep them, and everyone will just be grateful for the convenience!!! Geesh.
true the carnival towels covered my whole body, unlike Mickeys washcloths. And they were thicker, so I can understand not wanting them stollen but come on get my room number and let my steward know TEAMWORK PEOPLE!

Sounds pretty awesome to me! You have picked some really cool excursions!!
I try lol. Especially since my family is no help in deceiding I go with what I want to do! If Im planning it were doing what momma wants

Most definitely!!! Trust me!!!
well i would take traffic there any day .. over home :headache:

Eventually we found him and met up with another couple and a family of 3. Then proceeded to wait as he was just the middle man and our drivers were still on their way. Eventually our guides came and we went in one car and the other 5 in another. Our tour orignally started at 815 but I got an email moments before we sailed away that said it needed to be changed to 730.

That does stink, extra sleep is something that's hard to come by on a cruise!
i never get sleep let alone any extra .. im always afraid im going to miss something.. my mom says thats how ive always been, probably why i never slept thru the night till I was 2 (ya she hated me)

Mmmm..yeah not the best work. I understand photographing an activity like ziplining is difficult but I feel ya on these. Ya pretty much *have* to get them though.
whats they need to do is tell you when you go down the 1st zip line there is a camera to your left.. LOOK THAT WAY. so we all would have known

E's the sucker... i finally told him to walk away. he came back or else I could have had them for $50 I was OK with paying that lol (ok not OK OK but you know LOL)

LOL don't get Ron started on tip jars. He hates tip jars at counters (for something like this-a shop where you aren't getting service, just checked out) and drive-throughs. He gets fired up just seeing the tip line on the receipt!
HA the drive thru ones piss me off too.. im thinking I did half my own service.. dont think so!

ah, I'm at work I'll have to watch at home. Hate that. ;) ***Edit Another great video production, love the music, and J's "That was Awesome!!"
lol thanks P says he wants to do the next one since he took a video class last semester.. but ummm I have the control issue.. we'lll see though

What? you mean you didn't chair hog up two extra lounges for your boys who will never sit in them? LOL! <- that whining and complaining comes to you courtesy of Cruise Critic...where I am apparently spending way too much time!
I havent been over there in eons... would make me to depressed.. I wanna book the Carni Breeze.. but now not sure if that will happen.. sooo dont want to make myself sad LOL

Ha! Rogue wave, right?
and you all think I married him for his good looks and brains.. nope that man can move like no other!

Judging by that beefcake "E starring as.....The Rock" pic you posted on FB, I am going to go with the kids got bigger. Plus I don't want to be on the bad side of a Marine with big guns and a big gun, KWIM???
oh E wouldnt hurt a fly.. he's bark is bigger then his bite.. and really he would just talk anyone to death LOL

That's pretty cool. I remember back in the 70's my dad used to take me to a T-shirt shop where you picked the design and they would make it for you right there. I thought it was just the neatest thing, especially when I could get the ones with the glittery designs. LOL!!!
OMG i remember one like that in our mall.. Ya I felt very Jersey Shore.. i was waiting for the Situation and Snookie to walk out. lol

Yea, we did the same thing in Haiti.
In the end I hope it was put to good use.. and not used for any "medication"

O...M...G that is crazy! That would have freaked me out! and I thought they were pushy in Cozumel ...:scared1:
Oh Cozumel is tame comparied to the Antiguans! my mexican people need to step it up by 10 to keep up!

My face was quite rubbed, thanks.....
if its makes a difference.. you rub mine too when you go on all your cruise, and WDW "dance" weekends LOL

:rolleyes1
Oh I would hope so! thats the only thing that make me ok with leaving a beautiful paradise.. watching a bunch of drunk adults try and run down a pier.

Aw, you guys look great but you're right that bright ol background is kindof busy behind ya.
Oh JUST wait till we check out our pics in the next "chapter"

Wow, Nassau too? Where *didn't* your cruise go? I swear Carny has the best Caribbean itineraries!
It makes up for their bad shows I think. When I told E about the ports he chose that over the Allure or Oasis. yet I so wanna go on those its like saying you went on the titantic is so "KNOWN"

Not what you were thinking it was...or not what you were thinking of having?
oh sorry no not what I was thinking how it would be. It was sort of saucey with bread floating almost in it.. Different.. a few bites was enough.. should have gone with the choc lava cake

That does sound like fun, kind of like Clue? E did it with the beer bottle on the Lido? Not quite? don't laugh at me it's 4:30 AM and I'm getting quite punchy!
I was all what the heck... "E did it with the beer bottle", ya my mind went straight to the gutter.. AHH no.. BUT they did have a murder mystery on there too.. but you had to go to a bunch of things read your fun times and really pay attention.. not good for someone having mad amounts of D'sOTD!

