Good Info to know about character meals

I just got off the phone with Disney dining making a reservation for Goofy's kitchen for my son's birthday party. My dad recently had Gastric Bypass surgery and he will be traveling with us to Disneyland. Any person who has had gastric bypass surgery can purchase the kids price at the buffets and kids meal at the menu meals, when they present their card that says they had gastric bypass. This is a savings of over $15 and I know my dad will be thrilled since he can barely eat a cups worth of food let alone $39 dollars worth. I thought this was great information to have and wanted to pass it on to anyone here who might need the same information at some point.

Wow that is fabulous!! I had a gastric bypass, but I was never given a card or heard of a card like this. I already paid for dinner at Goofys kitchen.

Your doctor can give you a card or other piece of paper which basically says you had this surgery and can only eat very amounts. I've used mine in both Disneyland and Disney World with no problems. When I first ask and hand them the card they usually are unsure, but when they check with the manager they always get a yes to the child's price.

FYI, I just used my medical card at Goofy's Breakfast yesterday without any problems and was able to get the child's price.

I'd give them a call and ask for one. I don't think mine gave me one automatically, I think I had to ask for it, but it wasn't a problem for them to do.
