good rates with Advantage

There are some decent rates with Advantage right now...eg.$211/week tax incl for midsize. I know, not great but I know some people have been really struggling to find anything under $300. While I prefer to rent right in the terminal, we have used Advantage before with no problems and they are right down the street from the airport. We have an 8 day rental booked for Aug for $187 and I have been checking daily for something comparible or close within the terminal but I've basically given up!

I am glad to hear you have had goo luck with them. I saw a good rate for our trip but I am hesitant to use one of the lesser known companies.

Just keep checking every day. I originally booked for a week in October with Alamo at $290 then a month or so ago I got a deal with thrifty of $209 and then about 10 days or so ago Enterprise had a dip in fare so I'm down to $185. It pays to stay vigilant.

That's good to hear...we still have 3 weeks to go so I will keep checking!

Priceline came up with a rate at Advantage today for a minivan for a week in October, $244, that was cheaper then a full size reservation I've been holding. I haven't used Advantage before but see now that Hertz purchased them so I'm more willing to give them a shot.

I just reserved a mid size SUV for 11 days for $441!!!

Does anyone know how long the shuttle ride it to them? I normally rent from Thrifty which is about 5 minutes, are they in the same area?

I was wondering this too so I checked it out. Advantage is listed at 5757 South Semoran Blvd. According to the map sites it is 2.8 miles so 5-7 minutes sounds about right. If I recall (when Thrifty was off site) Thrifty was at or near the Crowne Plaza which is 2.06. It looks like Advantage is about 3/4 of a mile further away than Thrifty used to be. I pledged to stick with the on-site places unless the difference was significant. I could save about 20% using Advantage, I really need to think about this.

After reading some of the less then glowing reviews and seeing ratings of 1 to 1.5 stars out of 5 I decided to look elsewhere and cancelled Advantage. Snagged a rental at Dollar using promo code OCVB from the www.orlandoinfo.com web site, costing me $30 more for 8 days minivan but not worrying about the experience is worth it IMHO.