W00t! Walk of shamers, coming right up!! They are gong to be coming right up, correct...as in before next month...:rolleyes1
uhh before the end of Sept.. for SURE. Im going to VEGAS next weekend. for a Batchelorette party.. ya gonna rock the Sin our of that city.. or make more of it LOL

OK, forgot to quote your quote, so I'm going off memory (cause scrolling down is sooooo hard!)......:rolleyes1
you have a great memory!

I guess better safe than sorry, and it's okay now that I know, but I wish they would advertise this.
you know I thought about it and kept remeinding myself and then bam totally forgot. Funny though, havent had to do it or had any problems for either of my Disney trips.. I really think the mouse didnt like me cheating on him.:rolleyes1 (but you know how them mice can be all protective over whats theirs LOL)

Oh yeah, they probably do in that annual thingamajig they send out......
ohh ya.. that thing i just throw away

Yes I would.. for that price HECK NO. No the 1st was the shortest and each got longer. the 7th was the heighest and farthest. I want to say as long as a football field. maybe. but me and measurement dont get along so dont quote me. Whats funny is those that did it through the cruise lines and ONLY did the zipline and not the combo like we did that booked ourselves is they only did 5lines. not 7 like us! we special! (and they dumb cuz they paid more.. just saying)

3) Oh, can't wait for the walk of shame!!!! In St Thomas it's a drive of shame. You are personally escorted to your ship from the entrance to the pier......
oh ya I love that.. next time Im going to hang out that Senior frogs and watch if we dont have to be the 1st ship out that is LOL

It was a nice way to end the day, You know all classy me taking my 12yr old to a bar and all.

Yay, you're back. Love all your pics! I am almost finished with my TR from June (DD's 16th birthday DCL).

So going to interupt this trippy with a mini trippy.. and some news..

1st off.. E has put in his retirment papers from the marine corps... Oct 31 2012 is his last day owned by the government. Ya Im still in that shock and awe state. It kind of came out of left field after he had a really rough week at work and after talking to a few guys that had gotten out asking how do you know when its time to retire... he felt it was his time. SO I have a yr to get used to the idea. after 15yrs of the military life its hard to get prepared for the unknown really. Granted the military is never known but I know what I have no control over LOL. Now on to the next chapter.. dont ask me he has no clue whats next yet either.

But on to the fun, went to Vegas last weekend for a gal I work with Bachelorette party. It was great fun.

this is how 5 moms pack for less than 2 days, we left at 3pm friday got home sunday night about 11pm

Great time had by all and in Nov. I get to go back and party for the last time with Marines at our very last Marine Corps Ball.. he said were going buck wild balls to the wall! So this should be interesting! lol

**ok and NOW im uploading pics from Tortola! with the long weekend I "should" get a new chapter up.. along with catchup on everyones trippy ive been lagging on so sorry.**

OMG!!! That's HUGE news!!! I'm very excited for all of you!

But on to the fun, went to Vegas last weekend for a gal I work with Bachelorette party. It was great fun.

Fun? With YOU there? Can't imagine...:rotfl:

then we thought we should write on the car
007.jpg

Very nice work!

apparently you get what you ask for... BUST
009.jpg

Holy CRAP!!! :scared1: Was it your car??

hot fireman at least to view
011.jpg

Always good to make lemonade out of lemons!

but that didnt stop us we were on a mission to party, rental car time
020.jpg

YOU ROCK!!

so what do bad girls do then?
086.jpg

I'm a good girl....twice!

Great time had by all and in Nov. I get to go back and party for the last time with Marines at our very last Marine Corps Ball.. he said were going buck wild balls to the wall! So this should be interesting! lol

Can't wait to see THOSE pics!

**ok and NOW im uploading pics from Tortola! with the long weekend I "should" get a new chapter up.. along with catchup on everyones trippy ive been lagging on so sorry.**

Well, I'm glad you're back- all my TRs miss your funny comments!

/
Hi Drea! I think I'm starting backwards but I just had to comment - WOW! E's news is huge! We will be leaving at the same time! There comes a time when guys of his rank and experience have just had enough and things just aren't the same anymore - hmmm how do I know that? :rolleyes1 I'm excited for all of you, and a great opportunity will present itself. IKWYM about making new decisions. It was strange for us after 10 years AD, but we still have "the life" It will be strange after 32 years for sure! AZ rocks, BTW!!!!

