good quality coffee maker

could someone please recommend a good quality coffee maker for my mom?

since its only for my mom if there is a 6 cup would be great!!

I worked at Bed, Bath and Beyond so I will use my "class room" experience to answer this..

If you want a simple coffee maker, Mr. Coffee tends to be the best.

If you want something fancy, with a grinder and all the bells and whistles, go with a Cuisinart Grind N Brew

I second the vote for the Keurig. A fresh brewed cup every time! I bought one for my dh last Christmas along with a case of coffee. After seeing ours, about 10 of our family members have gotten one. My mom is getting it for the birthday of the last sister who doesn't have one.

You can either purchase the k-cups from a variety of coffee providers or you can buy what's called "my k-cup". The "my k-cup" is a reusable coffee filter that you can add your favorite ground coffee to. I have been buying k-cups from http://www.alpinevalleycoffee.com because they have the greatest variety of decaf.

DH bought the Keurig for our anniversary and we all love it! There is no waste, plenty of variety and most importantly, the coffee tastes great!

We have a Keurig here at work and we just ordered from QVC on Sunday one for home and I can not wait. I keep checking my email to find out when it will ship!!! It really is great.

I'm getting a Keurig for Christmas and I do plan to keep my old one... It's much quicker (and cheaper) to brew a pot for a large group that way. But many times there are a few people in the group who drink decaf - so I'm thinking I'll just just the Keurig for them (since it's typically just a few cups) and use the big pot for the group.

My guests enjoy selecting their own K-cup flavor and it takes about one minute to brew each cup of coffee.

We just got a Keurig here at work a couple of days ago (Christmas gift from our boss) and it is so awesome!!! Once our Mr. Coffee at home dies, I am getting one. I used to have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew, and it broke within a year. I got another one, and it broke within a year. Also, the Mr. Coffee brews better coffee than the Cuisinart IMHO.

I was skeptical about the Keurig, but dh convinced me to try it. The nice thing is you can also make hot chocolate or hot tea without any coffee aftertaste. It is incredibly quick, and you have the exact cup you want. It's a little indulgent, but now I swear by it!

I have a Keurig in the office. I've had it for a year now and it works great. I find that more and more folks are learning about it and the K-cup coffee seems to be everywhere now, even my local grocery store. (I buy mine from Amazon.com.) But at home we have a Bunn. We've had a Bunn for 10+ years and will always have a Bunn at home. Both machines are fast and make a good cup of coffee.
