Though we've been to WDW & FW many times, we've never actually stayed there.

We'll be in a cabin this coming weekend and can't decide if we should reserve a cart or not (if they even have any left). We will have a rental car.

We plan on spending Sat morning either around FW or doing some shopping and going to EC mid to late afternoon & spending the evening.

Sunday we plan on either doing a park (& getting there by car) in the morning, returning to FW for the afternoon, and going to the MK in the evening after dinner at Artist Point.

Should we get a cart? If so, is the rental period 2pm to 2pm?

ya rent them at 1pm...return them at 11am next day...may be tough getting a ressie for a weekend this late, but ya never know. Honestly...no more time than your spending actually at the campground ya probably wont get a whole lotta use out of it...but they sure are a blast to have...and cant be beat for quick runs to the merchandise shop. I loved having one and just aimlessly cruising around the campgrounds....the wife & kids loved it too.

Thank you again. If we were going to be there longer, and if the weather was going to be better, I would just rent one. It seems that we will have the most need/use for it Sunday into Monday and may only get it for then.

How long of a walk is it to get basic supplies, such as milk and cereal?

if it is in your budget, go ahead and get one. They are nice and convienent to have, esp if you have to get some supplies. It will make carring things easier as well. Depending on where your site is. I would probably be a decent little walk. Having a cart will make it easier and quicker!! Enjoy your trip!!

You'd be allowed to drive your rental car to the trading post...since there's is 15 minute parking...but any other driving other than entering and exiting is frowned upon. Meaning they dont want people cruising the fort in regular automobiles, hence the bus system. The trading post is pretty much in the center of the campground...theres another one near the marina, but I believe I remember someone stating that it is closed for the season. So WALKING to get supplies, especially from the cabin loops would be quite an adventure, if ya dont get a cart....take the bus or your rental car
here's a map of the grounds...the cabin loops are 2200 -2800..this map is cute and in no way is it to scale, so dont let it fool ya...the campground is
H U G E!!!...http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/FWMap.pdf

Thank you very very much.

I just got off the phone & reserved for Sat & Sun. I only did Sat because I thought we couldn't drive to get supplies. It sounded like they had plenty of carts available.

I'm going to discuss with my husband and see if we really want to have it on Sat. Seems like pretty much a big waste of money since the weather will be iffy, and we don't plan on being around FW all that much during the day.

Golf carts are a lot of fun just to go looping at night. You can take to the golf cart to the camp fire and the marina. I bought my own to take to FW. Once you have you wont want to do with out it.

Yes rent a cart.

Hmmmmm.....I wonder who I would call if I wanted to purchase a custom golf cart like that.....it would have to be someone on the east coast....dangit....if only I had a phone # to a good east coast custom cart dealer. I wonder what would happen if I were to just pick up a phone and randomly dial #s like, ohhh...I dunno....maybe 954 899 GOLF....I wonder if the person who would answer might know where I could find a good EAST COAST CUSTOM CARTS dealer. If only there were a phone number on one of those photos....wait a minute I can ALMOST make it out...its...its....um...954-899-4653!!!!!

waiting for my check in the mail:rolleyes1

I rented one back during Halloween and loved it! We drove around and looked at all the different decorations each night...it became a fun thing for my Grandaughter and I to do while Mommy Chilled for a while...Also running up to both stores to pin trade was somthing I could do as I'm an early riser while the rest of my family sleeps later...I've been looking at buying one ever since but can't decide to spend the money or just rent one each time...I'm pretty much a full time RV'r so I could use it more than 1-3 times a year at FW.....while we are typing...anyone know what kind of adapter is needed so I can run lights for decorating the cart...next trip there is Dec. 08...DL this spring for my first time!!!!!Thanks! Janet

Ron can answer, but I'm sure there's some type of power inverter you can hook up.

I highly recommend it. You will save tons of time each day skipping the internal bus system. While the IBS is very convenient, it can take a long time. Time you spend on a bus, just to get to another bus (or two).

If you can afford it, it is worth the luxury.

Buy a inverter and a marine 12v batt it will change D/C to A/C, put the 12v batt in the bagwell clip your neg & pos cables from inverter to the batt and plug your lights into that. This way it will save the run time on your cart. PS I think there is another number on that eastcoastcarts place 954-701-9133 :scared1:

I use battery powered LED lights I found at Wallmart during Christmas time. For the other times of the year I can put the plastic covers from other miniture light sets on the battery powered ones. There usually all about the same size. I have pumpkins for Halloween and little pink flamingos for other times.

Only the tacky plastic type. You know, thats why tornados hit trailer parks. It's a molecular attraction to tacky pink falmingos.
