My DH and I had a great discussion last night about going to DW next spring. He finally admitted he did not want to go because this would cut into his vacation time from birdhunting and fishing trips. I go with him but I really don't like it. I finally said he could stay home and I would take my 27 yo single DD instead. He thought that it would be a good idea. I called his bluff and asked my DD and she is all for it!!!!! We have such a good time together. The nice thing is that I can do the things I want to do instead of making sure he has a good time. I think we may stay at a delux resort and really get pampered. We have been to DW 5 times and always stayed at FW and I cooked and grocery shopped. I hope I am not coming across as ungrateful but had to express myself because I am soooooo excited. Anyone else rather go without husband?

I did!!! My DH is not a Disney fan so i took my DGD DS and DDIL We had a blast and DH had fun going on a fishing trip. We dod alot together and we have fun BUT I don't think you have to be joined at the hip all the time:teeth:

I did!!

My DD (age 6) and I went last October and had a great time. It is going to be an almost annual trip for us. DH has no interest in Disney and is fine with us going and having a great time.

We are getting close to retirement, 6 years and this makes me wonder if I will have to do trips with others because he doesn't like to travel. But I really am looking more to going with my DD than him. I love the guy but he just doesn't get Disney like I do. Will there be hope for us in retirement?????

My husband is just as excited about Disney as I am.

I know several people who went to Disney without their DH. Most guys around here think Disney is uncool, but hunting is really cool.

I've been several times with just my mom (or with her and various other family members). I'm 33, married, and don't have kids yet. DH likes to go - just not as often as I do. He hasn't been since 2001, but I'm hoping he'll go with me this December.

And I think you should definitely make it special and stay someplace new - and no cooking :).

My mom and I go every year on a mom/daughter trip and leave our SOs at home. We do everything we want and have a great time! You'll have a blast!:teeth:

I can't say that I would *rather* go without my husband, but if I waited for him to come with, I'd never go :p I have made 3 trips to WDW w/o him in the last 2 years and I have had a blast going iwth my friends!!! I do hope that this year I can get him to come with though :)

Great news! I just talked to my mom who is 76 and asked her to go with my DD and myself, she is absolutely thrilled. I think I made her whole year. She is spry and likes to do things too but my step dad never wants to go anywhere. This trip is getting better all the time. I definately will take them to the California Grill and see Fantasmic, 2 thing DH didn't want to do! Glad to hear you all go without your DH's too. Anything else you can think of that would be special for us ladies?

Sounds like a lot of fun! I've never been, but I've seen several reviews saying that the tea at the GF is a wonderful girls' time out. Have fun planning!

I go with my mom and my kids more often than with my DH. He likes Disney but just not as much as I do. My mom enjoys spending time with her grandkids so she loves to go. DH has no problem with our trips.
Thumpersfriend - I would go for some spa treatments at the Grand Floridian.

spa treatments, that sounds great! That really is a good idea. I even thought staying at the GF would be nice and girley. My DH hated the idea of staying there, but I always wanted to. This gets better all the time.