Vegas - Yikes on the fire - yay for back on the road!!! Looks like a crazy time was had by all! (Oh, and Jim is going to boycott all the official type stuff because he hates them and there is no one to impress :rotfl2:) I'm glad you will go out with a Bang! (or something like that. :rotfl:)

Taking a Bath, before a Walk O'Shame

As usual I woke up at 6 am, to see us slowly making out way into Tortolla and sat on the balcony to work on typing a few things up that we did for St thomas and Antigua, because I was just too "tired" apparently the nights before and hadnt done a thing..

The best part of waking up is Kahlua in your cup!
007.jpg

It was a gorgouse day I had put the room service tag on the door the night before and asked for it 6am this time since we were only in port from 7-330pm, a knock came at 630.

008.jpg

I had a few cups of Kahlua infused coffee & danishes then got the boys up and ready. Its so nice to hear the quietness out on your balcony with just your thoughts (yet sometimes those are scary LOL)

Hey a Hidden Mickey!
006.jpg

A few more cups of Kahlua, I mean coffee then we got our bags ready.
017.jpg

Yeah, PORT side again! Maybe we will catch some runners???...
013.jpg

I was going to book todays excurtion to the baths on our own but after reading on the CC its almost a headach as they correl the cruise excurtion peeps 1st. With 3 ships in port today I didnt want to chance not being one of the 1st groups over to the island since we were limited on time (you know since we have to take in consideration time for E to find the "perfect" tshirt, or else we'd be in a "situation") I dont think it ended up being much more to do it through Carnival either.

I love all the island licence plates, I wouldnt be such an angry driver if our Cali ones looked like this
030.jpg

We had no no problem with needing to find towels this time, Tito must have talked to Janet and Jermaine last night and remembered to leave us 4 clean ones!
164.jpg

As we walked off the ship we pointed in the direction of where to catch Speedys boat to the baths. Since the boat had free wifi I logged back into the "real" world and checked emails and of cource facebook. Had to do a lil more rubbing in of the vacation lol.

I am here, you are there.. HA HA
IMG_1706.png

Once we reached Virgin Gorda we then got on an open bus to be taken over to the baths.

Dont they look so happy to be on vacation..
041.jpg

Our guide gave us a 5cent tour and info on where to go and when to meet back, more importantly where to get our free rum punch. That would be MadDogs on the top of the mountain where they drop you off.
131.jpg

Then we headed to Devils Bay 1st (its just a matter of following a different path for the 2 different beaches) since everyone else was going to the main area 1st. (Thanks Kimberly for the tip to make sure we got to there.)
054.jpg

The view along the path is gorgous
058.jpg

It does seem like a long walk so be prepared to hear, omg are we there yet, Im so tired, my feet hurt, Im thirsty.. eventually E stopped lol
051.jpg

Taking a Bath *video*

OMG Devils Bay is now one of my fav caribeean beach almost as much as Castaway Cay. Only thing that would make it better is it needs a bar! What are they thinking not having one?

This is what you walk out of the "forest" to see... ahhhhhh
071.jpg

The boys got their snorkel gear and off they went.
081.jpg

P gives it a thumbs up
079.jpg

J said ahh this is the life
084.jpg

There was very little waves here since its a bay its so calm and nice.
069.jpg

View from the water to the beach (there is more beach to the right but we camped right there since its where the path ended and then you had to walk back on it to go thru the baths. Basically Ya call us lazy)
092-1.jpg

I wadded around enjoyed the scenery, then offered to take a pic of a family, which then ended up being like 12 cuz all these other families asked me. Was hoping the photo karma would come back to me later.

Smile dude were liven the dream!
090.jpg

**continued in next post way to many pics**

Taking a Bath, before a Walk O'Shame (Part 2)

Its not a vacation to the islands without some type of free roaming animal walking infront of you
095.jpg

After about an hour later we packed up to go thru the caves/baths. We werent too sure how long it would take us so we we wanted to be sure we had enough time to explore them and still enjoy some water/beach time.
097.jpg

Lordy there are some "TIGHT" spaces to monuver around. We all hit our heads at least once on a rock.

There are a TON of people go thru them so E basically rushed us thru. But I know it was cuz he was losing oxygen not being in the water for so long.. my lil merman
103.jpg

Once at the main beach we again set up camp. This side isnt as nice as Devils Bay.
114-1.jpg

The sand is rougher. Tons more people and water was even chopper then when we were at St Thomas. The rocks and reef made it hard to get by also.
112.jpg

But there was more fish to see while snorkeling the boys said. E and P were out there for a long while.

