I am going to see Mickey and all of his friends on 9-16 to 09-20-07. I could not find anyone to go with me and I could not afford to take my niece or newphew,so auntie is going alone. I have taken cruise alone with no problem. I am having the biggest problem is eating alone at the resturant's,I normaly do not go to resturant alone when I am at home.

I am staying inside the park at the Paraidse Pier. I am looking forward to it but alittle bite scraded.

Any idea's??:confused3

I haven't been to Disneyland alone, but I've been to New Orleans, twice, alone. For meals, I make sure to bring a book or notebook, to either read or write in, depending on which one it is. Sometimes I just get lost in thought, and just holding a book or pen while thinking keeps me from looking like I'm staring or glaring at people. :)

And peoplewatching is fun while alone, too. :upsidedow

The Paradise Pier is not inside the park, none of the hotels are. There is a paradise pier at DCA but not the hotel.

Now as for your worries, if you can't bring yourself to do a sit down, then use CS resturants.

Personally, I don't find it a problem eating alone, I am spending my money for food and atmosphere. I work just as hard for my money as any couple or family, so when I spend it, I want to enjoy myself. But everyone is different.

Being in DL alone is the best ever!! You dont have to answer to anyone. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want! =) I love going alone. And eating alone is all good. CS style would be the way to go, or you can leave the park and grab something eat at the hotel and come back. Since you are at PP it shouldnt be that hard! :goodvibes You will have a blast!!

:tinker:

The Disneyland Resort alone... can be a very wonderful experience.

Even alone... there are so many people to talk to, so many CM's to share a few minutes with, so many things to do-see-enjoy-discover-take pics of, so much time to yourself to think, reflect, soak in Disneyland and DCA to their fullest effects, do whatever you want, over and over if you want... and there are so many shops resort-wide to explore-dream thru-fantasy shop and also shop for friends & family in!

As far as food/dining alone..
I suggest the Little Red Wagon on Main St (for corndogs) and finding a nearby table at the Plaza Inn or across Main St at the Plaza Pavilion seating area.

The Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland also has some good food and some great snacks... the Mile High Chocolate Cake is almost a full meal and is definitely an incredible treat.
Especially during a performance of Billy Hill & the Hillbillies.
An always hilarious and repeatedly impressive musical/comedy show not to be missed when at DL.

White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian is also a wonderful little place.
Sorta hidden, out of the way, quiet, relaxing-energizing, comfortable and cool... usually inside & out.
A great little hot menu and cold sandwiches and a fruit selection too... also many various drinks and dessert items as well.
White Water Snacks... I LOVE the place. Whether alone or with a group!!

Also take advantage of attractions Fast Passes and the few Single Rider lines... in both parks... as much as possible. Both methods are very efficient at getting quicker/multiples of rides in a shorter time period. :thumbsup2

Have fun....

The Disneyland Resort really is the greatest place on earth! :cloud9:

I love to go to Whitewater Snacks when I'm alone! Great food, comfy booths, free drink refills, and it is always nice and quiet! I take a book and relax while I eat.

I'm going to be there the 20/21st by myself. Already having thoughts about that myself.:confused3

I will be at DL from 2/23-2/27/08 basically by myself and look forward to it! I can do all the things I want to do, and did not last year when I went with 2 friends. I plan on taking a book to read while eating alone. I am attending an event there on 2/25, but anticipate being alone the rest of the time.

Have fun!

I go solo at least once per year. I'm going this year during the first week of October and going to Mickey's Halloween Treat. Sounds like fun. The great thing about going alone is that you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, how many times you want. I can ride Haunted Mansion Holiday 10 times in a row if I'd like! Heaven to me!

As far as eating goes, I've eaten solo at the Carnation Cafe and Blue Bayou. I've also eaten solo at the StoryTeller's Cafe in the Grand Californian. That's probably my favorite restaurant. I love the atmosphere there.

You will have a great time.

Chas

I've gone solo...and I loved it. Take a notepad, pen, book, etc for during meal times. I would use some of that time to jot down notes and thoughts about my trip. There are also lots of people to talk to. By the end of my week there, there were CMs that practially knew me! I'd do it again in a heart beat (however, I don't think dh would let me :sad1: )

Note that there are Single Rider lines for:

DL- Splash

DCA- Soarin
Grizzly River Run
California Screamin
Mulholland Madness
Maliboomer