P gives Virgin Gorda 2 thumbs up!
108.jpg

J gave it a yell
109.jpg

The boys of course built sandcastles
121.jpg

Eventually I made my way to the Poor Mans Bar to get a Pain Killer.
122.jpg

YUMMY yet I havent met a drink on vacation I didnt liked.
123.jpg

I packed up then called the troops out of the water and we made our way back up the hill and got our rum punches (fruit juice for the boys). Make sure you leave earlier so you can take a dip in the pool on top and cool off and clean off plus great pic area, and shopping on top.
We then hopped on our bus for the ride back to the pier to catch Speedys Boat. We grabbed some seats on the top open deck in the shade and the boys passed out.
142.jpg

146.jpg

I was in the sun and again used the wifi to my advantage. who got my facebook pics LOL.

Once back at the pier we dropped our stuff off at our room and headed back out to the market area to do some shopping. Told E theres no time to be picky and get special orders this time lol. He found his shirts, I found my shot glass and J and P each found a flute and steel drum. We got some drinks to walk back with I got an amber ale from Antiqua also E got a Carbi.
167.jpg

We bought post cards at the market area, but had to buy stamps at the pharmacy. So we walked all around the town to find it hidden in a back alley almost.
169.jpg

I quickly wrote them out and they said the post office drop box is right next store.. PERFECT... until I realize I left the pre-addressed labels back in the cabin. CRUD. So we cabbed it back to the pier so I could run and get the labels then get back to the post box and then back to the pier all in time to make it on the ship before they pull out!

As we get to the pier info book I talked to the gal there and asked if there was another post box closer, nope just the one next to the pharmacy. She said there would not be enough time to make it there and back. So she said if I just brought them to her she would mail them for me. OMG I heart her. So I run and get to the cabin quickly grab the labels and P and I head out, the security guys didnt want us to even get off cuz it was so close to boarding time. But I begged them, and said it was just down to the end of the pier.
I jogged the 1/4 mile back to the info booth and gave her the 3 cards along with $2 for her troubles. I thought hmm now lets see if we actually get them. (we did as did our families LOL) As we turned to run back the horn sounded, P and I looked at eachother with the "OH CRUD" look. As we were jogging back to the Freedom we hear E and our neighbors cheered for us..

E was out on the balcony yelling RUN FASTER. The neighbors next to us that we chat with each port started in on "GO GO GO" lol even though there was still tons of people coming and we had plenty of time to get back on. We laughed and waved. E had the cameras but ya think he would grab one to document our "close call" nope.

Once back on board, the boys went to get food, I went to get sail away drinks of the day. Todays beverage, the Mexican Mama (hey they named it after me!)
183-1.jpg

The Princess boat gives our free water and towels (1 point for the Love Boat!)
184-1.jpg

We headed back to our balcony to watch for runners. Today the balcony 2 up and 2 over to the left were playing some jams, we all started singing Caroline, Sweet home alabama, and a few other songs that I cant remember now. It made for good times.

We watched as a couple ran to get on then one of them couldnt find their sail & sign card. The chick took everything out of their bag while her man just stood there and watched and looked like he was yelling at her, and she yelled back, I could only imagine that conversation.
180-1.jpg

Eventually they took their names and looks like they looked them up and let them back on. They got a rounding cheer and lots of yells of go buy a lanyard (or a necklace if your Ellen).
181.jpg

We thought that was it but then they made an annoucment looking for 4 people same last name so we waited and waited then a few mins later 2 kids about the boys ages come RUNNING just booking it down the pier, and then a mom then the dad carrying all the crap.
189-1.jpg
,

Big cheers for them then we sailed away. And I got it all on video.. sort of

Taking a Bath, before a Walk O'Shame (Part 3)

We watched as we pulled out more singing then E headed to the gym while I took the boys to the pool for a quick dip
202.jpg

P ran off with his friends to play mini golf with his club. Then I decieded to feed J dinner at the buffet since he wanted to have fun with his club, which was having Rock Band Night.

Dress up, and musical chairs, rock painting (a rock is dipped in paint and rolled around a box with paper in it, i think its call marble painting too LOL) Then later they were having the Mega Deck Party Fun & Games at night so we wanted to be sure to all meet up and catch it together.
205.jpg

This boy can eat, I did have a lil sampling of everything
206.jpg

Kid after my own heart
210.jpg

It was a nice mom and kid time to talk
216.jpg

P found us and deceided to chow down also before going back to the club for another dance party then some quiz stuff then free arcade time.
I may have sampled his food too
227.jpg

It was mexican night in the buffet
224.jpg

P even had dessert
228.jpg

We headed back to the room to clean up and change. E and I droped J off at his club and P went to his. Then we hit dinner alone again, and apparently I didnt take one pic so no clue what we had to eat cuz I didnt type it up either.

After we went to the comedian Hal Spear in the 18+ international lounge and he was hilarious we laughed so hard I cried LOL. We had time between the next show that we deceided to check out the adult Serenity area
Tokyo Tea time
242-1.jpg

A little relaxing in the comfy round chairs
245-1.jpg

man the tea is good and Im so thirsty LOL
246-1.jpg

We came back to the cabin to refresh our beverages and we started to get crazy. Im blamming it on the al- al-alc- alcohol.... no I didnt kiss him El, I took advantage of him. See what a few drinks does to a gal.
219.jpg

So we went back to the comedy club and caught the other comidian again great act from JR McCollom. After that was over we dashed up to the kids club to get J so we could hit the Mega Deck Party. By the time we got there I guess most of the festivities either died out or this is actually how it is? It started at 1115pm, we got there by 1130.
243-1.jpg

They had some music so E was messing with J
229.jpg

And then... things got weird, but it was like a train wreck we couldnt stop watching... good thing I got it all on video!

Carnival Mega Deck Party Video

Mickey gets the point on this cuz of the pirates in the caribbean party is so much more fun and kid friendly than what was almost going on with Freddy.
We deceided then it was time to head to bed. P called and asked to get some pizza, so we said ok and to pick up a piece for us all. He walked in a bit after 1am with a full pie LOL. We all chowed down while watching tv. Then off to dream land we went.

Look who was waiting up for us

I just wanted to say what a nice looking family you have! Thank your husband for his service. Your trip report is great!:cool1:

Love your updates & pictures! That's funny about your "close call" trip back to the ship!

Hey- we're not THAT much alike- when I said I woke up early I meant 8:45, not 6 am! :scared1: C'MON!! It's VACATION girl! :rotfl:

The best part of waking up is Kahlua in your cup!
That's very catchy!! You should send it to Kahlua to use in a tv ad!

I had a few cups of Kahlua infused coffee & danishes then got the boys up and ready. Its so nice to hear the quietness out on your balcony with just your thoughts (yet sometimes those are scary LOL)

I love sitting out on the balcony in the morning!

A few more cups of Kahlua, I mean coffee then we got our bags ready.

Awww....we know you really meant Kahlua- c'mon now!

Yea- that was smart. Even from Tortola I know it's a hike over to VG- I still haven't gone. Every time we think we will, we end up going to the Willy T instead!:rotfl:

I love all the island licence plates, I wouldnt be such an angry driver if our Cali ones looked like this

Yea ya would- people with nice license plates STILL drive STOOPID, lol! :rotfl2:

As we walked off the ship we pointed in the direction of where to catch Speedys boat to the baths. Since the boat had free wifi I logged back into the "real" world and checked emails and of cource facebook. Had to do a lil more rubbing in of the vacation lol.

I have nothing DIS appropriate to say here.

Once we reached Virgin Gorda we then got on an open bus to be taken over to the baths.

Dont they look so happy to be on vacation..
041.jpg

OK- that just KILLS me! My men are the same thing- "we're standing in paradise" and "let's go see the rock in the backyard" all illicit the same photographic expression!

Our guide gave us a 5cent tour and info on where to go and when to meet back, more importantly where to get our free rum punch. That would be MadDogs on the top of the mountain where they drop you off.

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Good job on the WOS people:thumbsup2 Yeah, I'll be watching AI for you....

Stripper/dancing guy  I hope they knew the guy who came up to dance with their son - That was pretty funny. I wonder how many Utube videos there are of that guy :lmao:

So I have lurked all of your trip reports for a LONG time now and I just had to comment after that video, me and my DH were on the floor laughing because unfortunately, we really do get enjoyment from train wrecks like that!!!! In fact, we would have most likely stayed and watched until it ended, whether that be by choice or force((from crew or just other disgusted cruise guests!!!)) LOL!!!

:rotfl2:

I am loving your trip report- I am still new to the DIS but WOW it is good to know there are other Mom's struggling with the Disney addiction too! I  this board!
